Chapter 64 - chapter 63

After the explosion, a huge white figure flew backward through the smoke and dust, crashing heavily to the ground.

The Gale Wolf King rolled across the earth, blood pouring from its head. One of its eyes had clearly taken a direct hit—burst open, with the shattered eyeball still hanging grotesquely from the corner of its socket.

"Hehe~ Hehe~"

As the dust slowly settled, Ye Qiu knelt on the ground, the intense pain in his eyes and body nearly unbearable. Using the first stage of Susanoo to block a Gale Wolf King with twenty thousand years of cultivation was still pushing him beyond his limits.

Ning Rongrong stared in shock at the blood-red, armor-like construct enveloping both her and Ye Qiu. Like exposed human ribs, a thick skeletal arm extended from behind, shielding Ye Qiu completely.

"Gurgle… Ye… Ye Qiu, what is this…?" she asked tremblingly.

"Miss Ning! Now is not the time to talk about that!" Ye Qiu shouted. "It's happening again!"

"Ooooh!"

The wolf king howled, stirring the entire pack as they surged forward once more.

Ye Qiu clenched his teeth, forcing himself to stay conscious while maintaining Susanoo. He hesitated, wondering whether he should abandon Chen Feng and Gu Luo and retreat into Kamui Space.

Suddenly, two terrifying auras descended from the sky, pressing down like mountains.

"You beasts… you are courting death!"

The voice was cold and hoarse, yet vast and imposing, sending shivers straight into the soul.

The wolf pack froze. As if sensing an absolute threat, they became restless and fled in the direction they had come from.

"It's Dad! Grandpa Sword! Grandpa Bone!"

Ning Rongrong cried out in joy, tears immediately filling her eyes. This time, they were tears of relief.

Have we finally survived…?

Ye Qiu relaxed his mind. The blood-red Susanoo dispersed, and he slowly raised his head.

A dark spatial rift slowly closed in the air.

Three figures stood suspended in the sky. Ye Qiu recognized two of them from the Tian Dou Auction House, where they had once stood upon a single sword.

Ning Fengzhi looked gentle and refined, like a spring breeze.

Sword Douluo Chen Xin had sharp, sword-like eyes, silver hair, and a body as straight as a blade.

The third figure was clad entirely in black. His white hair fell in individual strands, his face weathered and gaunt. He was exceptionally tall—not because of muscular bulk, but due to his broad, imposing frame.

This could only be one of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School's "Sky-Supporting White Jade Pillars and Sea-Spanning Purple Gold Beams"—Bone Douluo Gu Rong, known as the number one defender!

Unexpectedly, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School had mobilized all of its top-tier combat forces just to save Ning Rongrong, this little devil. Even the usual practice of leaving behind a Title Douluo to guard the sect had been temporarily abandoned.

"Still want to run?"

Sword Douluo brought his index and middle fingers together and slashed downward.

Biubiubiu—

A rain of swords fell from the sky, instantly turning the remaining wolves into pincushions.

In the hands of a Title Douluo, even a pack of soul beasts was nothing more than a group of oversized ants.

Three streams of seven-colored light descended, landing on Ye Qiu, Chen Feng, and Gu Luo, rapidly healing their injuries.

The three figures landed on the ground.

Ning Fengzhi held his staff in one hand and the Seven Treasures Glazed Pagoda in the other, his purple soul rings slowly revolving around him. He then turned and glared furiously at Ning Rongrong.

"Daddy! Grandpa Sword! Grandpa Bone! You're finally here! Waaah—!"

The pampered little princess had been truly terrified.

She broke free from Ye Qiu's arms and ran straight toward Ning Fengzhi.

"Hmph! You really went too far this time!" Ning Fengzhi said angrily.

"Fengzhi! What did you just say?" Gu Rong glared at him, then squatted down and took Ning Rongrong's small hand. "Rongrong, come here. Let Grandpa Gu check if you're hurt."

