Chapter 33 - Do You Like Someone?

After some discussion and learning from Noelle that Quinn was infamous in Mondstadt for being a heavy drinker. So they decided to choose a present related to wine.

"Speaking of presents... If it were me, I'd like roses!"

"As for the Honorary Knight... hmm..." Noelle looked curiously at the two people beside her. "Would they like handmade items?"

"Roses and handmade items are both fine with me." Lumine said with a smile.

Hearing Lumine's answer, Noelle realized the ambiguity in her words and her cheeks flushed slightly. "Ah...I-I... What about Miss Jibril...?"

[T/L: Is Noelle a minor? I remember hearing about how she's a minor.]

Despite knowing each other for a short time, Noelle can already tell that Lumine was a nice and gentle person.

But Jibril was different.

Noelle still couldn't quite understand her.

There was a strange feeling about Jibril, she always seemed more confident and proud than any knight Noelle had ever met.

Who, then, was special in her eyes?

Perhaps in those golden crossed eyes, there were still many unspoken things and unexpressed emotions surging within.

Noelle was always good at discerning others' emotions as this was an important part of her training and her way of protecting Mondstadt.

At this moment, the girl was mustering her courage while trying to take a step closer to the Flügel.

"Me? I don't really want any gifts."

In fact, after waking up with some power, Jibril had recently felt a sense of I lack nothing.

Are kings, generals, and prime ministers born into their positions?

[T/L: I didn't sign up for a philosophy class...]

If not for the Heavenly Principles above who could throw down punishment at any moment, Teyvat would have long since been destroyed.

"Eh?"

Jibril tilted her head towards the maid beside her and smiled naturally. "Are you that worried about my answer? I believe that the gift itself isn't important but more rather, the thought behind it. Just like with Quinn and Beatrice."

Noelle blinked in confusion.

"Ah... I remember there was a saying..." The Flügel said as she rubbed her forehead.

Lumine, who had been walking beside her, had started to pay more attention while subtly getting closer.

"Love knows no right or wrong. Love is. Only is."

Yes, there's fundamentally no right or wrong.

No matter what some people do, they will never be able to win another's love. But just because a person says they don't love you, means that everything you do is wrong.

Of course, none of the girls present had much romantic experience. Even Jibril herself was merely quoting.

"Big Sister Jibril, do you have someone you like?" Klee gently tugged at the Flügel's hand.

Lumine: "!!!"

She gently held Klee's hand as an indescribable bitterness spread through her heart.

Someone she likes..?

Asking her this... as someone who's only experience of holding hands with the opposite gender was just with her father...

Jibril then looked over at Lumine after feeling an intense stare towards her.

She recalled the faint scent that had lingered when they were close that night.

She recalled the warmth of the girl unconsciously curling into her arms.

The darkness of the night and the persistent sound of a heartbeat.

Jibril opened her mouth but then stopped as she swallowed the no she had already prepared.

"Children don't need to be curious about such things."

Klee nodded, half-understanding and quickly put her confusion out of her mind.

Noelle, meanwhile, seemed to still be pondering something, pursing her lips thoughtfully.

"Alright! Let's help Miss Beatrice choose a gift first, we don't want to keep her waiting!" Lumine clapped her hands and skipped forward with light steps.

The wind chimes of the shop jingled crisply.

At this moment, the woman standing in front of the display window also noticed the group.

"Welcome to With Wind comes Glory! Oh, Noelle and the Honorary Knight... so many people!"

Marjorie's gaze swept over them while she greeted them warmly. "What wind blew you all together, and little Klee too? It's rare to see Noelle shopping with anyone normally."

"Eh, is it rare?" Lumine asked curiously.

"After all, when Noelle works, she always finishes everything by herself." Marjorie said while wiping the ornaments in her hand. "But after finishing one task, she then does another one... it feels as if she never gets any rest."

"If you don't spend any time on yourself, you'll soon come to regret it."

Noelle nervously twisted the hem of her skirt as her voice grew softer. "I-I am resting today..."

"Hmm? With the Honorary Knight...?"

Looking at the two girls standing on either side of Noelle, Marjorie's eyes gradually sharpened.

She beckoned Noelle to come over. While Noelle was confused, she still obediently went closer.

Marjorie leaned in close to the girl and whispered. "Noelle, this is truly... something to celebrate, but I must add a word of advice."

"???"

"Love for one person cannot be hidden, but love for two must definitely be hidden."

Noelle first blinked in confusion and a few seconds later, seemingly realizing the meaning of her words. Blush spread from the tip of her ears all the way to her neck.

"I didn't... Mph—"

She frantically covered her mouth, her armor clinking softly as she stepped back and in the end, she could only glare fiercely at the smiling woman.

[Damn NPC! It should be Lumine and Jibril!] The system let out a sharp screech.

'This shitty dog system...'

Lumine stepped forward in confusion as she steady Noelle's swaying body. Jibril looked at Marjorie with a rather speechless expression. "You've misunderstood. We're here to choose a gift for someone else."

"Eh! Miss Jibril must have some good hearing... Haha, but it doesn't matter; there's always give and take, right?"

"D-Don't tease me..."
