Chapter 2 - The Skyfall Calamity

Thirteen years ago, the gods lived in the Tenkuu-no-Kyōkai (Sky Boundary). During that time, all races that lived on Earth had peace, but they were divided by race. The human kingdom was to the far east, the elven queendom was at the center of Astrael, the dwarf nation was to the west, and the beast people lived to the north. The south was a land filled with monsters that people did not dare to cross.

All races, as curious as they were, wanted to know what went on in the Sky Boundary, and they all did research. They used magic and physical strength, some used technology, and some used any means possible. It was not something that had started recently; it had been there from the beginning. But as information evolved and went further, so did the research, and they continued trying.

But one day, a group of people in black cloaks appeared and began spreading the news that they knew how to reach the Sky Boundary. People became interested. The news spread far, even reaching the kings of each nation, and so everyone was interested. Some said it was just a lie or a prank, but others believed it. People who were sent never came back, and so the people in black cloaks called themselves Ten-ha (Sky Breachers). They set a date to reach the sky.

The Ten-ha were eight in number. They were the ones who claimed they had brought wisdom to Earth. They said that gods lived there and spoke of many other things, but no one would believe them. Years of dedicated research had been put into reaching the Sky Boundary. For some, it was their entire lives. Some had lived only to discover what was above. Factories were established, organizations were formed, all thinking there would be treasure or great harvest from the Sky Boundary.

So the Ten-ha set out on their journey at the appointed time and returned very late. It took them two days before they could return. People murmured, saying it was the same as always, that those who went never came back. But the Ten-ha returned the next day, and people wondered what they could have brought.

The Ten-ha said that the reason people never came back was because the Tenkuu-no-Kyōkai had a barrier that was invisible but powerful, strong enough to vaporize a fully grown man. It was made of magic, and they claimed they had broken it.

The people of Earth did not even think. All they wanted at that point was to reach the boundary at all costs. They did not think about who these people were, people they had never seen or heard of before. They did not think about what their faces were like or where they came from. They did not think about those facts.

The people of Earth rushed off using technology or magic. Some rushed on their own accord, some on behalf of nations, and some on behalf of organizations. But as they hurried, the Ten-ha shouted, "Calamity is about to befall Earth." But did they listen? No. The people of Earth only wanted all the profit available and did not think. It was a race to the sky.

As they rushed upward, humans, beast people, elves, and dwarves running into the sky, for a brief moment it felt like time stopped. Then a bright light shone, and a figure that looked like an angel appeared. The people of Earth were confused, because they had never seen a monster or creature like that before.

Then the figure spoke. The figure had four wings and three eyes. It looked like a man with a bright yellow ring, fused with a cross, on his head.

The figure said, "O people of Earth, why do you disturb us? We lived in peace inside our territory, and for one day never did anything wrong to you. Yet you ache for war. So we, the gods, shall grant you your wish."

A loud battle cry followed, sounding like trumpets. The people of Earth spoke among themselves. Whispers were everywhere. Some said, "He is joking, right?" Others said, "Are we seeing an illusion?" All the people were confused.

As some were in the air and some on the ground, the gods came out, and war began. The gods killed the people, and the people killed the gods. The war continued for some days, and obviously the gods had the upper hand. So the kings of the four nations came together to join forces. They put their heads together and thought of a plan.

The plan was simple: to kill the gods by combining their powers and forces together. On a normal scale, each nation's citizens would resist, but at that point all they wanted was to live. And so the tides turned against the gods, and they began to flee. The humans rejoiced.

But at that time, the God of Gods, Amatsuru, had just had his son, and he said he was going to fight. He came down and destroyed nations and killed many people. So the people came together again, surrendered, and joined the family of the gods.

The gods were strong, yes, but they could not rule directly over the people. As the people surrendered, the gods rapidly took people into their bloodlines. This caused misunderstandings between the gods, and they began to fight. All of this happened in less than a week. Gods fought gods, gods took sides, new bloodlines formed and fell, more cities collapsed, and more gods died.

At the same time, Amatsuru was with his child, and he came to stop the unnecessary and blinded fights between the gods. But the gods were blinded with rage. More people died. The people of Earth fought each other for money and land and to defend their bloodlines. Friends turned their backs on each other, murdered one another, and families were broken.

Amatsuru came down and stopped the wars, putting an end to the bloodshed. Bloodlines were recreated.

And the war stopped.

When Amatsuru returned to the Sky Boundary, his son was missing. No one knew what happened to his son or where he went. No god or man ever spoke about it again. After that, almost all the gods were banished from the Sky Boundary and were labeled traitors.
