Chapter 40 - Chapter 40 — The Message That Ended Everything

Asher glared at Prim, who was laughing quietly to himself.

"Are you done," Asher asked coldly, "or do you want to laugh more?"

Prim took a slow breath, calming himself.

"I'm done."

He turned and walked toward the door.

Asher frowned.

"Where the hell are you going? Aren't you going to carry your sister?"

Prim stopped but didn't turn back.

"No," he said calmly. "You have that handled, right?"

Asher's glare deepened.

Prim rolled his eyes.

"She's drugged. You don't expect me to carry her, do you? We're twins. What if she suddenly starts kissing me? That would be crazy… and wrong."

He waved lazily.

"So carry her. And follow me.

Prim walked out.

Asher clicked his tongue but said nothing. He bent down, lifted Ava into his arms, and followed.

They entered the elevator.

Asher didn't ask about the armed men surrounding the building.

He didn't need to.

Power like this spoke without words.

When the elevator doors opened, the hall was lined with black-suited men. They moved aside instantly.

Outside, a long line of luxury limousines waited silently like shadows.

Asher placed Ava carefully inside one of them.

Then turned and walked away without a word.

Prim entered the limo.

With a simple wave of his hand, all his men returned to their vehicles.

The convoy moved.

Dozens of black cars disappearing into the night.

Inside the moving limo, Prim took out his phone.

Typed one short message.

Sent.

That single message sealed the fate of everyone left behind.

Inside the Velvet Crown Club

The moment Prim left—

The pressure vanished.

The armed men withdrew one by one.

Guests collapsed to the ground, some trembling, some gasping for breath.

A senior politician hurriedly called his office, reporting the armed takeover.

The response froze his soul.

"Sir… the operation was approved at the highest level. We cannot interfere."

The call ended.

The politician's hands shook.

Approved.

That meant power above power.

Atlas seized the moment and slipped away with Mia, his face pale.

Debbie remained frozen where she stood.

Her mind still trapped in fear.

She had not understood what she had touched.

Then—

A man passing by looked at Debbie's parents and smiled coldly.

"Very good… very, very good."

He walked away.

A chill ran down their spines.

Then phones rang.

All at once.

Across the hall.

Everyone froze.

No one dared answer.

Fear gripped them.

One by one — they ran.

Escaping.

As if the place had turned cursed.

The Storm Outside

That same night—

The media exploded,TV,Radio,Online,Magazines.

Everywhere.

The newsof corruption ,of secret and other spread like wildfire.

Nathan Tech Empire showed once again why it ruled the digital world.

Markets shook.

Companies trembled.

Meanwhile—

Emily's Law Empire moved like a storm.

Lawsuits.

Sanctions.

Financial destruction.

People fell overnight.

Careers ended.

Families collapsed.

The world remembered once more—

Never provoke the Carter family.

The Next Morning

Sunlight slipped through the curtains.

Ava opened her eyes.

Cold.

Sharp.

Clear.

She sat up slowly.

No confusion.

No weakness.

Only calm fury.

She got out of bed and walked into the bathroom.

When she came out—

She was neat.

Controlled.

She wore a white sports bra, black shorts, and sneakers.

Her hair tied into a messy bun.

Simple.

But dangerous.

The door opened.

Daisy walked in—

—and froze.

Because Ava's eyes were no longer soft.

They were cold like ice before a storm.

Daisy lowered her head.

"Ava… I'm sorry. I never knew Mia and Debbie had such a disgusting plan. I was drugged too… I felt sick, so I left. I'm sorry."

Her voice softened as she finally noticed Ava's outfit.

"Where are you going…?" Daisy asked quietly.

Ava didn't answer.

She walked past her.

Cold.

Silent.

Dangerous.

Ava walked into the kitchen.

Milo sat casually on the counter, eating a sandwich and sipping orange juice. Black joggers, white short-sleeve shirt, blue long sleeve hanging loose, sneakers half-worn — relaxed but alert.

He looked up when Ava entered like a storm.

Without asking, he handed her the sandwich.

She took it.

"You're going to beat her up, right?" Milo asked calmly, already knowing.

Ava's eyes darkened.

"Of course. That bitch has been testing my patience for too long. This time… I'll kill her."

"Why is killing always you twins solution?" Daniel's voice came from the door.

He walked in shirtless, wearing only grey joggers, grabbing a cold soda from the fridge.

"Prim already killed half of them last night. And now you too? Wouldn't death be too easy for them?"

Silence.

Ava inhaled slowly.

Then took out her phone.

Scrolled.

Saw the news.

And suddenly—

She laughed.

"This is the first time I'll appreciate Prim's actions… but that doesn't mean I'll let them go free."

Her eyes narrowed.

"Mia… Debbie… ."

She finished the sandwich and walked out.

"Wait for me," Milo said, jumping off the counter and running after her.

Daniel walked back into the game room, where Prim and Michael were playing snooker. Andrew stood by the table keeping score, with Amos beside him, while Vikey lounged on the couch sipping his drink with the others.

They were all shirtless except Michael. Rose lay comfortably on another couch, scrolling through her phone.

