Chapter 44 - Chapter 44 Wishing Crystal

After the Green Lantern incident, New Krypton enjoyed a period of peace, with everything progressing steadily as planned.

Meanwhile, on Earth, Wonder Woman Diana's mood was somewhat melancholic.

A few days prior, the museum where she worked received a batch of donated artifacts, and her colleague Barbara discovered an unidentifiable crystal among them, seeking Diana's help.

Diana, however, found that on the base of that crystal, written in ancient Latin, was the phrase: "Hold this, and all your wishes can come true!"

Several colleagues in the museum heard this at the time, and so, with a joking attitude, they all held the crystal and casually made their wishes.

Originally, given Diana's identity and knowledge, she wouldn't have believed in such a thing.

However, the subsequent series of seemingly coincidental small events that happened to her museum colleagues gradually began to unsettle her.

That crystal, which looked like a craft item one could buy for a few dollars at a street stall, seemed to truly contain some strange power, capable of fulfilling the wishes of whoever held it.

This made her constantly think of her long-deceased lover, Steve Trevor, and whether she could also wish for him to return to her side.

Although reason told her that Steve was dead, the uncontrollable yearning prompted her to constantly fantasize.

She was momentarily lost, and finally, unable to endure the internal conflict, she decided to seek out Fiora to confide in her.

After all, among the people she knew now, Fiora seemed to be the only one with whom she shared a common language!

Finding an unnoticed spot, she soared into the sky and then flew at high speed towards the Arctic Base.

As the bloodline inherited from the God King awakened within her, she became increasingly proficient in the elemental powers of flight and lightning hidden in her blood.

But when she arrived at the Arctic Base, she found that the once bustling base now only had a solitary spaceship remaining.

Walking into the spaceship, Jor-El's projection appeared before her.

"Long time no see, Ms. Diana!"

Diana was not unfamiliar with Jor-El, and she immediately asked, "Mr. El, is Fiora on another resource collection mission? Why are the others also gone?"

Hearing her question, Jor-El did not hide anything: "Ms. Diana, if you are looking for Fiora, then I can only express my regret; they left for New Krypton half a month ago!"

"That's wonderful! Have you finally found a suitable new home?"

Diana's first reaction was still to be happy for Fiora, as she also knew Krypton's past.

However, she then became somewhat puzzled: "Mr. El, why didn't you leave with them?"

Jor-El smiled and said, "My son is still on Earth, and he will come to find this place in the future. I need to stay and answer his questions."

He did not state the true reason why he did not leave with Zod and the others.

"You are truly a great father. Do you know where New Krypton is, and can you contact Fiora? Will she ever return to Earth?"

Diana praised him, then continued to press for answers.

"New Krypton is near what Earthlings call Jupiter, and it is currently under construction. If you have urgent business, I can help you contact her. As for whether they will return, I do not know the answer to that question."

Hearing this reply, a trace of melancholy flashed across Diana's face.

Thinking that Fiora was now fully engaged in building her new home, she did not want to bother her too much, so she chuckled, "It's nothing urgent. I just missed her, so I won't trouble Mr. El!"

With that, Diana turned and left the spaceship, then flew away!

Watching her disappear, Jor-El still sent a message to Zod and the others; he had caught the emotions that flashed across her face just now!

Over these years, he had naturally gained a deeper understanding of Diana's identity, and he knew in his heart that for a demigod to show such emotions, something must have happened.

Back in the museum, more and more memories of her past experiences with Steve flashed through Diana's mind.

Finally, as if she had made some great decision, she walked to where the wishing crystal was kept.

Opening the box, Diana picked up the yellow crystal.

"If you truly have the power to grant wishes, then I wish that you can bring my beloved Steve back to my side."

She held the crystal and made her wish, but nothing happened around her.

Diana suddenly laughed: "What am I even doing? How could I believe such a thing exists? Rather than trusting a stone, I might as well pray to the gods."

With a sense of relief, she put the wishing crystal back.

However, she did not know that at the very moment she closed the lid, a strange light flickered within the dim crystal.

At this time, on Krypton, everyone except Zod was practicing psychic abilities under the guidance of Martian Manhunter.

They had all obtained this ability from the tree of life and had all undergone the baptism of the Mars altar.

By the time Leto discovered the message, a good half-day had passed, so he immediately informed Fiora of the news he received.

"General, I want to go see Diana. Something must have happened to her!"

Similarly, Diana was also one of Fiora's few good friends; their friendship was truly forged in battle.

Zod's mind stirred, and some memories seemed to surface. Combined with the current timeline, he couldn't help but think: "Perhaps some things will still happen, even if I, this butterfly, have flapped my wings."

So, he directly said, "Then let's go together. I am also a bit curious, what kind of trouble could a demigod like her encounter?"

At this moment, Martian Manhunter also walked over: "Mr. Zod, I also want to return to Earth. I haven't properly said goodbye to Ord yet."

"No problem."

Zod casually raised his hand, and a dimensional wall immediately transported them to Earth.

Then he seemed to remember something: "I overlooked some things. After we return from Earth, I will establish a spatial teleportation channel between the two planets, so you can all travel back and forth freely."

With Zod's current understanding of the Way of Space, establishing a stable teleportation channel was effortless.

After all, the suppression of various laws in this world was very weak, which led to many people, under certain accidents, mastering the primal power of certain laws, which are what is called superpowers.

They could use this to travel through space, and even through time, without restrictions, and do many miraculous things.

Perhaps it was precisely because of this that his cultivation was smooth sailing, not only feeling no suppression but even a sense of being favored by heaven and earth.

Even without other cultivation resources, in less than five years, he had directly transcended the Sea of Bitterness (which was not yet open), the Sea of Wheels, the Palace of Dao, and the Four Extremes, reaching the peak of Dragon Transformation, and was even just one step away from entering the Immortal Terrace.

He did not consider himself a cultivation genius, nor did he likely have any innate talent; he had reached this point entirely by relying on the almost meticulously detailed cultivation insights from the Sun True Scripture inheritance.

Zod did not know what the future held, nor did he know if he could achieve Dao-Emperorhood under the rules of this world; as for becoming an immortal, that was even more distant and unattainable.

But as long as he could continue cultivating, it was quite good, because in this world, he didn't have to worry about his lifespan at all.

Even at his current realm, as long as he wasn't killed by someone, he could probably live until the end of time.
