Angel Trigger stared at him with a cold look and the subordinate immediately lowered his hand. "Shut up."
"Yes, sir."
The convoy continued and eventually, they were forced onto a freeway that none of them had originally planned to take.
It stretched through a quieter section of the city with tall barriers lined on either sides.
There were fewer buildings, practically no traffic and less noise.
Angel Trigger sat silently with his fingers tapping against the armrest as they simply continued moving.
Something felt strange but he couldn't explain why.
A voice suddenly came from one of the vehicles behind as a subordinate sitting near the front window looked around. "Isn't it strange?"
"What?"
"We haven't seen any vehicles on this freeway for a while."
A brief silence reigned as the man continued. "Like..."
He leaned closer to the window. "Not even one."
That statement caught their attention and another awakened looked outside to confirm this.
