Cherreads

Chapter 6 - 5.

The girl awoke a few minutes before she had set the alarms to wake her she felt refreshed like as if she were a dry field to whom water was returning, the feeling was slow but also the exact thing she needed after yesterday's fiasco.

She quickly turned off all of the alarms and switched them off.

There were two reasons she had waited another day to leave instead of leaving right away after finding about her family's dissapperance or so. One was that she was tired which was bad for so many different reasons.

The second more hidden reason being she had secretly wished for them to return, alas even with all her grandeur dreams was just a sheltered girl who knew nothing of the world but also loved her family enough to wish for their wellbeing more than her supposed freedom.

. . .

The girl packed some things a few jewellery belomging to both herself and her mother and some small antiques such as rare trinkets as both emergency funds but also as keepsakes if she were to never return.she also took some chocolates and crackers, a small first aid kit, sanitizer and some supplememts.

She looked around the house and decided to lock her room's window and the room itself before she took her first steps outdoors.

The front door was not as heavily barricaded as was expected so when opened with a slight kick, she let out a laugh not the kind of laugh when you find something funny but the kind where you see how hopeless you were.

She looked at her home one last time before she gathered all the courage she needed to get out of that home and when she did she saw strange talismans, signs and stigmas either pasted or engraved onto the door. She was confused but she had no time to ponder. She went to the gate which was locked tightly and therefore couldn't be kicjed by an adolescent girl so she threw her bag over and started scaling the tall iron fence.

. . .

Leaving home she was scared but she also felt free nonetheless as she was departing she took one final look at her home before she toughened up and left. She took a quick glance at the sea she normally pondered onto at the balcony but paid it no mind and headed to the road.

Getting to the main road was no easy task yes the main house was surrounded by a fence but that fence surrounded the house not the property so even after a good 5~10 minute didn't get her off her parent's property but she persevered through it long enough to reach the end and finally onto the main road which wasn't really that big considering that her parents had chose a pretty deserted area to "protect" her.

She saw some big trucks and cars passing by and thought of hitch-hiking on a random one but dismissed the idea quickly when thinking of the dangers it may possess. So, she walked a good few hours in the never setting sun and reached a semi-hilly semi-open field and opened up a bit of her chocolates to eat.

She slowly kept one into her mouth when she saw a family of 4 getting into their car presumbly after a picnic looking at the utensils and cloth. The children looked ages 4 and 7 and the parents looked like young adults. Taking her chance she slowly walked up to them and explained it detail of a short but believable excuse about her being a student who got stranded when coming to this area to research without checking the hus schedule, which the couple readily believed. Neal also asked for them to help her get to the city by riding with them.

She knew of the dangers hitch hiking with strangers could posses but felt comfortable around the young couple with choldren of their own to ask for help. She got it with them in the seat behind the driver's and started talking to the young kids.

She should have felt a bit awkward and nervous talking to new people when she was surrounded by family all her life but somehow she was confident enough to be able to not only strike up a conversation but also befriend the family sharing some of her snacks along the way.
