Chapter 11 - Finn Vs Golgoth

FLAME PRINCESS

The pillar of fire seemed to aluminate the desert more than the sun which seemed to dwindle although it was mid day.

Finn's body erupted in flames and I felt my heart stop for a singular moment, both Kaiser and Golgoth stopped dead in their tracks, confusion etched deeply.

Seconds ticked by slowly, guilt swallowed my heart as I believed I made a mistake, Finn couldn't survive my flames. I had killed my friend, my stupid thinking had killed him.

"I'll be fine".

Those words echoed back in my head, Finn didn't scream, I could see not hear any squirming, he was as silent and as still as a statue.

Then the flames started to part, turning into slick streams which got sucked into something. Eventually the flames reduced enough for him to become visible, he stood slightly hunched over, his blue eyes seemed to glow slightly-possibly from the light of the flames or something else.

Patches of his clothes were burnt over along with some of his skin, pink marks were scattered upon his legs, exposed torso and mainly on his arms where he held his now raging sword.

The black blade-now magenta red, had ignited in blazing glory, it seemed almost to boost my power but kept a stern bit of control. There was still a heap of flames over the blade section of the sword but it wasn't overly violent.

Finn looked up at Golgoth, his eyes carrying a layer of intent and focus. He widened his feet and reaffirmed his grip on the sword, raising it a bit higher. The fire followed the sword and Finns movement almost in tandem, Finn let out a slight smirk, a confident one.

"Ready for round two??".

His words suprised me, not only had he managed to control my flames like they were his but he's wasting no time to continue his bout.

Finn dashed towards him-or so I thought, he seemed arguably faster than before but not fast enough that I couldn't keep track so when I noticed his feet turn mid dash, I knew something was at foot.

Golgoth already sprung out his sword to defend his attack but Finn changed directions quickly, going after his partner instead.

Catching all of us off guard he leapt to Kaiser, he hadn't the time to steady himself, reassess the situation or even get out of his daze before his head was cut clean off.

Kaisers head crashed not too far away from me, the surprise still etched onto his muscular face. Finn stood calmly behind his now decapitated body-not even bothering to face it. It seemed to wobble and then fall unnaturally slow, landing mere inches behind him.

"I've handled this guy Flame Princess", Finn said, turning to me with a slight smile his voice carrying a layer of gentleness even after cutting someone's head off. "Get yourself some rest".

He then turned to Golgoth and started walking ever so slowly, his feet even stepping on the leaking blood coming from his foes body.

"Finn Mertens…I shall ensure you don't see tomorrow", The Lizardman spoke with a lot less arrogance in his tone.

"Yeah, yeah, come at me already".

And with that they lunged to each other, streaks of flames scattered in the dusty air as their blades clashed. Strikes came strong and fast, light shockwaves escaped after each collision.

They both seemed to be moving at their peak speed but one started faltering, after each clash, Finn covered ground quicker. He began attacking harder and before you knew it Golgoth was the one at the defending end.

He kicked Finn away, creating distance between them and the fight cooled for a millisecond but it was enough to notice the various cut marks all over Golgoths body, my flames seemed to sharpen the blade substantially and now it can do quite the amount of damage to the Lizardman.

Finn swing his sword in the air in the direction towards Golgoth-whether it was a mistake or it was planned I had no clue but a streak of fire came at him.

Golgoth quickly ducked out the way of the fire slash but he turned back only to see the smile on Finn's face intensify, before I knew it Finn sent various streaks of flames at him.

Golgoth jumped and turned, narrowly evading the fire but not without any rest or hold up Finn came quickly slashing down at him.

Golgoth jumped back but not without a long cut from the base of his head down to the under of the left eye.

The Lizardman began to pant while holding onto his bleeding eye, "Damned Humans!! How dare you cut me!!".

"Your kind is just filled with crazed monsters".

Finn stopped in his tracks as Golgoth dropped to one knee, clutching his head in his hands while screaming at the top of his lungs.

"I'll kill you!!".

"I'll kill you!!! I swear it!!".

"I swore it!! The day my people perished at the hands of you humans!!".

"I swore it!! How dare I forget!!".

"I'll kill you! I'll kill you! I'll kill you!! I'll kill you!! I'll kill you!! I'll kill you!! I'll kill you!! I'll kill you!! I'll kill you!!! I'll kill you!!!".

"I'll rip you apart! I'll destroy you! I'll feast on you!! I'll bloody mangle you!!".

"I'll fucking kill you all!!!".

Finn looked over at me, a layer of confusion etched on his face, then he turned back to Golgoth and said, "I don't know what you mean! What humans killed your people".

"Shut up!!".

"Listen to me!!", Finn yelled back.

"If I don't have to kill you, I'd rather not".

"I said shut up!!", Golgoth got back onto his two feet and slowly grabbed at his giant sword.

He slammed it into the floor while letting out a roar, bloodlust seeped from him from every possible angle.

His bloodshot eyes made me feel like I was watching a raging fire fuelled by only his emotions, sorrow, confusion but most of all anger.
