Lena stood there uncertainly for a moment and then moved closer.
She sat beside him and their shoulders nearly touched.
"I messed up," she whispered.
West remained silent as she edged closer.
Her thigh brushed his.
"In more ways than one."
He glanced at her sideways.
"You had choices."
"I know."
"And you made them."
She lowered her gaze.
"Yes."
There was tension in the air now but it wasn't fiery or desperate, it was more regret filled.
Lena shifted closer again, almost leaning into him.
"I'm really sorry," she murmured.
West didn't respond immediately.
Instead, he let the silence stretch, letting her drown in more uncertainty...
Then he suddenly voiced out a command that left her startled for a second.
"Kneel."
Lena had a surprised look like she wasn't sure she heard him properly until he turned to her and repeated his words.
"Kneel!"
