Chapter 51 - Adolescence - 5

The being known as Shunkan Isshun was, contrary to common opinion, not slacking off on his bed.

It was a rare occasion.

Toru had gone out to buy supplies for middle school, and Nejire was at the doctor's.

A while back, when he and Nejire had been brainstorming costume ideas, Isshun had come up with a plan.

Nejire's Quirk, Wave Motion, used her ATP as fuel, converting it into energy in the form of a spiral blast wave.

So, theoretically, couldn't Isshun teleport his own ATP to Nejire if she ran low?

Or at least develop a method to stockpile ATP and transfer it to her when necessary?

The issue at the time he was brainstorming had been precision. Isshun hadn't been able to zoom in accurately enough through his Domain to isolate ATP from the rest of his body.

In other words, he hadn't been able to zoom in far enough to perceive atoms.

Now, he could.

Well, only within his own body.

By shrinking his Domain until it barely covered his entire form, Isshun could isolate and identify matter at an atomic scale within the Domain, which was just his own body.

From there, he could teleport the ATP from himself into Nejire, who existed within a completely separate Domain which was created through accumulated DNA.

Isshun himself didn't require stamina to use Teleportation.

The thing doing the teleporting was his Personal Reality.

However, the sensation of fatigue was unpleasant.

So what Isshun needed was a container to store his excess ATP within before he went to bed.

There were two viable shapes.

A torus.

Or a sphere.

Both were structurally stable three-dimensional shapes suitable for maintaining a vacuum.

However, Isshun thought it would look strange to have a floating ball following him around.

So, a halo it was.

Creating a vacuum within the shape was simple.

He simply teleported everything inside the designated shape out.

Not only would this prevent external interference by other factors, it would also simplify teleportation within the vacuum, since ATP would be the only substance present.

With the exception of virtual particles.

But that was a topic no one else would understand.

Now Isshun needed a decent amount of stainless steel.

Technically, a vacuum chamber didn't require stainless steel specifically, but this was a prototype. It made sense to use a conventional material suited for vacuum environments.

In the future, using some advanced metal expected from a futuristic civilization like My Hero Academia, a better looking version could be made.

As Isshun expanded his Domain back to its usual size, intending to acquire materials, he noticed some familiar figures.

Or rather, living in Tokyo, it wasn't unusual to see familiar people.

The Domain's radius might have increased to more than two kilometers, but Isshun kept it at a safe two kilometers to increase the accuracy within the Domain.

It wasn't like there existed anyone who was capable of traversing two kilometers before he noticed.

Maybe All Might in his prime, but that might be giving him too much credit.

What Isshun was seeing now, was the man who seemed to be a part of every single event in My Hero Academia fanfiction, Eraserhead, and Principal Nezu.

'…Did a fanfiction protagonist get caught by Nezu or something?'

Isshun idly wondered.

He teleported onto the living room couch, where Kako and Genzai sat watching television.

"Mom."

"Hm?" Kako replied.

"Can I get some stainless steel?"

Both Kako and Genzai turned toward him, confused.

"...What for?" Genzai asked.

"I'm making something," Isshun replied.

Kako tilted her head.

"For Nejire-chan?"

Isshun paused.

Kako and Genzai exchanged a knowing look, then turned their heads to Isshun.

"It's for myself," Isshun said flatly.

After all, he would be the one wearing the halo.

By anchoring it to a fixed coordinate relative to his head, he could create a stable headpiece that remained perfectly in place.

"Is that so?" Kako hummed, clearly unconvinced. "How much do you need?"

Isshun paused.

He could perfectly change the orientation of the steel anyways, so in essence he didn't even need to buy a pure brick of stainless steel.

Just some scraps enough for him to extract the amount would be fine enough.

"I just need some material," Isshun said. "It can be anything. Forks, spoons, scraps…"

His voice trailed off.

'Now why in the world is Nezu and Eraserhead coming to our apartment?'

Isshun already knew the Quirks and behavioral patterns of everyone within his apartment complex.

And he knew that there was no one who seemed to be edgy or self-assured enough to do any Vigilante work.

Some people might say privacy issues, but at this point, unless Isshun saw them with his own eyes, he saw them more as moving variables than actual people.

Similar to looking at 3d models without any visible texture.

He could still distinguish them easily through memory, which was how he knew the visitors were Nezu and Eraserhead.

'...They're probably here for me.'

Isshun wasn't about to lose IQ points the moment he saw characters he knew from the anime.

With no other people around his Domain that could possibly arouse the interest of Nezu, it was basically confirmed it was for him.

Isshun may have done the bare minimum to keep it hidden, but if someone brute forced every single possibility it was only a matter of time.

"Shun-kun?" Kako asked, as his son suddenly trailed off and went into thought.

"Are you alright?" she asked gently.

Isshun looked up to see his parents' concerned faces, and said with resignation.

"I got caught."

Kako blinked in confusion, while Genzai stiffened.

Kako quickly noticed, looking at him with suspicion.

"…Caught doing what?" Kako asked slowly.

Genzai looked at Isshun for assistance, but Isshun only shook his head.

'...You're on your own.'

"...Honey, do you know about the Sky Egg Stasis—" Genzai started, but Kako instantly understood what Genzai was talking about.

"I already suspected it was Shun-kun..." Kako started, which made Genzai relax, but Kako smacked the back of his head. "But you hid it from me?!"

"Ack!"

Genzai clutched his head.

Kako ignored him and turned back to Isshun.

"So is it the police, Shun-kun?" Kako asked.

Kako and Genzai, being two people with only Isshun and themselves as family, prioritized family and friends over the law.

So while Kako was upset that Genzai and Isshun had hidden it from her, it was more or less being mad at the secret rather than what actually happened.

"You should stay at Nejire-chan's house for a while," Kako said firmly. "We'll deny everything. I'll message you when it's safe to come back—"

"Wait." Isshun stopped her before she started an entire rant of evading the police.

"It isn't the police."

Kako blinked, before tilting her head in confusion. "Then who is it?"

Isshun hesitated.

"Uh… a Pro Hero?"

Kako froze.

Then immediately stood up.

"Isn't that worse?!"

I"M NOT ABANDONING THE TBHX SO RELAX!

I just need time to plan it out, so lemme cook with that one. I already had a plan for the new fic even before i started this fic, and just needed to write it this time.

That one actually has a schedule of one-two chaps a week(also with powerstone goals), but its WAY longer in terms of chapter length.

Feel free to check it out.
