"X-Men, attack."
Onboard the supersonic jet, Beast Hank opened the hatch, and Professor X led the X-Men down to the island's surface.
Facing three Hellfire Club mutants across the field, Professor X did not use his powers—he left the stage to his X-Men.
"Finally, it's our turn." Siren Sean Cassidy, clad in his titanium alloy glider, tilted his head slightly and let out a high-frequency scream.
Whoosh.
The recoil from his scream propelled Siren Sean into the air. He soared above the three Hellfire mutants and then dove swiftly toward them, positioning himself directly overhead.
Boom.
The three Red Devils felt as if their skulls had been struck by a massive hammer; the deafening scream left them dizzy and disoriented.
"Salvador, deal with the sea monster," Red Devil Azazu said, shaking his head, before grabbing Dragonfly girl Salvador and hurling her into the air.
Bang.
Salvador vanished midair and reappeared above Siren Sean. Her dragonfly wings flapped rapidly, spraying a stream of potent acid.
Zzt zzt zzt.
The acid corroded the titanium alloy glider, leaving it in ruins.
Siren Sean had no choice but to take the attack seriously. Screeching again toward the ground, he began chasing Salvador in midair.
On the ground, Warpath Alex joined the fray. His body radiated red light as massive columns of energy erupted from the device on his chest.
The Flood Explorer, facing Warpath Alex's attack, unleashed two enormous tornadoes from his hands.
The red energy columns collided with the tornadoes, instantly turning the spinning vortex a blazing crimson. The tornadoes twisted violently, mixing with Alex's energy in a deadlock neither side could break.
Bang.
Behind Alex, Red Devil Azazu appeared. He grabbed Alex by the collar and hurled him skyward.
"Damn it!" Alex cursed in a flurry as Siren Sean, the sea monster, dove down and caught him mid-fall.
Roar.
Wolverine Logan let out a bestial roar, transforming into a wild lone wolf. With lightning-fast limbs, he lunged at Hei Huangxiao.
Bang.
Wolverine slammed Hei Huangxiao to the ground. His sharp claws pierced Hei Huangxiao's shoulders, gleaming with deadly force. Even Hei Huangxiao could not break free.
"Squid!" Hei Di Xiao, normally composed, spat a curse. She slammed Wolverine's body with her hand.
Boom.
Wolverine was sent flying tens of meters, colliding violently with a submarine on the shore.
"Falke…" Hei Di Xiao felt a rare pang of embarrassment. He rose angrily, hands clasped, and unleashed a surge of energy from within.
"Die!" Hei Huangxiao roared. His body, like a mini-nuclear bomb, began shaking violently.
He attempted to create a small nuclear explosion, enough to level the entire island.
"That embarrassment… has it turned into anger?" Lancelot observed from the deck, watching the monumental energy wave from the island and shook his head lightly.
"Hei Huangxiao's power development is pathetic," Lancelot murmured in disappointment, lightly stamping his right foot.
Boom!
A surge of energy erupted from Lancelot's foot. His body shot into the air.
Hovering above the island, Lancelot adjusted his energy output. Streams of power erupted from his hands and feet, propelling him forward like Superman.
Within seconds, he hovered above the island, ceasing his energy output.
Gravity-induced kinetic energy was immediately absorbed by Lancelot's body. The energy consumed during flight was replenished.
Silently, he landed in the center of the island, striking the iconic "superhero landing" pose.
"Lancelot!" Professor X and Magneto stared in astonishment at the descending figure, quickly standing side by side.
Hei Di Xiao, attempting a small nuclear detonation, noticed Lancelot—but it was too late.
The energy orb in his hand blazed, terrible power radiating uncontrollably from Hei Huangxiao's body.
Lancelot, however, merely glanced at Hei Di Xiao. He did not immediately use Geass. Instead, he lightly pressed his right foot to the ground, subtly adjusting the energy beneath him.
Hei Huangxiao's power—a variant ability—could absorb all forms of energy fluctuations and store them internally. Hei Huangxiao could then release this stored energy at will.
But brute release, while powerful, was too raw for Lancelot.
He intended to teach Hei Di Xiao a lesson.
Whoosh.
Lancelot released a controlled burst of energy. The stored power beneath his feet transformed into kinetic energy, propelling him forward at incredible speed, almost like a black panther on the ground.
Though Lancelot could absorb all energy, he was not made of vibranium. His running produced nearly no wasted energy—all of it absorbed by his body.
In moments, he appeared before Hei Huangxiao. His right hand snatched the red energy orb from Hei Huangxiao's palm.
"Absorb."
Lancelot's body acted like a black hole, drawing in all of Hei Di Xiao's released energy.
Bang.
Having absorbed the orb, Lancelot slapped Hei Huangxiao away. Then, with a subtle motion of his right hand:
"Energy Burst Mode."
A golden wave of energy enveloped Lancelot's body, making him resemble the future Captain Marvel. Floating above the ground, he defied gravity entirely.
"Come. Let's have a proper fight."
His ruby-red eyes now shimmered with golden light. Opening his right hand, a blinding beam shot across the sky, instantly striking Siren Sean and Dragonfly Salvador above him.
"My mutant brethren, behold the power of a king." Lancelot looked down at the mutants beneath him.
First, his gaze locked on Professor X.
"Geass."
"Never use your telepathy on me." A pair of birds shot from Lancelot's eyes, flying straight into Professor X's vision.
Professor X, who had intended to control Lancelot's mind, screamed in shock, staring in horror at the king before him.
