Chapter 48 - A Power Level of Just 300

"You monster... die!!!"

In Carol's eyes, which shone with brilliant golden light, rage burned fiercely enough to incinerate galaxies.

She wasted no time on words, clenching both fists as the photon energy surging through her body instantly skyrocketed to its peak.

Like a supernova igniting, she charged toward Frieza, who was suspended high in the air, leaving a long, golden trail of fire in her wake.

Boom!

The air was violently shattered by her terrifying speed, stirring up visible rings of sonic boom clouds.

Facing this world-shattering attack, Frieza didn't even lift an eyelid. He maintained his posture of watching the show elegantly, arms still crossed over his chest.

He even yawned out of boredom.

"Oh dear, what a rude lady."

Just as Carol was about to reach Frieza—

"Don't you dare harm Lord Frieza!"

A rough roar exploded from the side.

Flint Marko, Sandman, who had been standing by, now had a frantic, opportunistic glint in his eyes.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

If he could block this attack in front of the Emperor of the Universe, wouldn't his status in the army skyrocket?

He might even snag himself a position as a Planet Governor.

"Stop right there!"

Boom!

Sand instantly surged into the sky, condensing into a gigantic, shadow-casting hand, which viciously clawed toward Carol.

Flint had mobilized almost all the sand from New York's sewers and construction sites.

"Got her!"

The massive sand hand instantly closed, tightly encasing the golden figure within its palm.

A look of ecstatic triumph appeared on Flint's face as he turned to Frieza, eager for praise. "My Lord, I've captured her. This woman isn't so tou—"

Before he could finish his sentence—

Inside the gigantic sand hand, a light suddenly flared, so blinding it was impossible to look at directly.

That light was hotter than the sun and more searing than magma.

"What?!" The smile on Flint's face instantly froze.

The next second.

Sizzle... Sizzle...

The loose, flowing sand instantly melted and solidified under the terrifying heat.

In the blink of an eye, the massive sand hand had transformed into a giant, crystal-clear piece of glass, still steaming hot.

Immediately after—

Crack!

A sharp cracking sound rang out.

The giant glass hand exploded into countless fragments, scattering like a rain of diamonds and reflecting a tragic beauty in the sunlight.

Amidst the flying glass shards, Carol burst out completely unharmed, bathed in golden light and flames, like a Valkyrie descending.

She didn't even glance at Flint on the ground, casually unleashing a photon blast.

Boom!

Flint's physical body on the ground didn't even have time to scream. He was instantly and completely vaporized by the terrifying high-temperature energy, leaving behind only a patch of twisted, glassy residue on the ground.

This sight instantly ignited sparks of hope in the eyes of Steve, Tony, and the others who had been despairing on the ground.

"She's too powerful! That's Captain Marvel!"

"That energy intensity is practically a moving star!" Tony exclaimed, his hands trembling as he looked at his data panel.

A difficult opponent like the Sandman couldn't even last a single second against Captain Marvel.

Having dealt with the bothersome fly, Carol's speed increased instead of decreasing. With an unstoppable momentum, she instantly closed the distance to Frieza.

"Now, it's your turn!"

Carol roared, photon energy gathering on her right fist, and she smashed it fiercely toward Frieza's repulsive smiling face.

However, facing this iron fist, which even Thanos would regard with caution, Frieza merely shifted his body slightly.

Swish!

The punch, loaded with terrifying energy, grazed past the tip of his nose. The intense gust of wind ruffled a strand of golden hair on his forehead.

"Oh dear..."

Frieza floated back a short distance.

He looked at the glowing superwoman before him, displaying the disappointed expression of an art connoisseur evaluating a fake.

"As expected of Captain Marvel, the trump card of that one-eyed director."

"As the top fighting force on this planet, I must say, you do possess some power."

Frieza extended a finger and lightly flicked dust off his collar.

"That kind of energy that can instantly generate high temperatures would be quite useful for barbecuing or keeping warm in winter."

Hearing such utterly humiliating commentary, Carol felt like her lungs were about to explode with rage.

"Shut up! You demon!"

"I admit, your skill with words is quite good."

Carol stared coldly at him. "But I hope your bones are as hard as your mouth."

"Oh?"

Frieza raised an eyebrow, a flicker of mockery passing through his crimson eyes.

He lowered his hand, his expression instantly becoming condescending and arrogant.

"My dear lady, while I hate to crush your self-confidence."

"Judging by the meager power you've displayed so far, it's questionable whether your power level even breaks 300."

"As for me..."

Frieza slowly spread his arms, his suit fluttering without a breeze.

A terrifying aura, powerful enough to make the entire atmosphere tremble, slowly emanated from his body.

"My base power level is a staggering 530,000."

"You intend to challenge an Emperor of the Universe with power that isn't even enough to tickle a baby?"

"Are you sure your brain hasn't been fried by all that photon energy?"

"Hmph! Such arrogance!"

Carol didn't understand what "power level" meant.

In her experience, she had traveled the cosmos unchallenged and had never met an enemy she couldn't defeat.

Even Ronan the Accuser of the Kree Empire would steer clear of her.

This pale-faced man, who was only good at posturing, must be trying to undermine her confidence with his words.

"I don't care what your power level is, today, you die!"

Boom!

Carol stopped wasting breath. Her body instantly entered Binary mode, and she transformed into a blinding sphere of light.

She pushed off the air, moving like lightning, and instantly rushed forward.

"Photon Blast!"

Carol roared.

Her punch, gathering all her strength and carrying the might to shatter an asteroid, shot toward Frieza's heart.

This punch was the epitome of speed and ferocity.

The Avengers on the ground held their breath, their eyes glued to the sky.

She has to hit him!

Facing this world-ending punch, a cold, bone-chilling smirk was seen on Frieza's lips.

"Since you're so eager to die, don't blame me for not being gentle with women."

Whoosh!

Just as Carol's fist was about to make contact with Frieza's chest, Frieza moved.

His right hand shot up like a purple bolt of lightning, his five fingers instantly held together like a blade. It was coated in a thin layer of purple Ki, sharp enough to cleave space itself.

A variation of the Destructo Disc technique—the Hand Blade!

There were no fancy movements.

Just a simple swing.

It was like slicing through a piece of soft tofu.

Pfft!

The sound of bone and flesh separating abruptly echoed in the air.
