Chapter 60: Curses

One month later.

Inside the training area located underneath the Rannoch Lake.

Harry had chosen a corner of the massive chamber to set up a comfortable place to read in peace.

He had sofas, chairs, tables, and several bookshelves.

Harry had carefully placed the black tome on its own table, from where it never moved, unless he wanted to take it away.

Morgan didn't like having this book inside her shop, so he had no choice but to bring it here.

"She doesn't like you, but you were the only way to do this." Harry moved his hand, and his wand appeared.

He muttered something under his breath, and a moment later, powerful white chains manifested into existence and wrapped themselves around the training dummy he had prepared.

"मुद्राङ्कनम्‌! (Seal)"

The chains attached to the dummy's body, fusing themselves to its material while also preventing any movement from its limbs.

Harry stood up and walked closer to the dummy so he could get a better look.

"Mmm… it does appear to be exactly the same as when I used it on Morgan." He nodded and took several steps away from the dummy.

"Okay, let's see if I can properly break it now." He had been studying the text and practicing this curse for almost a month now, but before he actually tried it on her again, he wanted to make a few tests on the dummies.

Harry aimed his wand at the dummy. In the past, he would have used his staff for this, but now he had learned that wands were much better for intricate spellwork such as this.

He began to mutter the same chant as before, except that this time, he was saying it backwards.

Once it was completed, he jabbed his wand towards the target.

"अनसील् (Unseal)"

The effects could immediately be seen. The white chains separated from the dummy and began to dissolve into light particles, leaving nothing behind.

No visible damage was left on the dummy.

"Uff… finally. It works." Harry said with relief.

He could now fix his mistake, at least.

"I'd better do a few more tests before going back."

Morgan watched in awe as the chains dissolved from her body and turned into particles of light.

She remained silent for a good minute after that, just staring at something that had accompanied her for over a millennium and was no longer there.

Harry waited patiently for her to say something. He couldn't imagine how she felt at that moment.

Morgan tried not to show it, but being tied down by the sealing spell for so long had truly affected her.

Tears formed in her eyes, but Morgan used her sleeves to quickly remove them and looked away from Harry.

"You didn't see that!"

Harry smiled.

"I saw nothing at all."

"Are they really gone for good? Are they not coming back?" Morgan asked, just to make sure.

"The curse has been completely removed this time. They will never come back. So you are free to wander the world now," Harry told her.

"I…" She glanced at the door of the shop. "I haven't been outside London in over 1500 years. This has been most of my life."

"I understand. There is no need to rush things. Take your time adapting to your newfound freedom," Harry told her.

"Yes, I will do that. I mean… what's the hurry?" Morgan looked over the shelves of her shop.

Harry noticed she was staring at one particular box. One that he knew very well.

"Are you hungry?"

Morgan nodded.

"It's been a while since I drank. Now that the chains are gone, it's like… the thirst is more intense than before."

Harry observed her carefully.

"I figured something like that could happen. Your mind was previously occupied by the seal, but now… that has to be filled by something else."

Morgan rolled her eyes.

"Wonderful. If it's not one thing, it's another." She walked up to the shelf and picked up the box.

After carefully placing it on the counter, she opened it up, revealing several glass vials stored inside.

She pulled one up. There was thick red liquid inside.

Morgan removed the cork and drank its contents.

"Uff…."

"Better?" Harry asked. He could tell that she was far from satisfied with that.

"A bit, yes." Morgan frowned. She was about to grab another vial when Harry spoke again.

"I don't think that will satisfy you anymore. The potion is nothing but a cheap substitute for the real thing," Harry said.

Morgan glared at him.

"You knew this would happen?"

"No. My mind was busy with the task of removing the chains. But seeing your reaction, I was able to make sense of it. Your body is trying to recover after having been restricted for so long. And for that, it is demanding that you drink."

"I will not do that!" Morgan exclaimed.

"Damn it, Merlin. You know how much I hate blood. That's why I spent so long designing this potion."

"But the potion is, at best, one-fifth as effective as the real thing."

"That is more than enough."

"It keeps you in a weak state." Harry pointed out an obvious fact that she already knew but needed to hear from him.

"Tsk! So you removed one curse, but it just made the other one stronger." Morgan scoffed.

"No, it merely revealed a problem that was already there to begin with. But this one has a much easier solution… drink," Harry said.

Morgan's amber eyes began to glow as her anger intensified.

"No!" she shouted.

"I know why you hate blood so much." Harry moved closer.

"You don't. I never told you."

"You didn't have to tell me. I know you, Morgan. You are a kind woman, and you hate being forced to prey on others for your survival." Harry spoke calmly as he moved closer to the angry witch.

"You take that back!" As she shouted, her magic reacted to her fury, pushing things away from her.

"You don't know what happens when I drink blood… I sometimes lose control and become… something else. Something ugly." She wore an expression of disgust.

"That won't happen for as long as I am here," Harry said.

"I will never allow you to lose yourself. Not again."

"Merlin…"

Harry stopped right in front of her. Their faces were mere inches away, and he felt her magic trying to shove him away.

"We are in the midst of a war. And I don't think I can do all the fighting by myself. I will need you at my side."

She remained silent, so he gave her another push.

"To end this… I need the real Morgan Le Fay. So stop holding back already!" Harry used his own magic to cancel her outburst.

Morgan flinched and was taken aback by how much his power had already grown.

On the day they met in the alley, she was much more powerful than he was, and he had to resort to the use of the chains just to stop her.

But right now, in her weakened state… her instincts were warning her that Merlin would be capable of crushing her with ease.

"W-what are you doing?" She saw Merlin easing the potency of his magic before using his right hand to move the robes away from his neck.

"What do you think? You don't want to feed from others, I can understand that. So I will let you take my blood instead." Harry tilted his head to one side to make it easier.

"I…" Sparks of red started to appear in Morgan's eyes. She could see the veins in Merlin's neck moving… pulsating with the delicious red liquid.

"Don't hold back anymore. I will stop you if you start to lose your senses," Harry promised her.

"You know I can stop you… Now, come on. Drink!"

Morgan opened her mouth, revealing two long fangs. She could not help but lick her lips before lunging at him… and biting into his neck.
