Chapter 12: A Net of Spirit
"Fifteen hundred points. Not bad at all," Levi murmured, genuinely pleased. Four thousand points of Reiatsu had given him power to rival an Admiral. An extra fifteen hundred would push that strength significantly higher. That Sabaody yielded less than Marine Headquarters made sense; the fortress was a symbol, a site of legendary battles, far more renowned across the globe.
"All to Reiatsu," he decided. Having truly experienced the luxury of crushing opposition without lifting a finger, he had no desire to explore other avenues. Reiatsu was efficient, clean, and profoundly comfortable.
His Reiatsu stat climbed to 5500. The increase felt immediate and profound—a deeper well of power, more responsive to his will.
[Reiatsu attribute enhanced. Host's Reiatsu control proficiency increased. Reiatsu Perception significantly improved. Soul Deterrence and Soul Strike effectiveness moderately enhanced.]
"Perception improved the most?" Levi was mildly surprised. It seemed that boosting his overall Reiatsu didn't elevate all sub-skills equally; there was a focus. His Reiatsu Perception had always felt superior to Observation Haki. Standard Observation Haki perceived forms and movements in a kind of monochrome or thermal outline; it couldn't discern fine details like a face, as Fujitora had lamented in Dressrosa. But Reiatsu Perception was different—it painted a clear, almost holographic radar map of his surroundings in his mind, capturing not just physical forms but even vague imprints of spiritual essence. With this enhancement, what new levels of clarity would he achieve?
Squads of Marine soldiers, armed and disciplined, finished disembarking from the warships and formed ranks before him, awaiting orders. Their eyes were alight with curiosity—towards his youth, the rumors from headquarters, and what their new, fourth Admiral would do next.
"All units, proceed according to the pre-arranged operational plans!" Gion's voice cut through the air, seeing Levi seemingly lost in thought. A faint, confident smile touched her lips. In her view, this was proof he was out of his depth with large-scale command, just as he'd admitted. Fortunately, she had drawn up the tactical dispositions on the voyage. Seeing this little monster look momentarily helpless gave her a small sense of vindication.
"Hold on. Let me try something," Levi said, stroking his chin thoughtfully.
"What?" Gion began, but didn't get to finish.
A spiritual tsunami erupted.
BOOM.
It wasn't a physical sound, but a concussive wave of pure pressure that slammed into the senses of every living being on the archipelago. Levi's Reiatsu exploded outward, not as a crushing weight, but as an all-encompassing, invisible net. In the blink of an eye, it draped over every grove, every beach, every street of Sabaody.
"What's happening? Is a storm coming?"
"Why do I find it hard to breathe? My chest feels heavy… Look at the sky! It's darkened, but only over the island!"
This time, no one fainted. Levi's control was now precise, masterful. He could dictate the intensity and effect of his Reiatsu with pinpoint accuracy.
[Perception: Active. Engaged.]
The entire island snapped into razor-sharp focus within his mind. A living, breathing hologram of Sabaody unfolded before his spiritual sight.
He saw Scratchmen Apoo, watching the chaos with glee.
He saw X Drake and Urouge, locked in combat with a gleaming Pacifista.
He saw Trafalgar Law and Eustass Kid, forced into a temporary, bickering alliance against another mechanical giant. Law's hand swirled with a blue-white aura, a "Room" expanding. Kid assembled scrap metal into massive crushing arms.
He saw the Straw Hat Pirates swarming a third Pacifista, on the verge of overcoming it through sheer, chaotic force.
He saw Jewelry Bonney, turning pursuing Marines into helpless children and elderly before escaping with a laugh.
He saw Capone Bege on the coastline, surrounded but calm. "You lose because you're outnumbered," he taunted, before his body became a fortress, firing enlarging cannonballs point-blank into the Marine ranks, then unleashing a cavalry charge from his own chest.
He saw Basil Hawkins, stiffening mid-tarot reading, his face going blank—his divination yielding a shocking, likely terrible, result.
And in a quiet, shadowed tavern, he sensed a sudden, sharp focus—a powerful, dormant spirit snapping to attention. Dark King Silvers Rayleigh looked up, his eyes piercing. "Whose Conqueror's Haki is this?" the old legend muttered. "This coverage… it's not a passing burst. It's blanketing everything."
Back at the dock, Gion felt the immense, controlled pressure settle over them. "What are you doing? There are no enemies right here!" she exclaimed, feeling both the weight and a new, shocking realization. This Reiatsu felt… stronger than what had flattened her at headquarters. How? Is it an illusion?
"Every enemy," Levi said, a light, almost lazy smile on his lips as he gazed at the chaotic island interior, "is now within striking range." His enhanced Perception held them all, each Supernova and pirate, like fireflies caught in a vast, invisible web. The hunt, for him, was already over. It was just a matter of collection.
