Outside the building's wall.
Natasha used a grappling hook to quietly sneak in.
She silently watched the chaotic battle inside.
Then, her gaze locked onto the interior of the hall.
The Mind Stone was currently plugged into the device named "ultron x," emitting a faint blue glow.
This had to be stopped.
Lorelei looked at the group of men who were crazy for her, revealing a morbid smile.
"That's right..."
"As long as I put on that helmet..."
She stumbled toward the console, where the helmet connected to the Mind Stone was located.
That was her final step to ruling the World.
She reached out and touched the cold metal surface of the helmet.
At that very moment.
Snap.
The lights in the hall went out instantly.
All the indicator lights of the instruments relying on external power went dark.
"Zzz—woo—"
The ultron x device, which was running, let out a sighing wail and stopped working.
A power outage.
To be precise, the main power of the Avengers Tower's Arc Reactor had been cut.
"Nice job! Shabby!"
Hiding in the secret room, Pepper pumped her fist excitedly.
"What's going on?!"
Lorelei screamed; she was just about to succeed, but was suddenly plunged into darkness.
"Now's the time!"
In the darkness, a black figure darted in.
Natasha Romanoff.
She had been waiting for this moment.
She ignored the men fighting each other; her only goal was the Mind Stone.
She fired her grappling hook gun.
"Click!"
The alloy hook precisely caught the handle of the Mind Stone.
"Retract!"
The motor whirred, and the Mind Stone was forcibly ripped from its base by her!
Natasha grabbed the scepter, not stopping at all, and crashed directly through the window on the other side of the building.
"Bye-bye, boys!"
She deployed her wingsuit in mid-air and dove into the depths of the night.
Emergency power kicked in, and the lights came back on.
Lorelei went mad; she looked in the direction where Natasha had disappeared and screamed at the group of men still brawling.
"No!! Get it back for me!!"
"Whoever brings back the scepter will be my Prince!!"
The power of these words was immense.
The three men who were still attacking Hulk stopped in unison.
They glanced at each other, the killing intent in their eyes instantly turning into the flames of male competition.
"She's mine!!"
Tony Stark was the first to react.
"Friday! Divert all power to the thrusters!"
The mark xliii jetted out a blinding tail flame, rushing out like a missile.
"In your dreams, tin man!"
Thor didn't have his hammer, but he had brute strength.
He casually grabbed a hovering drone armor and rode on its back.
"Fly for me! Tin man!!"
"And me!"
Barton also jumped onto another suit of armor and took manual control of the flight system.
"Run... Hulk won't allow it!!!"
Hulk saw his opponents flying away; not having fought enough, he stomped his feet in frustration.
So he took two steps back and kicked off the edge of the building with force.
"Boom!!"
A corner of the building collapsed from his kick.
Using this massive reaction force, Hulk chased after them like a green cannonball... In the New York night sky, an absurd and crazy chase began.
Natasha maneuvered her jet wingsuit, weaving through the gaps between skyscrapers.
She looked back, and her scalp tingled.
An "Avengers army" was following behind her.
In this situation, she didn't dare fly in a straight line; she could only lower her altitude and use various buildings as cover, performing frantic evasive maneuvers.
Behind her, Tony Stark had lost his mind.
To snatch back the scepter and win the Queen's love.
"Fire everything! Shoot her down!!"
He ordered the Iron Legion behind him.
"Whoosh whoosh whoosh—"
Micro-missiles flew wildly through the streets.
Cars were blown away, streetlights were snapped, and innocent citizens fled in terror.
Hulk leaped between rooftops, shattering the glass of a building every time he landed.
Thor rode the smoking robot, crashing through the air as countless advertising signs were knocked down.
All of Midtown Manhattan seemed to be under alien invasion once again.
Sirens echoed throughout the city, but the Police were clearly helpless.
"Mr. Mayor! An explosion on Fifth Avenue!"
"Traffic at Times Square is paralyzed!"
"Someone saw Iron Man chasing Black Widow! Thor and Hulk are tearing down buildings!"
"Missiles are flying all over the sky!"
The Mayor clutched the phone, having pulled out a handful of his own hair.
He listened to the successive explosions outside, on the verge of a breakdown.
"What did New York do wrong?! The Chitauri came and tore it down once! The Dark Elves came and tore it down once! Now the Avengers are coming to tear it down too? Is New York cursed?"
The Secretary stood by, trembling as she handed over the phone.
"Mr. Mayor... the Police Director says they can't control the situation..."
"Nonsense! Are they supposed to use pistols to fight Hulk?!"
The Mayor snatched the phone.
He took a deep breath, his fingers trembling as he dialed the number.
"Ring—"
"Hello, this is the Vought Hero Rescue Hotline."
A sweet customer service voice came from the other end.
"What trouble are you facing? A. Alien invasion B. Terrorist attack C. Supervillain D. Other."
"D! Choose D!!"
The Mayor roared into the phone.
"I want the most expensive package! That damn 'Justice from Above'! No matter how much it costs! Get Homelander here! Have him stop those lunatics for me!!!"
"Understood. Your location has been pinned to Manhattan, New York. Order confirmed. The Seven are on their way. Please stay on the line and have your check ready."
In the night sky.
Natasha felt she was about to reach her limit.
The left wing of her wingsuit had been hit by Tony's repulsor blast and was emitting black smoke.
"Damn... these mad dogs..."
Looking up, Thor's figure had already jumped to the top of the building in front of her, waiting to intercept her with open arms.
Looking back, Tony and the Iron Legion were flanking her.
No way out.
"I have to risk it."
Natasha gritted her teeth, preparing to adjust her posture and force a dive into the Hudson River.
Just then.
"Zip—!"
A sharp arrow shot silently from the side.
Barton.
This sharpshooter had despair-inducing accuracy.
The arrow precisely pierced the wingsuit's connection axis.
"Crack!"
The wingsuit disintegrated instantly.
"Ah—!!"
Natasha lost her support and fell like a broken kite, landing heavily on the rooftop of an office building, rolling several times to dissipate the impact. She still clutched the Mind Stone tightly in her hand.
"Cough, cough..."
Natasha struggled to stand up, but a piercing pain came from her left leg. It was broken.
"Give me the Mind Stone, Natasha. Don't force me to treat you in a more unsightly way."
Tony Stark hovered in the air, his palm cannon aimed at her.
"Thud!"
Thor also jumped down, landing on the rooftop.
Barton followed closely, drawing his bow, the arrowhead pointing at Natasha's heart.
"Give me the scepter, Nat." His voice showed no sentimentality.
Natasha leaned against the railing, clutching the scepter tightly, her tone full of disappointment.
"You guys... are truly beyond saving."
She pulled out her Glock to fire.
"Whoosh—!"
Barton's fingers let go.
The arrow left the string, heading straight for Natasha's wrist.
Natasha instinctively pulled back her hand.
But immediately after, Tony's palm cannon fired.
"Boom!"
The floor beneath Natasha's feet was blown apart.
She lost her balance and fell backward.
It was thirty stories high.
Falling.
The wind whistled in her ears.
A sense of weightlessness surrounded her.
Natasha looked at her former comrades above, watching the night sky get further and further away.
"Is this the end?"
She closed her eyes, waiting for death's embrace.
"Whoosh—"
A strong wind swept past.
The expected pain did not come.
She felt herself fall into a firm, warm embrace.
A faint scent of citrus-scented body wash.
Under the neon lights, his features appeared exceptionally handsome and well-defined.
His blond hair was meticulous, and a reassuring smile was in his blue eyes.
"Sorry, I'm late."