"Ava is going to fight," Daniel announced.

Everyone immediately turned to look at him

Except Prim.

Prim laughed softly.

"Well… it took her long enough," he said.

Andrew quickly grabbed his shirt. Vikey did the same. Without wasting another second, they rushed out to follow Ava.

"Wait for me!" Rose shouted, jumping up and running after them.

"Aren't you going to watch too? Don't you like drama?" Michael asked, leaning casually on the snooker table as he lined up a shot.

"Nah," Prim replied, shaking his head. "If I did, she'd probably punch me… or Daniel would scold me. Mia's just trying to get my attention after I dumped her. I don't even remember her."

Michael paused, then smirked. "Mia… that crazy girl. Right, you broke up with her, and she slept with Daniel to make you jealous, then Andrew, then Philip. I told you not to get close to her. She's wild—especially after what she did to the other girls before."

Daniel passed Michael a soda with a side glance and sat down. "Who rejects free sex?" he asked. Prim just nodded, unbothered.

Meanwhile, Ava revved up her pink sports car, the engine growling as she pulled out of the driveway. Milo followed closely behind in his sleek blue sports car, its tinted windows reflecting the afternoon sun.

Andrew was next in a deep green coupe, Vikey in a fiery red one, Rosa in a bright yellow, Daisy in an orange, and Amos in a striking purple.

The seven-car convoy cut through the streets like a storm. Pedestrians stopped in their tracks, craning their necks to look. Drivers on the opposite lane gawked, slowing down instinctively.

The cars weren't just expensive—they were customized masterpieces, gleaming under the city lights, with logos on the sides that screamed their family heritage.

No one dared overtake them, and even the boldest street racers stayed well behind, aware that this was not a group to mess with.

Street vendors froze mid-sell, car horns blared behind them, and the reflection of the sun on polished hoods made the convoy look almost surreal, like a scene out of a high-budget action movie. From the back alleys, delivery boys and cyclists and other sport car drivers stopped to gape.

Every stoplight became a brief showcase, with the cars' engines growling in unison, drawing whispers and gasps from the crowd.

The convoy of brightly colored sports cars sliced through the iron gates of the Debbie family estate. The moment the guards saw the glowing family emblems on the hoods, their faces drained of color.

Without hesitation, the heavy gates opened wide.

The engines roared into the marble driveway, tires screeching softly as the cars stopped in a perfect line before the mansion entrance.

Ava stepped out first.

Her expression was cold. Calm. Dangerous.

She didn't wait. She walked straight inside.

Inside the mansion

Debbie's parents were in the living room, voices tense and low.

"We should send her abroad immediately," Debbie's mother said nervously.

"No," her uncle cut in. "Give her to the Carters. Let them handle her. It's safer for the family."

Before anyone could respond—

BANG.

The doors burst open.

Ava walked in.

The room froze.

Debbie's parents felt their blood run cold as last night's chaos replayed in their minds—the armed men, the fear, Prim's terrifying warning.

"Where is her room?" Ava asked calmly.

No one spoke.

Debbie's younger sister, trembling, pointed upstairs.

Ava moved instantly.

"Wait—let's talk! You can't do this!" Debbie's father shouted.

"Sit."

Milo's voice cut through the room like a blade as he entered with Andrew, Vikey, Rose, Daisy, and Amos. His calm smile sent chills across their spines.

"Your daughter is only going to receive the beating she owes," Milo continued. "Unless you want your entire family to pay for what she did."

Debbie's mother swallowed. "We… we should discuss this peacefully—"

Rose laughed coldly.

"Discuss? Your daughter almost destroyed Ava. She tried to ruin her publicly, almost pushed her to death. And you want peaceful discussion? What industry is your family in again?"

Andrew smirked.

"No need to ask. Our families have already cut ties with yours. The only reason you're still standing… is because they're waiting for Ava's decision."

Then—

A scream tore from upstairs.

But Debbie's family barely reacted to the scream.

They were frozen by Andrew's words.

Finished.

They knew what that meant.

The Carters and their circle were not ordinary rich families. They were old money, blue blood, hidden elites—families whose real power was never seen publicly everyone were told no matter how much power money influence connection u have don't mess with them . The wealth and influence shown to the world was only the tip of an unimaginable empire and yet can find two countries with change enough to last lifetime.

If those families abandoned them…

They were finished.

Ruined.

Erased.

Debbie's father slowly lowered his head.

"She acted alone. The rest of the family had no part in this," he said weakly, choosing survival over his daughter.

Milo smiled.

"Good choice."

Footsteps echoed.

Ava walked down the stairs.

Dragging Debbie.

Debbie's body was bruised, bleeding, broken. Her hair was messy, her face swollen, her eyes full of terror.

"Mom! Dad! Save me! Please—!" Debbie screamed.

But her family turned their faces away.

Her world collapsed.

"No… no… don't abandon me…" she sobbed before crawling toward Ava.

"It wasn't me! It was Mia! She planned everything! My parents forced me to listen to her! They said our family would be destroyed if I didn't obey! Please—please forgive me!" Debbie cried, kneeling and shaking.

