" Your sister went to stay with your Aunty Nerlin, you remember her right, your mum's best friend." my dad finally answers, breaking the slowly growing awkwardness in the air.
[ The high priestess.] provided Nyphrin, what else could she do, other systems host in the novels she'd read were all powerful and had genius level intelligence, but hers, couldn't even remember basic things, like names, she could not help but wonder how she got into this situation with such a host.
[ I know who Nerlin is ] Rowan mentally retorted back at her.

" It doesn't matter if you can't remember her. . ."
" Dad I know who Aunty Nerlin is." I quickly cut him off.
" How long has she been there." I ask to no one in particular
" About a week or so." My mum answered.
" Doesn't she know what happened to me, and she's still there." I just want to verify if she's involved with that hoax with Gabe, and since I can't get anything from Nyphrin, I figured I might gain one or two by asking my parents and Gabe.
" Obviously she knows, but she said and I quote, ' it has nothing to do with me, so I'm not coming back, I'm busy with Aunt Nerlin, so don't bother me.' duhh!!. " Maxx responds sacarsticly. I can still remember that in the original plotline it was Rowan and Maxx that bullied Evelyn, that is according to what the system provided.
[ I wonder how Maxx ended up in the original story, cause I know Rowan and my parents had it tough before they died. ] I asked Nyphrin
[ Trust me you definitely don't want to know .] she said.

" You don't need to feel bad over it, Evelyn has always been closer to Nerlin than us." mum shared a fleeting glance with dad before lowering her head, eyes focused on the beef she was trying to cut.
" No. . . I'm not. . . I just found it weird that after hearing about what happened to me, my big sis didn't deem it fit to come see me."
" End the topic. . . Let's not talk about anything negative at the dinning table."
" Just thinking about her, already whets my appetite." Maxx mumbled, as he casually kept picking at his plate.
" Alright, no need to be in a bad mood, Rowan dear, do you have any plans for today, or are you staying at home." Mum said, trying to diffuse the air.
I wasn't doing anything outside, if it's not mission required,

A system alert rings, followed up by a robotic voice, not Nyphrin's.

"Mum, Dad, I'm going to the state library"
The clattering of spoons on plates stopped, it felt like an explosive news was dumped on them, as they all looked at Rowan with incredulous looks, even Maxx's mouth was wide open in shock.
" Is there any problem with me going to the library, if you don't want, I can stay at home." at most I'll sneak out when no one's watching.
" ( Clears throat ) nothing is wrong with you going to the library, You can go now, if you want,"

" First you asked about Evelyn, now you want to go to the library, did you hit your head that bad. "
I have him an eye roll, he's always going off point, talking about hitting my head, that's what they all assumed when I was plagued with that headache from memory transfer I received, anyways, as long as I don't need to explain anythy, they can assume all they want.
" No need for that eye roll, I think you need to hit your head more, or I can even help you with that."

"No need to stop, it's not like I haven't heard this a bizillion times already." Maxx offers dryly.
"Do you want me to go with you"
"No, I don't need you distracting me from reading." I say as I quickly leave the dinning table running upstairs to escape them
"He's so shy," mum says to dad, as she held hands with him across the table sharing a dovey eye contact with him
" Okay I'm out now", Maxx said and then escapes too
" Haha." mum and dad laughed, sharing a knowing look
