Chapter 107 - Chapter 108: Setting Off

"Hiss!"

Although he couldn't see how much force was used, Hili couldn't help but suck in a sharp breath. Rubbing his burning back, he looked at the tall, strong priest with a slightly aggrieved tone.

"I only learned this from you."

You probably learned it the wrong way, York wanted to say, but his eyelid twitched because the speaker on the front of the bike was still blaring.

The lyrics went something like this:

This bro is gonna have a bright future,

Break it down, pretty girls, praise me now, woo-hoo! Praise me now, woo-hoo!

'Cause this Uptown Funk is for you.

Saturday night, and we're gonna rock the house... Listening to these fast-paced lyrics, York' final words became:

"Every Saturday night is a party, isn't it, Hili?"

"Ahem!" Hili gave a dry cough as he snapped back to reality and quickly turned off the speaker.

"Father Yorkes, you know how it is. When you're driving, you need this kind of music to stay awake."

"Oh."

That made sense. York didn't argue, as he often played music too. He just looked at the man tied up and unconscious on the back of the Harley motorcycle.

"So, who is he?"

Hili shrugged. "Michael, Father Yorkes. It's a long story. He's the fuse for the subway station incident. The Lycans started fighting the Vampires because of him."

Hearing this, York recalled the plot of underworld. Looking at the unconscious Michael, he seemed to understand something. He glanced at Hili and then turned around.

"Come in. Tell me exactly what's going on."

Hearing this, Hili felt relieved. He glanced at the Monk guarding the gate and carefully followed the priest's lead on his Harley... "You're saying this guy can merge Vampire and Lycan bloodlines to become a hybrid?"

York looked at Michael on Hili's shoulder, understanding everything.

In the setting of underworld, the ancestors of the Lycans and Vampires were brothers of the same bloodline.

These two brothers were born of a human—the one the Vampires and Lycans call the Progenitor. He could merge the two different bloodline powers... And this Michael should possess the Progenitor's bloodline, and he's also the male lead of underworld.

Thinking about the general plot of underworld, York retracted his gaze, letting Hili recount the information he already knew.

"Yes, Father Yorkes. I accidentally infiltrated a Lycan den. From the Lycan leader's mouth, I learned that Michael is the last human bloodline of the Progenitor of these two groups."

"So the Lycans plan to use him to merge the Lycan and Vampire bloodline powers, forcing a blood transfusion to transform the entire Lycan race."

As he spoke, Hili added exaggeratedly:

"If the Lycans complete the transformation, these two groups with their long-standing feud will definitely have a massive war. It will inevitably affect the safety and lives of humans."

"So to prevent that, I thought of bringing this kid here for you to handle."

York smiled. "How do you want me to handle it? Should I execute him? Simple, once and for all."

Hili froze. "That doesn't seem right, Father Yorkes."

York remained unmoved. "Why not? It's the best way, Hili."

Hili couldn't help but look at the unconscious Michael on his shoulder. He knew the priest was joking.

"Father Yorkes, he's the fuse that could trigger a war between the two groups. If you could provide protection..."

"No, I won't protect someone who has nothing to do with me, nor am I a babysitter, Hili." York interrupted Hili and stated his solution.

"If you leave him to me, I'll just hand him over to Romania's official organizations."

Hili hadn't expected this outcome at all.

"Father Yorkes, doesn't the Church handle these things? I'm afraid others won't be able to withstand the onslaught of Lycans and Vampires."

Hearing this, York said indifferently:

"As long as the Lycans and Vampires don't affect the order, the Church won't bother with such trivial matters. Besides, you underestimate humans too much."

Hili scratched his head, thought about it seriously, and felt that made sense. He could only say:

"Alright, Father Yorkes."

Having settled the matter so casually, York felt no waves in his heart.

Even though Michael was the male lead of underworld, unless there was a random mission, he really had no interest in getting involved in these troublesome matters; it was a thankless task.

Furthermore, the Church played the role of maintaining order from a high position. Only if underworld truly affected social stability and the existing order would it step in. Otherwise, it wouldn't become anyone's babysitter for any reason.

---

"Put him here for now. We'll deal with him later."

Leading the two to his room, York pointed to the bed.

"Okay, Father Yorkes." Hili responded obediently and dropped the still-unconscious Michael onto the bed.

Seeing this, York glanced at the backpacks on the floor. Aside from the one containing Holy C4 Bombs and some warheads and ammunition, the other backpacks were gone. This meant the Novice Nun had been working hard.

Thinking of the green Novice Nun, the corner of York' mouth curled slightly. He picked up a backpack containing four RPG-7 warheads and tossed it to Hili.

"Take it and follow me."

With that, York picked up the remaining two backpacks and left immediately.

Hili looked back at the still-unconscious Michael, then picked up the backpack and followed.

While walking, he couldn't help but feel the backpack, a look of realization and excitement appearing on his face.

"Father, are these RPG warheads? Who are we going after?"

"Most likely a Demon." York didn't hide it. After all, Hili was familiar with his style. Not to mention, Father Mike often complained that he had corrupted Hili.

"Wow! That's awesome!" Hili became even more excited. "I haven't encountered a Demon in ages!"

York ignored him and continued leading him toward the backyard.

As the two walked down a corridor, they ran into Irene, who was coming back to carry more things.

"Father Yorkes."

Irene stopped and stole a glance at the seemingly excited Hili next to the priest. Looking at the backpack on his shoulder, she could sense that this person was also a member of the team, though she didn't know his identity.

"Good work, Irene."

York responded, walked past her, and stuffed the relatively light backpack containing ammunition from his left hand into Irene's arms.

"The helicopter pilot has arrived. No need to go back. We're leaving now."

Irene nodded blankly while clutching the backpack and quickly followed. She walked behind York with Hili, and she finally understood Hili's identity.

But what Irene didn't know was that Hili was extremely surprised to see her. He knew the priest had always been alone. He whispered:

"Hello, I'm Hili. Are you the Deaconess the Church assigned to Father Yorkes?"

Hearing this, Irene looked at the priest's brisk back and nodded silently.

"Whoa!"

Hili let out a strange cry.
