Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 — Space Ring

In Shell Town, the name "Shadow" had already become something players looked up to. While most players struggled even to reach Level 3, this Shadow had climbed to Level 7.

If this were just another online game, people might have admired him from afar and sighed with emotion. But the God Forsaken Game was tied to lifespan, and that made every level-up both opportunity and envy.

Under countless gazes, Qin Feng returned to Shell Town. After activating the teleportation gate in the basement and gaining a point of reputation, he came back to the square and opened his stall again.

The square had originally been full of small stalls around the broken flowerbed, but the moment Qin Feng appeared, people surged toward him.

"The big shot is finally here! I saved up one hundred fifty days of lifespan just waiting for this."

"Last time he sold an Ice Cone Technique. Gray Rose shot up the level rankings right after. It was terrifying."

"Of course his items aren't ordinary.

The players crowded around with visible anticipation. At this stage, they could farm basic monsters for lifespan and inferior equipment, but skill books and high-grade gear were out of reach. Killing a BOSS was beyond most of them. Buying from Qin Feng was the only shortcut.

The Silver-grade warrior skill book Battle Roar that had dropped from Curser had cost three hundred days of lifespan, nearly a full year. Warriors who wanted it but lacked lifespan could only watch as a Level 4 warrior secured it and gained an edge.

"Three hundred days for one skill, is that worth it?"

"You think too simply. If his damage doubles, he'll earn it back."

"If your strength gets high enough, lifespan stops being the problem. At that point, even immortality isn't farfetched."

Besides Battle Roar, Qin Feng also offered inferior, ordinary, and bronze equipment. Better attributes demanded higher prices. Boots that increased movement speed, crowd-control skill books, and acceleration spells could sell for fifty to eighty days. The rest moved for twenty to forty.

Qin Feng also indicated that he was purchasing storage items. The crowd noticed and several began checking their inventories.

Before long, a beautiful girl in a black magic robe approached him. She had a slim waist, graceful gait, and a staff tied at her side. She was Black Plum Da Lizi, the young Prophet from Wang Meng's team.

Prophets belonged to a mage branch, capable of wearing magic gear. Due to the class' passive, they outperformed regular mages, especially in direct damage.

"Big shot, I have something you want," she said with a smile.

Her eyes were bright and playful as she extended a hand. A ring lay in her palm.

Qin Feng examined it.

[Space Ring: Contains 12 storage slots. Does not occupy ring or backpack equipment slots.]

It was Qin Feng's turn to be surprised. A storage backpack capped at three units per player, but a Space Ring occupied no slots. It was extra storage, pure profit. In his previous life, this thing could sell for ten years or more of tradable lifespan.

"What's the price?" Qin Feng asked.

Black Plum Da Lizi tilted her head. "I'm not selling it for lifespan. I want to add you as a friend, and I want you to help us fight a BOSS."

Qin Feng considered, then sent a friend request.

[Player Black Plum Da Lizi has accepted your friend request]

[Player Black Plum Da Lizi has sent you a private message]

Qin Feng opened the chat. After a short exchange, he learned the situation. Since Wang Meng had gone offline, the young girl roamed around alone, farming monsters until she bumped into a Golden BOSS. She certainly could not kill it solo. Even with her team, she doubted they could defeat something above Bronze.

Seeing Qin Feng in town gave her an idea. With the Space Ring as an introduction gift, she could request his help.

"What is the BOSS called?" Qin Feng asked.

"I didn't get close enough. But its health bar was clearly Golden. It's on a broken-looking boat in the swamp."A boat. Qin Feng nodded, already picturing it.

He messaged her: "I can help. If it drops gear or skill books usable for your class, I'll give them to you. Everything else is mine."

The girl blinked at the chat window. "What about Captain Wang Meng and the others?"

In her mind, Qin Feng would join their full party, defeat the BOSS, and everyone would divide loot. But Qin Feng shook his head.

"Your team has multiple classes. If nothing drops for my Assassin, I work for nothing."

It was a fair argument. Golden BOSSes were not easy, and drops were unpredictable. She relented.

"Then we'll do it your way. But if something drops for Captain Wang Meng, could you sell it to us at a small discount?"

"That's fine," Qin Feng replied.

She nodded. "Then we'll set off when the others log in."

Qin Feng glanced at the half-empty stall. "No need. Take me there now. I can kill it alone."

Black Plum Da Lizi froze. "Alone… kill a Golden BOSS?"

In her eyes, Qin Feng's leveling speed and stealth abilities were impressive, but a Golden-level BOSS was another matter entirely. She had no idea what skills it possessed, how much damage it dealt, or how many phases it had.

This big shot intended to solo it. Wasn't that a bit extreme?
