Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: A Foolish Mind

"Prohibited Spell? Infernal Flame of the Heavens!"

Ye Lin roared as a purple and red flame emerged from his hand, burning like a demonic lotus.

The flame then fell onto a pile of dry firewood, setting it ablaze. If outsiders witnessed this scene, they would surely be stunned. It was as absurd as using a nuclear bomb to light a cigarette.

After a day of frenzied killing, Ye Lin's level had risen to 3. The prohibited spell he unlocked at level 3 was the Infernal Flame of the Heavens. Just like the Cataclysmic Thunderbolt, this skill could summon boundless infernal flames from the Netherworld by sacrificing himself.

The higher the level, the more difficult it was to advance. For instance, it only took 1,000 experience points to go from level 1 to 2, but 2,000 to go from level 2 to 3, and 3,000 to go from level 3 to 4.

Ye Lin was extremely satisfied with reaching level 3 within a day. Most people probably hadn't even reached level 2 yet. At this rate, reaching level 10 before the novice secret realm closed would be a piece of cake for him.

Ye Lin skillfully dragged a dead three-eyed magic pig over, skinned it, and placed the meat on the burning campfire to roast. The thick hind legs quickly sizzled and dripped oil under the infernal flames, making Ye Lin's mouth water.

Although he was immortal and wouldn't starve to death, the feeling of hunger was still unpleasant. He wasn't a masochist and wouldn't mistreat his stomach.

The infernal flames were hotter than ordinary flames and were extremely efficient for roasting. Soon, the entire hind leg was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Ye Lin tore off a piece of meat, which was dripping with oil and giving off steam. As the meaty aroma burst in his mouth, he almost shed tears.

The meat of the three-eyed magic pig was extremely chewy and far more delicious than ordinary pork. When he lived in the slums, he was too poor and had to hide his immortality, so he had never eaten such good food.

Fortunately, he was now a class changer. Once he had the power to protect himself, he wouldn't have to live a life of hiding anymore.

While Ye Lin was feasting on the meat, not far away, Zhuge Ni suddenly stopped in her tracks, her eyes filled with surprise as she looked in Ye Lin's direction. As a fire mage, she was extremely sensitive to fire elements and immediately sensed the presence of the infernal flames.

"How could there be such a powerful fire element fluctuation in Qingcheng? There's no other SSS-level fire element-related profession besides me. Could it be that a fire-related treasure has appeared?"

Curiosity flashed in Zhuge Ni's beautiful eyes. She then headed towards Ye Lin's direction.

After Ye Lin had his fill, he extinguished the campfire, urinated on it, and then turned around to continue his monster-slaying journey. He always kept in mind the belief that setting fires would lead to imprisonment.

By the time Zhuge Ni arrived, there was no sign of Ye Lin left, only a pile of still smoking campfire embers.

"It's actually a human who made this commotion! This fire element fluctuation is probably no less than mine!"

Zhuge Ni's eyes were filled with astonishment. She squatted down, picked up the unburned firewood, and sniffed it with her delicate nose. As she sniffed, her beautiful eyebrows couldn't help but furrow together.

"It's indeed the scent of the infernal flames, but why is there a strange smell?"

Zhuge Ni was puzzled, but she didn't delve deeper. Instead, she stood up, her eyes brimming with excitement.

"Qingcheng truly hides dragons and tigers. Just wait and see, I, Zhuge Ni, will definitely find you out!!"

Compared to Ye Lin, who was stubborn and foolish, this person who was both powerful and knew how to keep a low profile was much more interesting to Zhuge Ni. Zhu Ge Ni sized up the surroundings and quickly gave chase in the direction where Ye Lin had left.

"Prohibited Spell? Burning Reincarnation!"

"Prohibited Spell? World-Ending Frenzied Thunder!"

Ye Lin was currently rampaging through the depths of the forest, sweeping away all the monsters he could see like a swarm of locusts. After getting used to the World-Ending Thunderbolt, even with the new attack forbidden spell, Ye Lin still preferred to use the World-Ending Thunderbolt to clear monsters. After all, a single lightning strike would kill the monsters instantly without any pain, while it would take several seconds to burn them to death with the Flame of the Heavens.

Ye Lin wasn't a devil, so he wouldn't do such a cruel thing. He felt that he was a rather kind person, after all, he had a motherly heart. He kept clearing monsters until late at night. Just as he was about to level up to level 4, he suddenly heard a noise behind him.

Ye Lin narrowed his eyes slightly and immediately stopped the forbidden spell, the blood flames on his body vanishing instantly. He knew that the noise behind him wasn't from a monster, but from a human.

First came a pair of long, fair legs, followed by Zhuge Ni's cold face. Her long black hair shone like a waterfall under the moonlight.

Even Ye Lin had to admit that this woman, although stubborn, had an excellent figure and face. But how could he run into her in such a vast Newbie Secret Realm?

"Ye Lin? Why is it you?" Zhuge Ni frowned the moment she saw Ye Lin, her good mood vanishing instantly. She was looking for the nameless genius who had mastered the Flame of the Heavens, not Ye Lin. How could this guy be here?

But soon, Zhuge Ni figured out the reason. It seemed that after entering the Newbie Secret Realm, Ye Lin realized how difficult it was to solo as a forbidden spell caster and regretted it. This guy must have come to find her.

"I told you before, the forbidden spell caster is a powerful class, but it's not suitable for soloing. It's too late for you to regret now. It's no use pestering me. I'm busy now. Move aside, I have things to do."

There was no warmth on Zhuge Ni's pretty face. If Ye Lin had stuck it out, she would have respected him as a man. But now, this behavior only made her look down on him. He didn't cherish the chances she gave him before, and now that he's in trouble, he comes back to pester her. This kind of two-faced man was the one Zhuge Ni disliked the most.

Even if he couldn't keep his word, how could he be called a man?

Especially since Ye Lin was blocking her way to find the genius who had mastered the Flame of the Heavens, this only made Zhuge Ni feel more disgusted with him.

Ye Lin was completely confused by Zhuge Ni's bandit logic. It was she who had chased after him out of nowhere, and now it was him who was pestering her?

He finally understood that this woman wasn't just stubborn, she was downright lacking in common sense.
