Jay's POV
We were parked a little ways off, the lights from Sienna's mansion flickering through the trees. My heart was already racing—not just from nerves, but excitement. Keifer, Yuri, Ci-N, and I huddled together in the car, watching the house like we were some kind of spy squad. Adrian and Endrix were in the car with us, quietly checking gadgets and making sure the plan was solid. Ci-N stayed right beside me, her hand brushing against mine for reassurance.
"Alright," Keifer whispered, his voice low, "we go in now. Quietly. Stick to the plan."
I swallowed hard and nodded, gripping my backpack tighter. Tonight, we had to find answers.
We slipped through the shadows, staying low, hugging walls and hedges as we made our way around to the back entrance. Every step had to be careful. One wrong move and we'd be caught. When we reached the door, it opened slowly. Inside… silence. No guards. All of them were outside. I let out a quiet breath I hadn't realized I was holding.
"Everyone in," Yuri whispered.
We moved like shadows, eyes scanning every corner. Ci-N stayed beside me, whispering reassurance every few steps. Keifer was ahead, alert as ever, his hand resting near his pocket just in case.
"Up there," Keifer whispered, pointing to the staircase.
Step by step, we crept upstairs, the floorboards groaning just slightly under our weight. Then… a noise. My stomach jumped.
"Hide!" Yuri hissed, and we dove behind a couch pushed near the wall.
Through the gap, I saw Ruth , the head cleaner, moving across the hallway. She didn't notice us. Not yet. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to calm the panic rising in my chest.
Once she passed, we crept forward again, careful with every step. The closer we got to Sienna's study, the tighter my chest felt. The door—it wasn't just locked. Fingerprint-locked. A simple key wouldn't open it.
"How are we supposed to get in?" I whispered to Ci-N.
"Maybe there's a clue somewhere else," Yuri murmured, scanning nearby drawers and shelves. "Let's check other rooms."
"Let's split up," Ci-n suggested, moving slightly ahead.
"NO!" keifer snapped. I jumped at his voice. "I will not let you split up."
"Don't worry," Yuri said, rolling his eyes, "we'll meet back at the car. Same spot."
I nodded reluctantly. My stomach was a knot of nerves and anticipation.
Jay—me—took the left side, creeping quietly through the shadows, flashlight off. My mind raced, scanning for anything useful: keys, notes, fingerprints, anything. But the more I looked, the emptier the rooms felt.
I let out a frustrated sigh, moving into the corner of the hallway—and then it happened. Cold fingers clamped over my mouth. A shadow dragged me into the dark, shoving me down into the shadows where I couldn't see a thing.
And then everything went black.
Keyfer's POV
I was pacing around Sienna's house, checking every spot I had stood in earlier. Splitting up had seemed like a good idea at first—but now I couldn't stop thinking: what if something happened to Jay? My heart raced every time I remembered she was somewhere in this house, possibly in danger.
I moved carefully through the rooms, rifling through papers and documents left on desks and shelves. Personal letters, files, nothing seemed useful. My frustration grew with every useless document I touched.
Finally, I headed downstairs, scanning the rooms as I went. The place was quiet… too quiet. Then, out of nowhere, I heard a shout. Someone was in the house. My pulse spiked.
"Shit!" I hissed, ducking behind a low counter. "Where—where is Jay?"
Yuri appeared, crouched low beside me. "We have to get to her before they do. We're not leaving without Jay."
I clenched my fists.
"We have no choice! Either we leave now or we get caught!" ci-n said
"But what about Jay?" I muttered under my breath, panic clawing at me.
Yuri looked at me, steady. "Don't worry. She'll be fine. We'll find her."
I gritted my teeth and moved, still shaken from last night's chaos. But we had no time.
Suddenly, guards appeared in front of us, blocking the hall. I didn't hesitate. I fought. Punches, kicks, back-to-back
We finally made it to the car. My hands shook as I fumbled with the keys, glancing back toward the house. "We can't leave Jay in there," I muttered, fury boiling over.
"What's happening in there?" endrix shouted.
"We have no idea," I yelled back. "We don't even know how they knew where she was!"
"I can't just leave her!" Adrian said, voice trembling. "We have to go back for her."
And Endrix muttered, urgency in his tone, "People are coming. They're running toward the car!"
I slammed my hands on the wheel. "Fuck! Splitting up was a mistake. Jay—she's in danger. I can't just sit here!"
I started the car, tires screeching slightly as we raced back toward the house. My mind was spinning. Furious, panicked, helpless… every emotion tangled together.
"Everything went wrong!" I shouted to no one in particular. "She could be anywhere! Where is she? Where's my Jay?!"
I felt a cold dread settle in my chest. Today's plan, everything we'd prepared—it had all collapsed. And now… Jay was missing.
I gripped the steering wheel tighter, determination setting in. "We're going to find her. Before anything happens. Before she gets hurt. I won't let anything happen to her."
When we finally pulled up at Adrian's, I jumped out of the car. "Fuck!" I yelled again, the word tearing out of me. "We almost lost her! She could've been—"
"Keifer, calm down!" Yuri tried to say, but I wasn't listening. "How did they even know we were there?!" I shouted, looking at everyone around me. My mind was spinning with questions, but the only one that mattered was Jay.
Everyone was panicking, throwing out ideas and fears, but I couldn't stop thinking: she's my wife , she's my responsibility, and I won't let anything happen to her—not ever.
I ran inside Adrian's house, heart hammering, and demanded, "Where is she? Tell me everything! Don't leave anything out!"
The room was tense, everyone frozen for a moment. My head was spinning, my hands shaking—not from fear of the guards or the house, but because I didn't know if Jay was safe. And that thought alone made my blood boil.
