Chapter 54 — Vivienne's Masterstroke
The mansion groaned as though alive, the remnants of the last explosion still smoking in the hallways. Kiera pressed Leo close, eyes darting around the corridor. Her father stood beside her, tense but determined, and Kade flanked her, every muscle coiled like a spring.
Vivienne's voice slithered through the shadows, soft, cruel, and mocking. "Ah… Queen, how touching. Family reunited at last. But do you really think you've survived? The game is far from over."
Kiera's fists clenched. "We've stopped two devices already. That's enough. You're done, Vivienne."
A sharp, mechanical whirring echoed through the mansion. Sparks lit up the walls as a panel slid open above them, revealing a third device, far larger and more intricate than the first two. Red lights blinked across its surface in an erratic rhythm, almost like a heartbeat.
Kade's jaw tightened. "She's upgraded it. Bigger… deadlier."
