Chapter 128 - Chapter 129: Aerial Performance and Military Exercise

As the car slowly came to a stop on a platform, Malaysia's Minister of Defense, Dato' Seri Duraman, and Air Force General Maharaleh stepped out of the vehicle.

As soon as they exited the Mercedes-Benz, they noticed six brand-new MiG-29 fighter jets parked on the runway in the distance.

The aluminum alloy fuselages, combined with titanium alloy materials and the sleek aerodynamic design, made the jets look exceptionally striking.

Mavi also stepped out of the Mercedes-AMG and approached the Malaysian military officials. At that moment, Minister Duraman, showing keen interest, turned to Mavi and asked, "Mr. Mavi, are those six fighter jets in the distance the MiG-29s from your country?"

Seeing the Minister's interest in the aircraft, Mavi promptly introduced them. "Yes, that's correct, Minister Duraman. The six fighter jets you see are indeed the MiG-29s designed by the Mikoyan Design Bureau. They are equipped with RD-33 turbofan engines, dual-shaft, low-bypass ratio, and utilize an 11-unit modular structure. Each engine has a maximum thrust of 50 kN, which is equivalent to 5 metric tons of force…"

After listening to Mavi's introduction, Minister Duraman and General Maharaleh pondered for a moment before asking, "Mr. Mavi, how much does your country's MiG-29 fighter jet cost? Could you give us a rough estimate?"

Seeing that they were starting to inquire about the price, Mavi deliberately held back a bit, smiling as he said, "Minister Duraman, General Maharaleh, let's not rush into discussing the price of the MiG-29 just yet. Our Russian Air Force has prepared a spectacular aerial performance for you. Would you be interested in watching?"

Minister Duraman and General Maharaleh exchanged glances before nodding. "An aerial performance? Using these six MiG-29s? Sounds great, Mr. Mavi. We'd love to see it."

Aerial performances, much like military parades, are always a favorite among high-ranking officials.

Mavi nodded and then glanced at Major General Andrei, who was standing beside him. Upon receiving Mavi's signal, Andrei used his military radio to communicate with the six fighter pilots waiting on the runway. "The guests have arrived. You may begin."

As soon as he spoke, the six fully geared-up Russian pilots swiftly climbed into their MiG-29 fighter jets. Within ten minutes, the six aircraft roared to life, engines thundering as they soared into the sky.

Standing on the platform, Minister Duraman and General Maharaleh instinctively looked up, following the jets with their eyes.

Once the six MiGs reached a certain altitude, they commenced their aerial performance—barrel rolls, loops, and low-altitude sharp turns. Blue smoke trails streamed from the aircraft tails, making the show even more mesmerizing.

"Mr. Mavi, your country's aerial performance is truly spectacular!" Minister Duraman couldn't help but praise Mavi before the show had even concluded.

"You're too kind, Minister Duraman." This was also Mavi's first time witnessing such a performance in person, and the scene was nothing short of breathtaking. The sheer power of the roaring engines during low-altitude maneuvers sent adrenaline surging through his veins.

As the flawless aerial performance came to an end, nearly every Malaysian officer present nodded in approval and applauded enthusiastically, clearly impressed.

But then—out of nowhere—an unexpected turn of events occurred!

In the distance, four light gray T-62 main battle tanks suddenly rumbled onto the platform!

The metallic clatter of their tracks instantly caught the attention of the Malaysian officers. They exchanged bewildered glances, completely unaware of what was happening.

"Mr. Mavi, what's with these tanks…?" Minister Duraman was utterly confused. Moments ago, they had been watching an aerial performance, and now tanks were rolling in. What kind of show was this!?

"Minister Duraman, these four T-62 main battle tanks are part of the second performance we've prepared for you—a military exercise. Would you be interested in watching?" Mavi asked calmly, addressing the Malaysian officials.

The aerial performance was merely an appetizer. What was about to unfold would be the main course.

"A military exercise? Sounds good, Mr. Mavi. Is it starting soon? What will it involve?" Upon hearing that the Russian Air Force was about to conduct a military exercise, Minister Duraman and General Maharaleh were more than eager to watch.

After all, for a country like Malaysia, which had relatively limited military capabilities, witnessing a large-scale military drill firsthand was a rare and valuable experience. It was also an opportunity to assess Russia's military strength, making it an offer they couldn't refuse.

"Yes, it will begin shortly. But for safety reasons, I must ask everyone to return to the armored vehicles before we start." Mavi did not directly answer the Minister's question but instead gestured for them to enter the bulletproof vehicles to avoid any risk of injury from the live-fire exercise.

Minister Duraman and General Maharaleh exchanged glances again. They were well aware of the Russian military's formidable reputation, but they had no idea what kind of military drill Mavi had in store for them…

"They're not seriously going to have the Air Force bomb those four tanks in the distance, are they?" one of the officers standing beside General Maharaleh muttered quietly. If that were the case, the Russians were truly insane!

His words did not escape the General's ears. Maharaleh glanced at him and sternly reminded, "Major, watch your words. You represent the image of the Malaysian military. Haven't you noticed that there are still soldiers inside those tanks?"

Indeed, if those tanks were destroyed with people inside, the commanding officer would undoubtedly be court-martialed.

However, before Maharaleh could finish his thought, the hatches of the four T-62 tanks suddenly swung open. Russian tank crew members scrambled out, swiftly evacuating the area…

Seeing this, General Maharaleh's face instantly turned red with embarrassment. Meanwhile, the major standing beside him struggled to suppress a laugh, his face visibly strained.

"Ahem! Get in the vehicles! Everyone, board the armored transports!" General Maharaleh ordered with a serious expression.
