A/N: Don't really like doing author's notes at the beginning of a chapter, but this is an omake exception.
This is a non-canon scene from a possible future. Enjoy.
And everyone else, have a good Valentine's day with your significant other.

"Shun-chan?"
"Shun-chan!"
"Are you awake?"
Isshun squinted as sunlight flooded his vision, blinking until the brightness faded. When his sight finally cleared, Nejire stood above him in a white sundress, smiling brightly.
"Silly, what are you doing sleeping on the grass?"
Isshun stared at her blinding smile, then glanced down at himself. Grass clung to his clothes, scattered by the wind.
"...I was just taking a nap."
"Hehe, is that so?" She tilted her head, tapping a finger against her lip. "Did you have a good dream?"
"No. I had… a very sad dream."
"Eh?" Nejire leaned closer, confusion clear on her face. "What was it about?"
"I… don't remember." He shook his head.
"Ehhh…" She pouted briefly before brightening again. "Anyway, are you busy today, Shun-chan?"
Isshun paused, then shook his head. "…It's a weekend. What could I be busy with?"
"Really?" Nejire perked up. "Then… do you want to go on a small adventure with me?"
"You wouldn't let me refuse anyway," Isshun muttered, standing up. "So where are we going?"
"Saitama! Isn't it nostalgic to go back to where we first met?" Nejire said, floating around him excitedly.
"Isn't that pretty far from Musutafu?" Isshun said, holding out a hand for her to grab.
Nejire shook her head. "We should go by train!" She pulled out two tickets and offered one to him.
"Your teleportation makes things convenient, but sometimes the journey matters more than the destination, don't you think?"
"…Really?" he mused, taking the ticket anyway.

"Wow… nothing's changed since we left, has it?" Nejire said, wandering through the neighborhood.
The swings were the same. The park was the same.
When they entered the convenience store nearby, Nejire immediately headed for the ice cream freezer.
"Ice cream in February?" Isshun commented.
"Ehe… but you eat ice cream all the time, Shun-chan," Nejire protested, handing him a blueberry popsicle while grabbing a vanilla cone for herself.
At the counter, the cashier glanced at Isshun, then at the ice creams.
"That'll be 106 yen."
Isshun looked to Nejire, waiting for her to pull out her wallet. She just smiled at him innocently.
He sighed and paid for both.
Ice creams in hand, they walked toward a familiar place.
"Woah, no one moved in after we left?" Nejire wondered, looking at the dull houses lined up side by side.
She skipped to her old home and stopped at the door.
"…If no one's home, it should be fine to go in… right?" She glanced back at Isshun with a pleading look.
Without a word, Isshun stepped forward and teleported them both inside. The distance was short enough that he didn't need to touch her.
"Thanks, Shun-chan!" Nejire said, floating through the dusty rooms as Isshun followed.
She paused in each room, reminiscing, until she reached her old bedroom.
Slowly, she opened the door. Just as expected—it was empty.
Nejire looked around in interest, looking back at Isshun.
"I remember having all my cups on that shelf," she said, gesturing toward faint marks on the floor where the furniture once stood.
"Remember when we first started the cup phones, I decorated the first phones for the both of us?"
"Yeah—and I remember you getting competitive after a while," Isshun teased.
Nejire pouted and drifted toward the window.
Across from it was another closed window, curtains drawn.
She glanced back at Isshun expectantly.
"...Wait here."
Isshun vanished. Seconds later, the opposite curtains were pulled aside as he opened the window.
Nejire stood there, grinning, a cup phone already prepared in her hands.
'When did she even get that ready?'
Isshun inwardly mused, before opening his hands out in preparation.
Nejire got into a baseballer's position, accurately throwing it into Isshun's hands.
Isshun glanced down at the cup's design.
'...Isn't this the first cup I ever drew for her?'
And that was a while ago. Was it really sanitary to put this up to his mouth?
Ignoring the questionable hygiene, he lifted it to his ear after Nejire's urging.
"Shun-chan!"
He lowered the cup, and watched Nejire's expectant expression, before sighing.
"...What?"
"Happy Valentine's Day!"
He lowered the cup, to see Nejire, holding out a cutely packaged chocolate in her hands.
Teleporting back into the room, Isshun held out his hand as she placed them into it.
"Don't forget to pay me back tenfold for White Day!"
"...And how much are these?"
"Homemade!" Nejire declared. "So they're priceless!"
"Can I get a refund?" Isshun asked.
She shook her head. "Nope! You have to give me something priceless in return!"
He hummed in thought.
"But since you already gave me something priceless before," she added, "I'll be happy if you get me flowers!"
"What kind?"
"White lilies!"
"…Was the necklace really that important?" Isshun asked quietly.
Nejire nodded enthusiastically. "It's my favorite gift you've ever given me! I'll never take it off!"
"Even when you sleep?"
"Even when I sleep!"
"Even when you work?"
"Even when I work!"
"Even when—"
"Yes, even then!" Nejire pouted. "I'd never take off something you gave me."
"...Is that so?" Isshun nodded. "I'm glad."
"Then let's go back to Musutafu!" Nejire held out another ticket.
"Yeah."