Sword Douluo glanced at Ye Qiu, who was sitting cross-legged on the ground, a trace of curiosity flashing in his eyes.

"Uncle Bone, you'll only spoil her like this… How am I supposed to explain the deaths of these disciples to their families?" Ning Fengzhi said, then looked at Ning Rongrong with disappointment in his gaze.

"Waaah… I'm sorry! I… I didn't want this to happen…" Ning Rongrong cried uncontrollably.

Sword Douluo sighed inwardly, feeling some sympathy.

"Alright, alright. We'll talk about this after we return."

"Brother~!"

Xiao Lan's anxious voice came from a distance.

Ning Fengzhi and the others turned their heads.

Xiao Lan ran toward Ye Qiu, followed closely by Ning Tian and the remaining disciples.

"It really is the sect master and the two elders! We're saved!" The survivors collapsed onto the ground in relief.

"Father… Father…" Ning Tian lowered his head, not daring to meet Ning Fengzhi's gaze.

"Hmph! I'll deal with you after we return!"

Ning Tian stood silently with his head lowered, bitterness filling his heart.

"Alright, alright! Stop sulking. Why are you just standing there? Aren't you going to help them?"

Ning Fengzhi waved his hand. Though Ning Rongrong was troublesome, Ning Tian still bore responsibility for what happened.

"Understood, Father…" Ning Tian replied respectfully, then helped Chen Feng and Gu Luo up along with the remaining disciples.

"Brother!"

Xiao Lan rushed to Ye Qiu's side.

She sat cross-legged behind him, two spirit rings rising beneath her feet. Green light gathered in both her palms as she pressed them against Ye Qiu's back to heal him.

"Expand your territory!"

Blue Silver Grass spread across the ground, rosary-like vines glowing as specks of starlight seeped into Ye Qiu's body.

Sword Douluo frowned deeply.

"This is… a domain?!"

Chen Xin's pupils contracted as he stared at Ye Qiu in shock.

"Uncle Jian, are you certain?" Ning Fengzhi asked, equally astonished. How could someone so young possess a domain—a power usually reserved for Title Douluo?

"There's no mistake," Sword Douluo replied firmly. "I possess the Seven Kill Domain myself. Also… that kid clearly used a Martial Soul True Form just now!"

They had arrived just as the Gale Wolf King charged forward, witnessing everything Ye Qiu had done.

"Martial Soul True Form…" Ning Rongrong murmured. Her tear-soaked eyelashes trembled as curiosity filled her blue eyes.

"Swordsman, is this the kid you mentioned last time?" Gu Rong stroked his chin. "He's definitely extraordinary."

"Not just extraordinary—he's a monster," Ning Fengzhi said with a bitter smile. "Both siblings are monsters. One, at the level of a Great Soul Master, can use Martial Soul True Form. The other possesses a terrifying domain."

"Dad, we owe Ye Qiu our lives," Ning Rongrong said seriously. "Otherwise, Fourth Brother and I wouldn't be standing here…"

She recounted everything they had faced.

"Huh?!" Ning Fengzhi exclaimed.

"Dad, what's wrong?"

"Isn't that little girl growing far too fast?" He glanced at Xiao Lan.

"It does seem that way… She was much smaller before," Ning Rongrong muttered, wiping her tears and staring more closely.

On the other side, Ning Tian had already placed Chen Feng and Gu Luo onto stretchers. With broken ribs and internal injuries, they would need a long time to recover.

Ye Qiu finished healing and opened his eyes, only to see Xiao Lan staring at him anxiously.

"Ah! Brother~ Are you alright?" She threw herself into his arms.

"Hehe… I'm fine," he replied, patting her head. With Xiao Lan and Ning Fengzhi's help, his condition had improved significantly.

Ning Fengzhi and the others stood before him.

"Brother Ye Qiu, we meet again," Ning Fengzhi said, smiling gently as ever.