Milo crouched slightly, smiling coldly.

"Why should you be forgiven? You threatened the red‑haired girl too. Others were forced, yet they're gone. You followed orders like a fool. Now you face the result of your own scheme."

Debbie trembled violently.

Daisy spoke calmly, "Don't dirty your hands with her blood. Let the two friends—Debbie and Mia—destroy each other."

Ava smiled faintly.

"You're right."

She turned away.

"This isn't over."

Milo gave Debbie one last look of disgust before following Ava out.

Outside, engines roared again.

But this time, Ava drove alone.

Debbie had told her everything—Mia's hideouts, habits, secrets.

As Ava sped through the city, she called John.

"I want you to contact everyone who was in the club," Ava said calmly. "It's not time to make enemies. Prim's actions already forced them into chaos. Now… give them the carrot."

John chuckled softly. "You want me to offer mercy so they depend on you… while you gain everything."

"You're smart," Ava replied.

"I worked with your father. If I wasn't, I'd be dead long ago," John said. "Prim shook the entire business world. He bought land, projects, shares for cheap, and pushed Carter power even higher. Now it's your turn."

Ava's eyes sharpened.

"When making deals, add one condition. Each company gives us 25% shares."

She ended the call.

Her car slowed.

She had arrived.

Mia's hideout.

"Damn it, damn it, damn it! Why won't anything go my way? Send me abroad? Never! I'm not going anywhere fucking abroad!"She was Mia Atlas.

"Damn you, Dad! If you think you can turn your back on me and give my share to your damn stepson, did you forget what I'm capable of? If I die, everyone follows me. No one gets the last laugh but me!"Mia yelled as she scattered her room in a rage.

Taking a deep breath, she remembered yesterday.

Flashback

"Pack your things and leave!" Atlas yelled at Mia.

"In your dreams! I'm not going anywhere!" Mia yelled back—only for her father to slap her hard across the face.

"I'm tired of your shit, you crazy girl. The only reason you're not in a mental hospital is because I'm trying to be nice, and you're testing my limits!" Atlas bellowed.

Mia, listen to your father. He knows best. You went against the Carter family grandchildren, so you've hurt your father and uncle. You're smart, but why act dumb? Your dad is doing this for your sake. Give your brother the shares. When the Carters attack, all the properties will be safe—they won't touch your brother because he's innocent. Then, after everything, he'll give them back to you," her stepmom said.

"Do I look stupid to you?" Mia yelled.

"Yes, because you're acting stupid! This is the only way to save everything!" Atlas yelled.

"Oh, shut it, dear father. Running out of ideas to steal my shares and property? You came up with this? You're dumb if you think I'll fall for it. I took back Mother's properties and shares with my own two hands, and I'll be damned if I give them back. Did you forget what you said? 'Being too nice will kill you.' That's why I'm like this. And if Ava gives me hell, don't worry—you're all following me to the grave too." Mia laughed maniacally.

"You're crazy!" her stepmom yelled.

"You damn child! You should die—die, die! Because of you, innocent children died. You used them!" Atlas yelled as he hit her back with the whip,

making Mia fall to the ground without a sound.Mia burst out laughing.

"What's innocent? Who is innocent? First of all, I never used innocent people. I threatened those with secrets, those scared to let their dirt out. If I could threaten them, they weren't innocent. Red Eyes Girl? Please—how many students committed suicide because of her? As for the rest, they've killed and done disgusting things, just like you, Dad. Remember the fire accident?"

Atlas froze, stopping the flogging."And dear stepmom... has Dad seen the paper I gave you?" Mia said. Her stepmom froze.

That paper—a DNA test proving her son wasn't related to Atlas. How Mia found out, she didn't know.

"You... you wouldn't dare tell anyone about the fire accident," her father said, panicking. Nobody knew except him and Mia. How did she find out?Mia got up.

"Then don't talk to me about innocent!" she yelled. She snatched the whip from her father, flogged him across the back, then threw it straight at her stepmom's face."

No one is fucking innocent!"

End of Flashback

It was all that dumb Debbie's fault—and Asher, that idiot, who ruined her plan. "Damn it!" Mia yelled.

The door suddenly opened, and Ava entered. "Happy to see you suffering," Ava said softly.

Mia looked at her—bloodstained fist but not her own blood. "I see you had a visit with Debbie. And that bitch told you everything,"

Mia said with a smile.

"Yes, everything. Your research facility using people as lab rats, your money laundering at such a young age—using your father's business to run your crimes. The people you used weren't innocent in the slightest, but who gives a fuck? If I send it to the media and twist the news..." Ava smiled.Mia glared.

Damn bitch Debbie. I know who's dying next, she thought.

"So, what? You going to use Debbie against me?" Mia said, folding her arms.Ava laughed, walked toward her, and slapped her.

Mia glared, but Ava slapped her again—and again, and again, and again—until her cheeks were swollen and bleeding. Finally satisfied, Ava stopped."I gave Debbie the weapon to use against you. If she succeeded, that's on her."
