Chapter 22 - the calmness before storm

Today is a special day. It's the day when everyone is going to Enoy.

Today is a sunny yet windy day. Sunlight passes through the clouds while the wind moves them gently.

Shiraz is calm, but in such a cozy way. People occasionally talk. Carriages move around the streets of Shiraz at a steady speed. Kids play around. Wyverns with red hammer and axe tattoos fly above the city, protecting and helping people occasionally.

Inside the Dariush mansion, everything is calm—not quiet, just calm in a cozy way.

Dariush is in the living room. The fireplace is lit. Sunlight, even if low, casts into the room onto Dariush's seated form on the couch. He is leaned back and relaxed, occasionally tapping his foot on the ground beneath him.

He is wearing a black-gold attire that shows his ducal status perfectly. His black hair is clean, flawless, beautiful, and slightly messy, but it only makes him look perfect as it falls on his shoulders.

A moment later, Kian comes in. As prince of Nari, he wears a blue-silver princely attire. His blond hair is curly, flowing, and falls on his shoulders, while his blue eyes glisten slightly from the light in the room.

Kian softly says: "I am ready. Miss Cobra and Eira are still getting ready." (He smiles softly.)

Dariush turns to him and smirks: "Damn, you look better than any princess I've seen in my life already."

Kian is slightly caught off guard. His cheeks blush slightly, and he coughs awkwardly, then almost shyly says: "Thanks. You're not bad yourself."

Dariush's expression softens, and with a hint of playfulness, he says: "Thanks. Your eyes are seeing beauty... dear."

Kian blushes even more. He grins with playful anger: "You're lucky you have a wife." (He threatens him playfully.)

Dariush chuckles heartily. Kian can't help but giggle alongside him.

Kian sits on another couch across from him.

The silence between them is comfortable—a silence filled with the sound of the fireplace crackling occasionally and the wind moving through the leaves.

A moment later, Dariush turns to Kian and asks: "Why do you even want to come? You know you aren't forced to."

Kian, with a hint of seriousness in his soft voice, says: "My father said... But even if he didn't tell me... I would come anyway."

Dariush hums softly, a warm smile spreading on his face as he continues: "Thanks. I appreciate your presence."

Kian nods with a smile on his own face.

Just a moment later, Eira and Cobra both enter the room.

Eira is dressed like a queen in a duchess dress. Her dress is black with gold lines spread across it randomly. Her long red hair is flowing, flawless, and falls on her back and shoulders.

Cobra is beside Eira. She is wearing her new armor. Her new armor is light green, surely made of mithril. The armor covers every part of her body, yet it looks comfortable too. It fits her perfectly. Her helmet is in her right hand. She doesn't have a sword; instead, on the knuckles of her armor, there are sharp spikes.

Eira is the first to speak. Her voice is filled with pride and excitement: "We're ready, boys!"

Dariush and Kian turn their heads, clearly enjoying the view. Dariush whistles and says: "Damn, Eira, you look gorgeous. And you, Cobra, you look both intimidating and sexy all at once."

Kian smirks and says: "I can't deny that. He's right."

Both women blush slightly. Then Cobra playfully says: "Keep saying things like that, and you'll see what happens when you don't shut your mouths carefully, you little shits."

Kian and Dariush both burst out laughing heartily at her sharp tongue.

Eira exchanges an amused glance before joining them in laughter.

A few minutes later, everyone is outside the mansion in the front yard.

Eira turns to Dariush and asks: "Where is the carriage?"

Dariush, with a smirk on his lips, says: "I chose a worthy carriage. Just wait. It might be nearby already."

Just a moment later, the sound of metal comes—but more like metallic horse hooves.

The gate of the yard opens, and a carriage enters. A big carriage, pulled by three bronze horses. Steam comes from their noses; their cores are visible on their chests, red and moving through their metallic muscles.

The sound of their metallic hooves echoes in the atmosphere. The person driving the carriage is a male dwarf. His attire is proper and luxurious. His hair is orange, and he has a long orange beard that reaches his chest.

About Tetramor: In Tetramor, especially World 99, besides electricity, there is steam technology, but steam is dominant. Alongside these technologies, nether is used as another energy source—not like them, but with them.

Kian's expression shows mild fascination and pride. Cobra looks determined yet also fascinated. Eira is excited but controls herself.

Dariush nods with approval and a smirk.

The carriage stops slowly in front of them.

The dwarf, who sounds slightly old, says with respect in his tone: "The carriage is ready to go to Enoy, milord. We will move whenever you say."

Dariush smiles and says: "Good job. Very good job."

The dwarf's expression brightens visibly, and he nods with gratitude.

Dariush opens the carriage door and, with a flirtatious tone, says: "First... the queens and the prince." (He smiles warmly.)

Cobra blushes at the word "queen" and quickly puts on her helmet. Eira fans herself while blushing, murmuring something under her breath and smiling shyly. Kian looks away while his ears and neck burn red.

Dariush's smile turns into a teasing smirk, and he says: "Come on, beauties. We can't wait until night."

They are embarrassed by his words but move anyway. Kian murmurs something under his breath about him being perfect.

After they step inside the carriage, Dariush calls out softly to the dwarf: "We're ready. You can move."

The dwarf responds: "Yes, sir!"

Then he taps his foot three times before the horses start running at a steady speed.

Inside, the carriage is red with a mix of gold and purple. It's extremely luxurious, looking like it was made for a king and queen. Yet a duke, duchess, lioness, and a prince are inside it.

Dariush and Kian sit beside each other. Cobra and Eira sit together on the seats across from them.

Dariush leans back, crosses his arms and legs, and says: "We'll arrive by night. At the Enoy palace, there's a banquet tonight. Then tomorrow, there will be a long and big wedding ceremony in Enoy's biggest church—if we want to call it that."

Everyone nods gradually. Then Kian asks: "We're going to sleep in that palace for a night? Isn't that dangerous?"

Dariush sighs deeply and says: "We have no choice. But I might do something about it. Let's just wait until we arrive there."
