Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: The Fang-1 Grenade

As soon as the words were spoken, the previously fierce and intimidating Russian bodyguards quickly restrained themselves, lowering their AKs and M4s. This finally allowed the Blizzard employees to breathe a sigh of relief...

"Chairman Mavi, hello!" President Mike forced a smile as he greeted Mavi.

"Hello, was the journey exhausting?" Mavi casually asked Mike. This was his first time appearing in front of Blizzard employees, and almost everyone present was slightly shaken by his youth and imposing presence.

"The journey wasn't exhausting at all; it was quite comfortable! I just don't know why you called us to Russia this time…?" Mike asked cautiously. To be honest, the journey was anything but tiring—the private jet was luxurious, and the armored Tiger convoy was beyond impressive.

Mavi knew that the Blizzard employees had countless questions running through their minds. So, he simply smiled and said, "I called you all here to develop a new game."

The Blizzard employees in front of him were even more confused.

"A new game? Why come all the way to Moscow for that? We could have done it in the U.S.!"

No one voiced their doubts directly—after all, as the boss, there were certain things they couldn't say to his face.

However, Mavi, having lived two lifetimes, could easily read their concerns. So he got straight to the point with Mike, "The game I want to develop is a first-person shooter called Counter-Strike. Players will be divided into two factions: counter-terrorists and terrorists. They will engage in combat using different weapons, and one side must eliminate the other to win."

Mavi described the core concept of Counter-Strike based on his memories of the globally popular game.

Yet, he had barely finished his introduction when Mike, Allen, and the other developers' eyes lit up with inspiration!

"Counter-terrorists versus terrorists? This concept alone will grab players' attention!"

"A first-person shooter? That could be a major selling point! As far as I know, no other gaming company has done something like this."

The group enthusiastically discussed the idea. As game developers, they constantly analyzed what kinds of games players would enjoy. Traditional level-based games often became boring once completed. If they were too easy, they lacked challenge; if too difficult, players would lose patience...

But Mavi's idea of a competitive shooter was entirely fresh. By allowing players to battle each other, it introduced limitless playstyles, making the game more engaging and fueling a strong desire to win.

"Chairman Mavi! Your game idea is a fantastic innovation! It has great potential!" exclaimed Mike, the president of Blizzard. As the head of a gaming company, he immediately recognized the high quality of Mavi's concept.

Mavi waved off the flattery with a smile. This wasn't something he had invented himself. And he hadn't called the development team to Russia just to hear them sing his praises.

So… at that moment, Mavi gestured to one of the bodyguards. The Russian bodyguard immediately understood and retrieved a "Fang-1" grenade from a nearby wooden crate, carefully handing it to Mavi.

Seeing their new boss holding a real grenade, Mike, Allen, and the others instantly tensed up, taking a few steps back.

"M-Mavi, sir… what are you… doing?" Mike stammered.

"Relax, this grenade is for collecting game data."

As Mavi spoke, an explosion-proof camera crew had already taken their positions. They were equipped with the most advanced filming equipment, ready to capture the upcoming detonation in high definition.

This footage would be incorporated into the game, making it extremely realistic and enhancing the player experience!

Mavi's approach was undeniably bold—brutally Russian, in fact. Mike, Allen, and the others standing nearby couldn't help but suck in a breath of cold air.

"Oh my God! This is insane! The boss is actually doing it for real?!"

"A grenade… if it's thrown wrong, couldn't it hurt people? The explosion, the shrapnel—that's not something to mess with!"

Two developers were so frightened that they quietly hid behind the others. This level of game development was far beyond what they had signed up for…

Mavi noticed the two shrinking back, but right now, the only one truly fearless was Winnie, the polar bear, happily playing nearby.

So, he instructed the bodyguards to take Winnie away, just in case she idiotically ran after the grenade to fetch it. That would be a disaster for both man and bear. Such a rookie mistake couldn't be allowed.

As the bodyguards led the polar bear away, Mavi stepped onto a raised concrete trench.

Now, he gripped the grenade in his right hand and held the pull ring with his left. A slight tug would activate the powerful explosive.

Mike and the others stood about ten meters away, half-concerned and half-curious to see how Mavi would throw the grenade.

Adjusting to such a daring, unconventional Russian boss would take time.

However, just as they stood behind Mavi, waiting for him to pull the pin, a sudden, loud rumbling noise echoed across the otherwise quiet outdoor training ground!

The sound was as heavy as a factory's industrial truck, but with a sharper metallic screech.

At the same time, the ground beneath them subtly trembled.

Mike, Allen, and the others instinctively turned around to see what was causing such a commotion.

And then—

A massive, military-green tank rolled into view, its pitch-black barrel aimed forward with intimidating authority!

"Oh my God! A tank?!"

"Wait… is that a Russian T-90 main battle tank? Holy hell!"

Everyone was utterly stunned! If the AK-47s and M4s earlier were just small-scale firepower, then this T-90 main battle tank was a heavyweight final boss!

"What is our new boss planning?! He just randomly brought out a tank?"

"No idea… But our chairman doesn't seem to follow any normal playbook."

"A T-90 weighs 46 tons! Is this also going to be part of Counter-Strike?"

The Blizzard employees were completely dumbfounded by the spectacle before them.
