"King Jergensen" I blinked tearing my gaze away from Blake's, as we all turned to face the High Chancellor.
"Why don't we let these two go wander the palace and we will discuss some concerns that King Balor has about the engagement."
King Jergensen smiled, not at the High Chancellor but at Blake and me "that's a splendid idea." He gestured to Blake, who nodded and held out his arm to my. Flicking my eyes to High Chancellor, his smile faded for just a moment, and I could tell that he was telling me silently, don't mess this up.
I gave a barely perceptible nod before tucking my hand into the crook of Blake's arm and looked up at him smiling "where shall we begin?"
"Have you ever seen the sea?" My mouth widened as he started to lead me out a side door of the throne room to reveal a long understated hallway "our castle is built on the shoreline for easy trade access."
"Really? But what about attacks from the water?"
"There's a wall protecting us but the wall doesn't stop the water from following right up to the castle."
"To create a natural moat."
"Exactly." Blake said smiling down at me before gesturing to the guard trailing in front of us to open the door that we just arrived in front of "you ready?" He asked drawing my gaze from the guard opening the door.
I looked up at him and smiled, hesitantly "can I be?"
He shook his head, "no."
Then I felt a cold breeze and my eyes darted away from Blake to the open door. I couldn't see much but I could smell something slightly salty and it drew me forward to the most beautiful site I had ever seen in my life.
