Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Pages That Stirred the Past

One quiet evening, after finishing his shower, Yugh returned to his room feeling unusually restless. He walked toward the drawer beside his bed and pulled out the diary he had found earlier; Zahra's diary. Stepping onto the balcony, he settled into the lone armchair placed there, the cool night air brushing against his damp hair. His intention was clear: he wanted to read further, even though he knew it might hurt.

He slowly opened the diary. 👀

Zahra had written about making "malpua" for the first time because Yugh loved sweet food. As Yugh read the words, his chest tightened. She had taken the sweets to him with hope in her heart, only to find him busy playing video games. He remembered that day vaguely, how distracted he had been, how he had barely looked at her. Zahra had waited, expecting him to say they tasted good. Instead, he had eaten them silently, eyes glued to the screen. Reading that she had felt both sadness and a small happiness because he finished them all made his throat ache with regret. 😥

He turned the page.

Zahra had described a calm, beautiful day. She had written about going to meet him at the park, about how time disappeared when she was with him, and how surprisingly similar their taste in music was. She had even guessed he would wear black because, like her, he loved dark colors, and so she chose a black dress too. 👗

Yugh stopped reading.

A storm of emotions crashed into him at once; sadness, guilt, regret, curiosity, and a sharp, unsettling suspicion. He closed the diary and placed it back into the drawer, but his mind refused to rest.

Who was this "him"?

Who had Zahra gone to meet?

Who had been waiting for her at the park?

The questions echoed relentlessly in Yugh's mind, leaving behind a deep, unsettling turmoil that refused to fade. 😵
