Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: Praise the Sun!

Moria hasn't practiced Haki for many years since his narrow escape from Kaido.

Actually, it wasn't a matter of whether he wanted to or not.

After being brutally trampled by Kaido, and all his cherished companions sacrificed their lives to open an escape route for him, he could no longer use Haki.

Without ambition, timid and cowardly, no longer believing in his own strength, and no longer willing to entrust his feelings to his companions, he turned to creating zombie troops as cannon fodder.

Such a mind cannot meet the conditions for activating Haki, because the essence of Haki can be said to be the power of the mind.

But even so, Moria still retained a bit of his once-possessed Observation Haki perception.

And now, he had a dangerous sensation that made his hair stand on end.

In the sky, under the heavy clouds, something that made his whole body bristle was 'peeping' at him.

This fatal sense of dread instantly reminded Moria of facing Kaido, that fear as if encountering a natural enemy.

"Shadow's Asgard!!!!"

No longer caring about losses, Moria screamed, unleashing his strongest killer move.

In an instant, the shadows of all the zombies in the entire Thriller Bark flew into Moria's shadow.

His body became incredibly massive.

After absorbing the shadows of up to a thousand people, Moria became like a giant, and his strength instantly surged!

But as he used this move, his sanity almost instantly plummeted.

This was a killer move he had never truly mastered after completing it.

If it were Moria, once a hero of the West Blue, he might have been able to maintain his sanity under the thousand-shadow boost of Shadow's Asgard.

His general direction was actually not wrong.

There was no problem with the Shadow-Shadow Fruit creating a zombie army.

However, by developing the fruit's external effects but not the fruit itself, he would eventually pay the price for such adevelopment.

"Shadow Horn Spear!"

The giant Moria clapped his hands on the ground, and a shadow spear, dozens of times larger than before, emerged from the shadow on the sea surface, thrusting towards the direction that terrified him.

The clouds were torn apart by the dark shadow, and beyond them was an iron giant carrying a weapon like a rocket launcher.

What made Moria's heart pound, what he instinctively feared, was that 'rocket launcher.'

Whoosh!!!

A long, reddish-green tail flame carried an arrow-shaped missile towards the Thriller Bark behind Moria.

"Don't even think about it, Shadow Revolution!!!"

Moria's voice shrieked, long and drawn out, as the shadow beneath him surged out like a tide, grasping at the 'rocket' that gave him a strong sense of foreboding!

The surging dark shadow swallowed the 'rocket' like a devouring maw.

Moria tried to use his ability to directly 'annihilate' this rocket.

"Ah, what a powerful ability." Shin looked at Moria, who had swallowed the 'rocket,' and chuckled with pleasure.

If it were someone else, he might have to worry about whether the opponent's illogical Devil Fruit ability would directly transfer or annihilate it.

But with Moria, he had the least to worry about.

Zombies whose shadows are cut by the Shadow-Shadow Fruit will turn to ash under sunlight.

Conversely, Moria's Shadow-Shadow Fruit will also be greatly weakened under sunlight.

Ordinary sunlight wouldn't make Moria's ability ineffective, but this thing...

Just as Moria thought he had defused Shin's attack, his face suddenly changed.

"What, what is that!!!!!"

Moria shrieked, his body unnaturally swelling.

He felt an immense energy expanding within his shadow.

And most critically, the nature of this energy was - sunlight?!

"That's right, that's the sun."

Shin looked at Moria, who was expanding like a blown-up balloon on the screen, and chuckled with pleasure.

"Though it's a bit of an overkill to blow up a pretentious ship."

This was a low-yield tactical nuclear missile that Shin had exchanged for 20,000 points.

Of course, "low-yield" was only in the context of the UC world's vast nuclear reserves.

This was a low-yield tactical nuclear missile equipped with a miniature Minovsky reactor, with a yield of only 200 kilotons.

This meant Moria was hit with a blast five times the yield of those dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and even more critically, because it was a new type of nuclear missile equipped with a Minovsky reactor, theoretically, it was a 'fusion bomb' for use in space combat.

"This is an artificial 'sun', you know. Enjoy the feeling of embracing the sun up close~~"

Shin, in the cockpit, laughed maliciously, slowly spreading his arms.

"Praise...the sun!"

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!"

Moria, no longer able to control the wildly rampaging energy within him, let out a painful, shrill scream.

The light broke through the confines of his Shadow Revolution, and he exploded like a balloon at its limit.

All his shadows instantly dissipated under that illuminating light.

With unwillingness and fear, thousands of shadows were instantly dissolved and dispersed by that 'sun,' and Moria's body could not possibly survive the high temperatures that dissolved everything at the center of that light.

The moment the thousand substitute shadows were annihilated by the sun, Moria turned to ash.

And that light left Moria's shadow and ignited directly above the Thriller Bark!

The light that burst forth in that instant was a blinding radiance, brighter and more dazzling than the scorching sun hanging in the sky.

Within the area engulfed by that light, everything, whether solid or not, was instantly annihilated into dust.

And all the zombies illuminated by that light radiation shrieked and turned to ash.

That light - was the light of the sun.

Then, there was the booming flash of fire.

Like the collapse of heaven and earth, violent flames, following a terrifying shockwave, erupted from top to bottom, bounced off the sea surface, and formed a gigantic mushroom cloud upwards.

From the absolute annihilation at the center, then hundreds of kilometers within the flame-engulfed area were incinerated by the violent light radiation, and even more terrifying was the subsequent shockwave.

Extending outwards in all directions from the light radiation's range, Thriller Bark had already turned to ash under the light radiation.

The shockwave damaged thousands of kilometers of the sea area around its epicenter!

The violent high-pressure airflow directly pushed away the surrounding sea, forming a huge void in the sea area beneath Thriller Bark.

The already-ashy ship fell into the bottom of that void.

The impact and destructive light lasted for several seconds.

Then, the sound only just arrived.

The violent, ear-splitting explosion almost vibrated all nearby islands.

Countless people were startled awake, disheveled, thinking it was a divine punishment.

The 'hollowed out' sea began to flow back after the violent high-pressure airflow swept through, but the huge void formed a massive vortex as the seawater flowed back.

All of this was like a natural retribution, like the punishment of gods.

However, all of this was merely a single weapon.

"What, what kind of weapon is this...?"

"This power, it's like an Ancient Weapon - no, even more terrifying than an Ancient Weapon!"

On the other end of the Projection Den Den Mushi, the Five Elders, Sengoku, and Momonga all gaped, their faces filled with uncontrollable shock, then fell into a long silence.

This had exceeded the scope of their assessment and prediction.

That weapon had surpassed their imagination.

Even the dynamite rock sealed by the Five Elders had less than one-tenth the destructive power of that terrifying 'rocket,' and most importantly, this 'rocket' did not look that large.

Such a weapon could absolutely change the balance of the sea - no, it could change the balance of the world!

"Can we continue to negotiate the terms?"

Shin looked at the Five Elders' shocked expressions simulated by the Den Den Mushi and chuckled softly.

"Is this enough for me to become a Warlord?"
