Chapter 45 - chapter 44

"Understood, Big Brother!" the others replied in unison.

"Work hard. Finish this job, and I'll take you all to a brothel afterward! Hahaha—!"

"Brother Tiger! Look—there's someone riding a soul beast!"

A lean man with a hooked nose suddenly pointed ahead.

"Riding a soul beast?" His companion burst out laughing. "Yin Yan, are your eyes playing tricks on you? I've never seen anyone tame a soul beast as a mount!"

"playing tricks?" Yin Yan sneered. "You think my Black Eagle Martial Soul's vision is for decoration?"

Ignoring them, he shouted toward Wang Hu, who was standing atop the iron cage.

"Brother Tiger, I'm absolutely certain! That kid is riding a Jade-Eyed Cloud-Winged Tiger, just over a thousand years old!"

Slap!

Wang Hu slapped his thigh, stood up, and squinted into the distance—but could only make out a blurry silhouette.

Naturally, Yin Yan understood his elder brother's concern.

"Don't worry, Big Brother. That kid is at most ten years old. How could he possibly be your match?"

Wang Hu's eyes lit up instantly. He tossed the severed arm in his hand into the cage.

"Brothers! We've got a new order! Move in Yin Yan's direction! Yin Yan, you lead the charge!"

"Understood!"

With a sharp eagle cry, Yin Yan spread a pair of wings from his back and shot toward Ye Qiu's direction.

Ye Qiu, riding forward, suddenly noticed a black dot in the sky to his right.

In the next instant, the figure appeared directly above him.

"Kid! Stop right there! Third Soul Skill—Arrow Feather!"

Three spirit rings—white, yellow, and purple—rose around Yin Yan as the purple ring lit up.

Dozens of arrow-like feathers burst from his wings and rained down toward Ye Qiu.

Tuk! Tuk! Tuk!

Ye Qiu immediately reined in the tiger. The feathers embedded themselves into the ground, missing him completely.

Hovering in midair, Yin Yan stared down coldly.

Dust billowed in the distance as the rest of the Black Tiger Mercenary Group quickly surrounded Ye Qiu.

"What do you want?" Ye Qiu asked calmly.

This was his first time encountering bandits.

According to his Sharingan, the strongest among them was only a Soul Master—nothing to be afraid of.

A dark-skinned, muscular man stepped forward. With every step, a spirit ring rose beneath his feet.

Four steps.

Four spirit rings.

His muscles bulged, and tiger-like markings appeared across his face.

"Boy! Hand over what's between your legs! I'll spare your life!"

Yin Yan sneered from the air.

"And tell us your secret to controlling soul beasts!"

"Right, right!" Wang Hu narrowed his eyes greedily. "Tell me how you do it!"

"…"

Several black lines appeared on Ye Qiu's forehead.

Anyone who didn't know better would think he was the one with the Tiger Martial Soul.

What the hell is 'the thing between my legs'?

Before Ye Qiu could respond, Lan Yinhuang's anxious voice sounded in his mind.

"Brother~ hurry… that feeling… it's about to disappear…"

"Alright, alright. I'm coming," Ye Qiu replied mentally.

"Kid! Have you thought it through? Our Big Brother is a Soul Master—don't test his patience!"

"Pfft… hehe…"

Ye Qiu let out a mocking laugh.

"Just a useless Soul Master with a purple ring."

His Mangekyō Sharingan activated silently.

"Hurry up," he said casually. "I'm in a rush."

"You little brat! You're courting death!" Wang Hu roared. "I'll capture you and feed you to the wolves!"

"Feed me to the wolves?"

Ye Qiu's expression turned icy when he noticed the bloodstains around the wolves' mouths in the iron cage.

"You've already chosen your own death."

The mercenaries grinned cruelly as Wang Hu charged forward.

But the moment he moved, a deep sense of unease surged through him.

The surroundings suddenly changed.

Crimson space.

Cross-shaped restraints.

Wang Hu's pupils shrank in terror.

Star Dou Great Forest… I should still be there—!

The boy who had been riding the soul beast now stood before him, eyes devoid of emotion.

