Jayvion
I walked into the dark warehouse. The cold, damp smell of blood hit my nostrils. The only light was from the single bulb hanging over a chair where Felix was tied, his hands spread on the table in front of him. Bruised and terrified.
I entered with a chilling calmness, my steps felt like a ticking bomb. I'd shed the suit jacket and rolled up the sleeves of my shirt. The Twyla tattoo visible like a brand.
Felix looked up when he saw a shadow looming over him. He gasped in terror as if it's his first time coming face to face with a devil. I gave myself a moment to savour the terror in his eyes.
"No, you can't do this. She sent the pictures herself!" He was gasping, trying to bluff.
I smirked, circling him like a shark about to devour its prey.
"Yet you tried to sell it. You traded what was never yours"
I leaned down, eye level with him while he squirmed on the chair.
"The police will look for a man who stole from a crime lord and ran. Your digital footprint is gone. Your car will be found abandoned. You no longer exist, except for me" I paused, letting it sink in. Then my voice dropped to a dangerous whisper, only for him to hear.
"Then you'll soon seize to exist, even for me"
I stretched my hand and Trevor stepped out of the shadows, handing me a small axe.
I straightened, my expression hardening and he gasped sighting the axe in my hand.
I examined his fingers splayed out on the table and smirked.
"Let's start with the hands that sent the pictures to her friend" I set the axe on his right pinky finger, applying deliberate low pressure, letting him feel every bit of the pain. He screamed out as his pinky finger rolled off the table, blood oozing out of where his finger used to be.
"You're a monster! Damnit!" He spat out, yelling. My eyes narrowed. My voice dropped another icy degree, making him shudder.
"I am a monster to those who ever think of hurting what's mine"
"And this..." I chopped off two of his fingers at a time. His screams were deafening but that was the best part about torture. Deeply satisfying.
"...is what I do when you touch what's mine" I added when his screams quieted.
"Please don't" he begged when I set the axe on his left thumb.
"Shhh, we're getting to the good part" I chopped the thumb off and his screams reverberated through my ears. Incredibly fulfilling. I severed two more fingers before dropping the axe for my signature silver venetian dagger.
"Let's move to the eyes that saw what's mine" I twirled the dagger between my fingers and his eyes widened.
"No, no, nooo--" I plunged the dagger into his right eye. His pleadings were cut short to a tremendous scream. I pulled the dagger out, ever so slowly as he kept screaming.
I'm done with him.
I nodded towards Trevor and he came forward, eyes cold and inhuman.
"Finish him" the message is clear and he understood.
I walked out of the warehouse, with the dagger dripping blood. The last thing I heard was Felix's deafening scream, followed by an odd silence.
Done.
Aurelia
Dawn was breaking. Soft grey light illuminating the room. I sat awake on the couch, Freya was beside me, wrapped in blanket. The encrypted phone clutched tightly in my hand, waiting.
I felt a presence-- whiskey sent filled the room as Jayvion enters. I sprang my feet up and rushed towards him. He didn't sit but his presence filled the room.
"Is it...done?" I asked, my voice low and my eyes wide with gratitude and dread.
"It is" his voice was unusually cold and distant as he stared down at me. I gulped.
"Thank you, Jayvion. I...I don't know how--"
"Why didn't you tell me?" He cut me off, amber eyes blazing with intensity.
"I..I..I was ashamed. I was...scared. It was my past. I thought I could handle it" I stuttered. I wasn't lying. I'm too ashamed to tell him.
"Your past?" A low humorless sound escape from him as he laughed.
"The moment you became mine, your past became my responsibility. Your tears became my enemy. You let him make you scared. You let him make you cry. Instead pressing that one button that will bring me" his voice wasn't loud but I'd swear it hits harder than yelling at me.
"I'm.. I'm sorry" my voice was barely audible as I apologized.
He moved closer. I wobbled but held my ground.
"Do you understand who you are to me?" He asked.
"You're not a burden. You're the reason I breath. You are the light in my dark world" he paused, letting that hang between us.
"And I'd burn the fucking city down before I let anyone from your past haunt you. I'm obsessed with you that much" he cradled my face in his palms like something precious. Obsessed.
"The next time something like this happen, you call me instantly. Because your pain is mine. Just like your pleasure. Just like you're mine" I was emotional. Hell this is much for a lesson. I can't believe trying to be independent caused the crisis. Now I have to surrender and give him everything he asked.
"Hush now, my emotional Little Writer" for the first time, he pulled me into a hug. I sobbed as he wrapped his hand around my tiny waist and stroke my hair with the other.
"Okay, now explain how it is done. Because 'erased' is too damn vague for my liking" I heard Freya's voice from behind. Oh no. She's awake and asking. I tried pulling back from Jayvion but his grip only tightened.
His gaze slid down to her. It was the look a wolf gives to a barking dog, that has wandered in its territory.
"The details is not for you to know" his voice was dismissive but I knew better, Freya is persistent.
"For real? Who do you think you are Mr tall brooding brown eyes man?!" She stood up, her hands at the either side of her waist as she glared up at him. I couldn't suppress a chuckle.
"It's amber, Freya" I corrected. Her cheeks heated in embarrassment.
"Whatever. Back to you. Who are you? Because my best friend here is scared of you" she asked. Oh Freya.
Jayvion's gave locked on mine again. "Are you, Little Writer?" He asked.
I shook my head. "I'm not, Molten Amber" this is the second time I called him with this nickname and I watched his eyes glint.
"Right, Ms Vale. Trevor will escort you home" he nodded at the door and Trevor walked in. It's like he'd been there the whole time.
"I'm not leaving you alone with him! Who knows what he'll do to you while I'm gone!" Freya crossed her arms in a defensive manner. Her head was held up high, glaring at both Jayvion and Trevor. Oh Jayvion who deals with people when they look at him wrong. But I know he wouldn't hurt Freya.
"Freya, I'm fine. He just saved me. Trust me, I'm safe with him" I said, my voice soft but convincing as Jayvion's grip further tightened, pulling me further to his body.
Freya's gaze darted between me and Jayvion and she huffed.
"Fine. But I'll call you every thirty minutes to check on you. And you!" She pointed a finger at Jayvion. Trevor stepped in, earning himself a glare from Freya, but Jayvion signaled him to stand down.
"If you hurt her, I will find a way to end you. Don't think being huge and scary makes you untouchable" it was a ridiculous threat fueled only by her overprotective nature. Of course she's scared of him but she wouldn't admit. Not Freya.
"Only a fool hurts what he loves"
