Boom! Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
The palm cannon roared.
Barton also launched his triple shot, attacking Thor.
"Damn it!"
Thor swung mjolnir, deflecting the palm blasts and arrows.
"Tony! Barton! Wake up! She's a Banshee!!"
"Thor! Don't fight them!"
Natasha seized the opportunity to roll to Thor's side and shouted loudly.
"They're being controlled! Fighting here will tie our hands and destroy this place!"
"Take me with you! Retreat first! We need to plan this out!"
Thor gritted his teeth, looking at Lorelei with her playful expression, and then at Tony and the others who were showing no mercy.
"You're lucky, Banshee!"
Thor grabbed Natasha by the waist.
"Hold on tight!"
He spun Mjolnir violently.
"Whoosh—!"
The two turned into a flash of lightning, burst out of the broken window, and disappeared into the sky.
Lorelei watched them flee, walked to the window, and looked down at the bustling city.
"Run."
"This is just the beginning."
"Soon... this World will grovel at my feet."
...V.G.D. Base, Homelander's office.
Homelander was looking at the system panel, grinning from ear to ear.
The trip to Sokovia was like Qin Shi Huang touching an electric gate — he won big.
The system prompt sounded like heavenly music:
"Earth Region Popularity Level Increased: Widely Praised!"
"Ability Enhancement: Super Strength (20,000 tons normal state)!"
"Ability Enhancement: Super Speed (Mach 800 limit)!"
"Ability Enhancement: magic Resistance (Lesser Barrier)!"
"Ability Enhancement: Heat Vision (44,000℃ focused state)!"
Homelander looked at these stats and nodded in satisfaction.
With this power, plus his buff bonuses, the Earth region could now be considered his comfort zone.
Of course, there were still powerful unborn threats on Earth, but there was no rush; he still had time to grow.
But the next prompt was the real bombshell, making Homelander temporarily stop breathing.
"New Ability Unlocked: Injustice Form!!"
"Description: The scales of the heart tilt, and absolute power descends."
"Effect: When activated, continuously burns current popularity points as fuel to enhance all attribute abilities. The enhancement magnitude depends on the amount of popularity points consumed per second."
"The burning value is controlled by the host; the more popularity points invested, the higher the amplification multiplier. There is no upper limit to the amplification!"
"The state can be manually deactivated, or automatically deactivated when popularity points are exhausted. Before deactivation, the popularity level will not drop."
..."No upper limit..."
Homelander murmured softly, a faint red light flickering in his eyes.
This was a truly powerful weapon.
Although it was a pay-to-win skill, it meant that as long as he had enough popularity, he could even exterminate the Celestials, or even Ultron with six Infinity Stones.
"Is popularity truly invincible now?"
Homelander smiled.
"I like it."
Along with that, he checked his special popularity points.
"Current Special Popularity Points: 178,500"
This was a number that made him conflicted.
Although the previous draws had some good things, like the American Glutes... tsk, he always felt something was missing.
"Should I save up for a ten-pull?"
Homelander stroked his chin, lost in thought.
"Single pulls are metaphysics, ten-pulls are science?"
Just as he was hesitating, about to take that step into the abyss of gambling...
"Knock knock knock."
The office door was knocked.
"Come in." Homelander put away the system interface and resumed his dignified sitting posture.
The door opened.
Jessica Jones walked in, wearing her capable leather jacket, followed by Pietro Maximoff and Wanda Maximoff.
Wanda had changed out of her red jacket and into a simple red low-cut dress.
It gave her a mix of youthful innocence and feminine charm, coupled with those large eyes that seemed untouched by the World.
Homelander had to admit that in the Marvel World, Wanda's beauty was in a league of its own.
"Boss!" Pietro greeted first, "This is my sister, Wanda. I brought her to report in!"
Wanda nervously looked up, glanced at Homelander sitting there, then quickly lowered her head, fully displaying her introverted nature.
Homelander stood up, walked around the desk, and approached Wanda, smiling like a friendly older brother.
Homelander showed a gentle smile, "Wanda, are you getting used to living here?"
"...It's good." Wanda nervously clutched the hem of her dress, "Thank you, Mr. Starr. That apartment... it's too big, I'm not used to it yet."
"You'll get used to it. This will be your new beginning."
Homelander extended his hand: "My name is Anthony Starr. Of course, you can call me Anthony, or like Pietro, you can call me Boss."
Wanda reached out and gently clasped Homelander's hand.
Warm, strong.
"Hello... Anthony." Wanda's voice trembled slightly.
"Alright, now that everyone's here."
Homelander looked at Jessica.
"Jessica, get to know each other. This is Wanda, Pietro's sister."
Then he turned to Wanda.
"This is Jessica Jones, the Queen Maeve. She's also our Vice Captain and VGD Chief Instructor. Because Captain Rogers is handling some fieldwork, Jessica is currently acting as the Chief Instructor of the Base."
"Hello, Instructor!" Pietro immediately saluted, his movements exaggerated.
Jessica rolled her eyes, but still nodded at Wanda, her tone unusually gentle:
"Welcome. Although there are many freaks here, at least the food is good."
"Thank you." Wanda looked at Jessica, giving a shy smile.
"So..." Homelander arranged, "Wanda, you can follow Jessica to familiarize yourself with the environment first. She'll teach you how to be a... well, a proper superhero."
"Um..."
Wanda, who had been looking down, suddenly spoke.
She looked up, a certain light shimmering in her beautiful eyes.
"Um, Anthony... can I study by your side?"
The entire room was silent for a second.
Pietro's mouth hung open, looking at his sister, then at his boss.
Jessica's eyebrows instantly shot up, her gaze becoming sharp.
"With me?" Homelander was also stunned for a moment.
"Yes." Wanda plucked up her courage and stepped forward, "In Sokovia, you said you would guide me. You said I had talent, and that you would teach me how to control this power."
"So... I want to be closer to you. That way I can learn faster."
Wanda's eyes were sincere and eager, and she made no attempt to hide it.
Homelander looked at her, his heart stirring slightly.
To be honest, who could refuse such a request from the Scarlet Witch?
Having such a beautiful, infinitely potential girl, whose eyes were solely on you, following you around, serving tea and water—it was every man's dream.
But...