"I'll stab you… for an entire day and night."

"AHHH—!!!"

Wang Hu's screams echoed endlessly.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

One after another, invisible blades pierced his body.

Outside, the smiles on the mercenaries' faces froze.

Wang Hu—who had just charged forward—suddenly collapsed to his knees.

"What… what's going on?!"

Wang Hu looked as if he had just been dragged out of water.

His martial soul had dissipated.

Trembling, he propped himself up with both hands, eyes filled with absolute panic.

His body no longer obeyed him.

"Tch. Just a paper tiger."

Thump!

Before anyone could react, Ye Qiu had already urged the tiger forward, and Wang Hu was snatched up in its jaws.

"Big Brother!" Yin Yan shouted in shock.

His naturally cautious instincts kicked in immediately.

"This kid is strange! Everyone—attack together!"

Yin Yan swooped down from the air as the others rushed forward simultaneously.

"Everyone keeps saying I'm in a hurry," Ye Qiu muttered.

The Jade-Eyed Cloud-Winged Tiger flapped its wings, kicking up a massive cloud of dust and forcing the attackers back.

"Amaterasu!"

Ye Qiu tilted his head back.

Bright red blood streamed from his right eye.

"AH—!"

Just as Yin Yan was about to activate his soul skills midair, black flames erupted from his body.

"Help me—!"

In just a few breaths, he crashed to the ground, completely engulfed.

The remaining mercenaries charged again, unleashing their soul skills.

"First Soul Skill—Entanglement!"

"Second Soul Skill—Ghost Claw!"

"Third Soul Skill—Iron Mountain Lean!"

"Second Soul Skill—Five-Strike Whip!"

...

"Brother~ hurry…"

The Blue Silver Emperor's anxious urging made Ye Qiu lose patience.

"Sigh… I guess there's no other way."

He closed his eyes—then opened them sharply.

"Susanoo!"

A massive, blood-red skeletal arm materialized, towering over the battlefield.

"What is that?! Run!"

Someone finally realized the danger.

Too late.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The arm swept outward in a single motion.

Soul skills shattered instantly.

Blood mist exploded into the air.

Some chests collapsed inward.

Others had their skulls crushed.

The power of Susanoo was absolute.

From the moment they attacked to the moment they died—it took only a few breaths.

In the distance, the eagle martial soul user had already burned to ashes.

Those who survived, staring at the shredded bodies and groaning wounded, collapsed to their knees, trembling and begging for mercy.

Ye Qiu ignored them.

His gaze shifted to the iron cage.

"Divine Might."

The iron bars twisted violently and snapped apart, creating a gaping opening.

"So… you said you'd feed me to the wolves?"

Despite the pain wracking his body, Ye Qiu laughed coldly.

"No! Let me go!" Wang Hu babbled deliriously, drool dripping from his mouth as he begged for mercy.

Ye Qiu didn't listen.

"I told you," he said calmly, "I'm in a hurry."

Whoosh!

At Ye Qiu's signal, the Jade-Eyed Cloud-Winged Tiger flicked its head.

Wang Hu was thrown directly into the cage.

"No—AHHH—!"

"Awooo—!"

When Ye Qiu used Tsukuyomi, he deliberately restrained its power—destroying the mind while keeping the victim conscious.

The howls of the starving wolves mixed with Wang Hu's screams as Ye Qiu urged the tiger forward.

A trail of blood stretched behind them.

"Brother… you're amazing~"

"Focus and keep pointing the way," Ye Qiu grinned.

A faint stinging sensation spread through his body, but as he activated the Blue Silver Emperor right leg bone, cool energy surged through him, erasing the backlash of briefly using Susanoo.

"Hm?"

As the leg bone activated, Ye Qiu could vaguely sense the same call.

That sealed it.

It's definitely the Blue Silver Forest.

The Jade-Eyed Cloud-Winged Tiger sprinted through the crimson sunset—running as if reclaiming its lost freedom.

The sun was almost completely below the horizon, red clouds setting the sky ablaze.

"Brother… almost… almost there!"