On the train, Isshun noticed Nejire staring out the window before glancing back at him.
"What are you looking at me for Shun-chan?" She asked.
"I was just thinking."
"Are you bored that we're riding the train? This won't do, Shun-chan!" Nejire wagged her finger in front of him. "Like I said earlier, you have to learn to appreciate the journey."
"...Is that really necessary?"
"Of course."
--<>--
"So, what are we going to do here in Musutafu?" Isshun asked.
"I left something at home! Let's go there first."
Isshun nodded.
"By walking, of course!" Nejire interrupted before Isshun could say anything.
"...I didn't even say anything yet."
"I already knew what you were going to say anyway, Shun-chan." Nejire giggled. "We've been friends for basically forever, after all."
Isshun opened the door to Nejire's house, where there was someone cooking in the kitchen.
Nejire immediately made her way into her room, looking for something she forgot.
"Welcome back, honey," Shiori said without turning.
"It's me, Auntie," Isshun said awkwardly.
Shiori turned her head to see Isshun. "Oh! Sorry, Shun-kun. I thought it was Mitsuru. Do you need something?"
Isshun shook his head. "Just getting something for Nejire."
"…Nejire-chan?" Shiori paused, then returned to cooking. "If you come back later, you're welcome to stay for dinner."
Isshun shook his head. "I'm fine. But thank you anyway, Auntie."
Shiori nodded.
Isshun made his way into Nejire's room, to see what was basically a pigsty. "...Don't you clean your room?" he mumbled.
"Well…" Nejire trailed off, before leaving the room, Isshun following her.
"Did you find what you were looking for?" He asked.
"Mhm!" Nejire nodded.
"So, where are we going next?" Isshun asked.
"How about the beach?" Nejire suggested. "It isn't that far from here!"
"...Sure."
--<>--
"Did you hear, a while back, a middle schooler cleaned this entire beach up!" Nejire said, looking at the sunset.
"Really?"
"Mhm! There was even an entire article on it! There used to be this huuuuge trash pile on this entire beach!"
Nejire walked along the coast, hands clasped behind her back, with Isshun following just a step behind her.
After a while, she spoke again.
"Hey, Shun-chan?"
"...Hmm?"
"Can I ask about the bad dream you had when I woke you up?"
"What about it? I think I already told you, I forgot." Isshun shrugged.
Nejire glanced back at him, her hands still behind her back, a fond smile on her face.
"Really?"
"...Nejire."
Isshun stopped walking.
"Hmm?"
"Why did you lie?"
"Lie about what?" She tilted her head.
"About wearing the necklace."
"Oh…so you knew?" Nejire mused.
"I… knew from the very beginning."
Nejire hummed softly, then smiled again. "I know you knew." She turned forward. "Shun-chan knows everything, after all."
Before Isshun could respond, she continued.
"Hey Shun-chan—no. Isshun."
She turned back once more, royal blue eyes meeting his golden ones.
"Do you regret meeting me?"
"...I would never regret meeting you."
"…That so~" Nejire hummed, clearly satisfied.
"Nejire."
"Hmm?"
"Do you regret meeting me?"
She shook her head immediately.
"Never."
"...Then why?"
He couldn't understand.
Nejire didn't answer right away.
"Hey, Isshun."
"...Yeah?"
"Did you know?"
"...Know what?"
"I might regret a lot of things in my life," Nejire said softly, "but there are two things I'll never regret."
Something about her tone made Isshun uneasy.
"...Stop talking."
"One is that I will never regret meeting you."
"Don't continue." Isshun's voice wavered.
"The second—"
"...Please."
Nejire smiled at him again.
The same familiar smile she'd shown him countless times before.
"I'll never regret loving you."
"…Nejire, please." Isshun stared at her blinding smile.
"Isshun."
"...Nejire."
He couldn't look away from her—she almost didn't feel real.
"…And," Nejire continued gently.
"Stop…! Please, I'm begging you." Isshun's voice cracked.
"I'm sorry." Her smile turned resigned.
"You're forgiven, Nejire, so please—"
"But you already know, don't you Isshun?"
Isshun fell silent.
"When I said to appreciate the journey," Nejire mused, "it was just my selfish wish for you not to forget me."
"I just wanted one last normal day with you."
She paused.
"But you know, Isshun?"
"...Yeah?"
"I always felt like you should smile more."
Isshun looked at her as she lifted the corners of her mouth encouragingly.
Slowly, he forced a smile in return.
Nejire reached into her pocket and pulled out the familiar necklace, slipping it around her own neck.
"Don't forget me, Isshun."
"..."
"Isshun?"
"...I'll never forget you."
"Goodbye, Isshun."
"...Goodbye, Nejire."
Isshun blinked.
The woman in front of him was gone.
But as he looked around, a familiar voice echoed softly in his ear.
"I love you, Isshun."
"Happy Valentine's Day."

A/N: I was originally going to go with a cozy omake for valentines, but since im all on my lonesome, decided on an angsty omake. I'm not particularly good at writing angst so I hope you enjoyed.
Here's all the foreshadowing i put in this chapter before the end!
Nejire never touched Isshun once.
Cashier didn't notice Nejire at all.
White lilies represent the restored innocence of the soul after death.
Nejire lied about her wearing the necklace.
Nejire's mom doesn't notice Nejire either and paused when Isshun mentioned Nejire.
Nejire's room isn't clean.
Also the reason behind her death isn't explained. It's just that she lied about wearing her necklace so that Isshun wasn't paying attention when she died to have her death be open ended.
