Chapter 229 - İki Yüz Yirmi Dokuz

"It's left to you to handle this place; you can take out that piss-pants while you're at it!"

The man, whose eyes were bulging out of their sockets with fear, would understand nothing of the words of the female orc looking at him until a huge chunk was torn from his neck accompanied by a white light.

"More than half of these have turned into puree; what would it have cost if you left the killing to those with you? You know I like meat in large chunks!"

The soldiers, who were rolling on the ground laughing, fell into silence as a tiny white rabbit, whose origin was unclear, took their amusement away. Although they had long gotten used to the existence of Nafız's power animal Alis, it didn't stop their hair from standing on end every time they saw her.

"Now, let's come to you!"

Addressing the Grey Hyenas, almost all of whom had survived, Nafız's eyes were flashing like flint.

"Your destination is the Orc Steppes; when you reach the border, you will be met by the warriors waiting for you. My advice would be to make good use of this second chance granted to you; let your miserable lives gain some meaning!"

"Also, there might be those among you who want to continue their old habits; if they wish to turn into a pool of blood right where they stand, they may continue!"

No one except a few people within her units understood what Nafız meant by her last sentence, but those who knew they were being addressed could almost smell the cold metal pressing against their throats in these moments.

Having destroyed their last targets as well, the two friends would meet at the promised place after sending the units they commanded to the Orc Steppes. Nafız, who managed to arrive first at the rendezvous point, greeted the duo advancing toward her with slow steps with a huge smile.

"Ainle, the rest is up to you; show us the way to the entrance of the second dungeon!"

Just as Nafız and Alyon, taking the druid with whom they had previously made an agreement, began to advance toward the second dungeon on the continent, a long-haired man in his late middle age was having a nervous breakdown exactly in the opposite direction from them.

"Where are these dishonorable scines? Find them for me immediately!"

When Lord Galeno arrived at the place told to him, he encountered a huge nothingness; the commander, who lost all his support units as a result of the gamble he played, was about to erupt like a volcano.

Finding no trace in the search conducted up to the border of the neighboring continent would make things much more interesting; at the same moment, reconnaissance units were returning at full speed from the direction of the region invaded by the Lands of Light.

"Sir, our warriors have caught some tracks!"

Galeno was living the last moments of his patience when his favorite, Fraco, came to him with promising news.

"We assume the orcs we are pursuing have fled toward the lands controlled by our arch-enemies!"

The long-haired man's fever, which had peaked, would suddenly drop; because he had never considered this possibility, he was at a loss for what to do.

"Are you sure?"

A short while later, turning to the commander whose word he trusted more than anyone, Galeno asked in a hushed voice.

"Sir, the tracks are too clear to be questioned, but I cannot guarantee you that this isn't another deception!"

Unlike his superior, Fraco, who had no personal issue with the people they were chasing, didn't give up speaking cautiously; what they had seen so far told him that their enemies were not as simple as thought.

"We cannot turn back after coming this far; prepare the units, our direction is the region under the domination of the Lands of Light!"

Although his subordinate finished his words with a negative attitude, the commander had made his decision again by succumbing to his ambition and rage; in this world where the order cuts iron, the Black Lilies had no choice but to do as told.

After a journey of about half a day, Galeno's units reached the border between the region belonging to the Mercenaries and the area ruled by the Lands of Light. Although the soldiers, who were run ragged back and forth like mill horses without stopping, were exhausted, they could only curse inwardly due to the fear of death.

"Sir, during the hundred-year occupation, no one has entered the lands of other civilizations without permission; this action of ours will have a consequence!"

The only person who could speak in these moments was Fraco; although he had to show the audacity to overstep his bounds because there was a possibility of causing a small-scale war, he couldn't stay silent.

"If you utter one more word, those will be the last words coming out of your mouth!"

Galeno had gone mad; he began to walk with rapid steps to cross the border together with his niece Gregoria, who followed him just one step behind.

"They say people mature as they age, but I see that this saying is not quite valid for you!"

The Commander-in-Chief of the Black Lilies, taking his last step to cross the spiritual line separating the two regions, would freeze where he stood the moment he heard the words spoken in a tone reminiscent of thunder.

Looking around as if searching for something with his eyes, Galeno's face became perhaps uglier than ever when he achieved his goal before two breaths passed.

"I advise you to heed the words of the brat behind you; you are about to make an irreversible mistake!"

The voice was coming from the air, five steps above the ground; the speaker was a man whose long white robe was trimmed with dazzling gold strips at the edges.

When this person descended to the ground amidst the astonished gazes of the army whose tongues hung out from exhaustion, the warriors in the front lines could see him clearly.

With a height close to two meters, wheaten blonde hair neatly parted in the middle, and a halo faintly visible above his head, this man looked almost like an angel descended from the sky.

"Sacred Twin of the Golden Crown!"

While saying the name of the man who suddenly appeared before him, Galeno wasn't speaking, he was practically spitting; while breathing rapidly through his widely flared nostrils, one of his hands had already involuntarily formed a fist.

"What you experienced has clouded your brain, which has limited capacity, Galeno; two orcs from the rabble have played you badly!"

The man, whose hair falling to his shoulders covered his cheeks, was polite but audacious; due to a technique he added to his voice, all his words echoed within the Black Lily Units.

"Now listen well to what I'm about to say: the types you are chasing have razed all the outposts and support headquarters in your region to the ground. According to incoming reports, at the head of the units were a grey-haired hulking male and a scrawny female orc capable of using blood techniques!"

Galeno was practically experiencing déjà vu; this was the second time after what happened to Gregoria turned out as he guessed. While a voice inside him constantly told him these were a game, unfortunately, the weak whispers melted away amidst the screams of his rage.

"All the warriors and druids they stole from the Mercenaries have already set out toward the Orc Steppes; so you see, you are seeking your revenge in very wrong places, Galeno!"

"As for the unfortunate event that was almost going to happen today, considering the pains you suffered, I will ignore it for this once!"

The man addressed as the Sacred Twin of the Golden Crown did not hesitate to speak with all his arrogance under the fancy mask of a polite attitude. In fact, in these moments when the Chief Commander of the Black Lilies fell apart, he had even sent a bright beam of light toward the young woman by waving his hand toward the niece behind him.

"Your niece will eventually recover, but if you attempt to repeat the mistake you made today once more, you will have to face my brother. What happens after that moment will undoubtedly mean the end of everything for you!"

Completing his words, the man rose into the air to leave as he came; he had put the huge army in its place all by himself, and there was an expression of contempt for the Black Lily Warriors in his eyes.

"Answer me, where are those two orcs now?"

While the entire army waited for the order their commander would give, it would be Gregoria who spoke; evidently, what the arrogant man just did was a healing spell.

"Unlike you, those two orcs are not stupid enough to try to enter these lands, and according to my guesses, they haven't returned to the Orc Steppes either. I wonder where they are right now? Who knows?"
