Chapter 47: A Different Kind of Mage

Lucius Malfoy stared, his horror complete.

Clones?Ā He'd seen many dark and complex spells in his service to the Dark Lord, but never one that created perfect, physical duplicates.

But that wasn't what truly terrified him.

Flight.

The boy was flying. No broom. No visible charm. He simply hovered in the air. That was a magic only the Dark Lord himself had ever demonstrated before them. Not even Dumbledore could manage it. And now this sixteen-year-old boy was doing it effortlessly.

The blood drained from Lucius's face. Had they been sent to capture someone as powerful as the Dark Lord?

The other three Death Eaters felt the same icy dread. Their wands felt slippery in their sweaty hands. All their confidence vanished, replaced by a crushing sense of doom. But the thought of failing the Dark Lord was even more terrifying.

"NOW!" one of them shrieked, desperation overriding fear. A Stunning Spell shot from his wand.

The reaction was instantaneous. The three clones surrounding him didn't even cast a spell. Instead, shimmering golden-red shields of light—not of any magic they recognized—sprang to life in their hands. The Stunning Spell hit a shield and dissipated without a sound.

Then, the clones charged.

The Death Eater's eyes widened in panic. Wizarding duels were about distance, about spellwork. This… this was like being rushed by a trio of silent, shielded knights. He fired spell after spell, but each was effortlessly blocked. Every clone felt solid, real. This was no illusion.

Elian, at the center of it all, felt no need for dramatic speeches. This needed to end, and quickly. The Dark Mark would bring others. Adults. Questions.

A thought, and his thirteen forms moved as one. Rings of golden energy shimmered into existence around their wrists. In their other hands, blades of condensed, fiery light formed from nothing.

It was over in seconds.

The three Death Eaters who had stood their ground fell, not with the flash of green light, but silently. They collapsed to the forest floor, defeated.

Elian's gaze snapped to the fourth.

But where Lucius Malfoy had been, there was only empty space. A faintĀ crackĀ of Apparition still hung in the air. The man, ever cautious, had fled the moment the clones appeared, abandoning his comrades to their fate.

The clones vanished. Elian lowered himself to the ground, the Levitation Cloak settling. He looked at the five fallen figures. The Death Eaters had been… weaker than he expected. Or perhaps he was simply stronger now. Most were just bullies with wands, terrifying only to those who feared them. He did not.

His goal was mostly achieved. Lucius had escaped, but the message would be delivered. The "Child of the Prophecy" was not an easy target. The Icon Illusion had worked perfectly. Let Voldemort hear of it. Let him wonder.

He needed to leave. Now.

He raised his hand, the Sling Ring already beginning to spark with golden light.

A series of sharpĀ CRACKSĀ split the air.

Too late.

Figures apparated into the clearing all around him—wizards in everyday robes, their faces etched with panic and fury, wands already drawn. They took in the scene: the Dark Mark above, the black-robed bodies on the ground, and a lone, unfamiliar teenager standing amidst them.

They didn't wait for an explanation.

"GET HIM!" a witch screamed, her voice raw with fear. "Take down all the Death Eaters!"

A dozen wands pointed directly at Elian.
