The interior of the Prime Archive defied the laws of the world outside. As Kaelen and Lyra were marched inside by the Sentinels, the walls ceased to be stone or metal. They were made of "Solid Light" shimmering curtains of data that flowed like water.
"This is the mind of the world," Silas said, his voice echoing in the vast, hollow sphere. He gestured to the floating geometric shapes around them. "The Founders didn't just store books here, Kaelen. They stored the blueprints of existence. I can rewrite the geography of the continent with a single command."
Kaelen felt his modern mind reeling. He recognized the interface; it was a haptic holographic system, but a million years beyond anything 21st-century Earth had imagined.
"You're playing with a fire you don't understand, Silas," Kaelen said, his eyes scanning for a weakness. "This isn't a tool for a king. It's a self-correcting system. If you change too much, it will trigger the Reset to protect the planet."
