Chapter 613 - Chapter 613 Things seem to be going surprisingly smoothly

The heroes nodded in agreement one after another.

"Rest assured, we will take good care of them. Their power will be used in the right places," Captain Rogers took the lead in declaring.

"Very good, but that's not the main point," Homelander said solemnly. "What matters is that while I am away, the three of them will assist you in protecting this Planet together."

As soon as these words were spoken, the atmosphere in the conference room instantly changed.

"You won't be here? Where are you going? Did something happen?" Jessica immediately grew tense.

She knew Homelander well; unless he encountered something extremely thorny, he would never easily leave his base.

Skye also looked at Homelander anxiously. "Did something happen? I can help share the burden with you."

Homelander fell silent.

This was his usual trick.

After dropping a bombshell, he used silence to let fear and tension ferment among the crowd.

Only when everyone's breathing turned heavy did he slowly speak.

"A massive crisis is approaching..." Homelander said, half-truthfully, "Not from Earth, nor from aliens. But... the multiverse."

"An evil force from another Universe has its sights on us. The boundaries of reality are collapsing. If we don't stop it, the entire Universe, everything we treasure... will be annihilated."

Everyone gasped.

Everyone present had weathered all sorts of great storms, but the term "multiverse" was still too vast for them.

"Even I am not certain I can completely defeat them. But I cannot back down. I must leave this Universe and travel to other dimensions to find a solution to this crisis, to find a power that can contend with it."

Everyone remained stunned for a long time.

If even Homelander, who was so powerful he seemed to have no upper limit, felt uncertain and was forced to leave the Universe to find a solution, the terrifying scale of this crisis was far beyond their imagination.

Seeing everyone so tense that their heartbeats almost stopped, Homelander felt immensely satisfied inside.

This was the exact effect he needed. Only by exaggerating the crisis to be big enough could the gains be maximized.

After going to such trouble to travel far away, if he just casually brought back a bald old man for counseling, that would be way too lame.

When the time comes, at worst he could just have Supergo, Dago, and the others play supervillains to wrap things up.

"Though the road ahead is fraught with peril and life or death is uncertain, I have no choice!" Homelander stood straight, his gaze firm.

"So while I am away, the safety of Earth is entrusted to you... Do not disappoint me."

"No matter what we are about to face, Earth will never compromise," Steve immediately declared first. "While you are gone, Vought's heroes will hold the line. This is our duty."

Tony, Peter, Banner, and the others all stepped forward as well.

Their sense of mission was fully ignited in this instant. The Superheroes united in shared hatred for the enemy, swearing to protect the World in this new calamity.

"Leave public opinion to me, I'll find a way to cover it up," under Ashley's influence, Jessica suggested pragmatically. "I will immediately activate Vought's strictest media control plan to stabilize the situation and never let society fall into chaos."

"No!"

Homelander interrupted Jessica with righteous severity.

"Jessica, I know what you are worried about. You want to protect this World, you want to maintain order."

"However, lies cannot bring true peace. Sugarcoating reality is the greatest betrayal to all humanity."

"Even if the truth is cruel, even if the road ahead is dark! Tell them the truth, let them know we are fighting for survival. Fear is not shameful; what's shameful is dying wretchedly in the dark!"

"Go find Ashley and hold a global press conference!" Homelander patted Jessica's shoulder, speaking forcefully.

"Tell the whole World every single word of what you just heard without missing a thing. No hiding, no editing. Let them know that even if the path ahead is endless darkness, their heroes will cross the Universe for them to find that slim ray of hope!"

Hearing these words, Skye couldn't help but be moved.

She recalled the day she first met Homelander inside the minivan.

He was still him, his original aspiration unchanged.

[Notification! Gained special popularity value +20,000! (From Skye)]

Homelander sneered in his heart.

Hide the crisis? What a joke.

If he didn't scare the entire World into wetting their pants, how could he harvest this World-shattering crop of popularity?

"Time is short, I must set off immediately." Homelander walked over to Jessica and Skye.

He opened his arms and gave Jessica and Skye a hug each.

"Time is short." Homelander drew back his arms and turned to look at his three foster daughters. "Sienia, Yale, Jinny. While I am away, follow Jessica and Steve's orders. Don't disappoint me."

The three Kryptonian girls stood strictly at attention together. "Yes, Father!"

...

Kamar-Taj.

Having explained everything, Homelander returned here, landing on the broad outdoor training ground.

Sorcerer Ancient One had already been waiting for a long time.

Her face was serene and calm as a deep well.

Behind her, dozens of elite Kamar-Taj sorcerers stood in a circle, ready for combat.

The protection seals in their hands were charged and ready.

America stood beside Ancient One, looking a bit nervous.

Wanda stood on the other side, her eyes full of concern.

Homelander walked up to Wanda and took her into his arms.

"Do you really have to go?" Wanda's voice trembled slightly.

Homelander wrapped his arm around her waist, lowered his head, and pressed a kiss on her forehead.

"I must go, for you, and for this World. Wait for me here, and train well with Sorcerer Ancient One."

After comforting Wanda, Homelander walked toward Ancient One and America.

Ancient One nodded slightly and said calmly, "I have already told her everything. About the situation of this Universe, and what you need her to do. She is very willing to help."

America's cheeks flushed slightly, and she nodded vigorously.

During her time at Kamar-Taj, Ancient One's teachings had given her a deeper understanding of her own power, and she also hoped to repay Homelander's kindness.

What's more... it was just the two of them on this mission.

Homelander took America's hand and led her to the very center of the spell array.

"It's our turn, America," Homelander encouraged her softly. "You possess the power to perform miracles. Now, focus your mind and just do it. Don't be afraid, I will protect you, I promise."

Hearing this, America closed her eyes, trying hard to recall the control method Ancient One had taught her. Suppressing her instinctive fear, she took the initiative to tap into that multiversal power hidden within her bloodline.

A moment later, America let out a shout.

At the same time, dazzling blue energy light suddenly erupted from the surface of Homelander's body.

This energy resonated strongly with the power inside America's body.

The air distorted, and a giant star-shaped Portal shimmering with blue light on its edges swung wide open in front of them.

The other side of the Portal was no longer chaotic void, but a modern city filled with towering skyscrapers and heavy traffic.

Did it actually succeed?!

It seemed things went surprisingly smoothly.
