Chapter 81: The World's Strongest Black Blade: Yoru
Shua! Shua! Shua...
Several rays of light descended from the sky in succession, shrouding everyone in the duel field before vanishing instantly. As Yuichi and the others disappeared, the duel field itself faded away.
Then, the view from the auditorium began to change.
For a moment, everyone's vision went pitch black. It didn't last long; a burst of light pierced the darkness, revealing Sunagakure before their eyes! The location of the duel field had transformed into the Hidden Sand Village.
The surroundings brightened, and the audience felt as if they were hovering in the sky above Sunagakure, overlooking the village below. However, the ninjas of Sunagakure couldn't see these spectators at all. The light curtain in the center of the arena no longer showed the auditorium, as if the audience had been transported to a mysterious, unknown dimension.
Although they could see the village and feel the wind blowing around them—carrying fine grains of sand—it wasn't entirely real.
This sudden shift surprised Sengoku, Garp, Whitebeard, and Kaido. They had never experienced such a miraculous sensation.
"Sunagakure!"
Countless Sand Shinobi poured out from the village, sweeping through the streets.
Within ten minutes, tens of thousands of ninjas were quickly organized into various teams: combat squads, support squads, liaison squads, and medical squads. The three troops were led by the three Kazekages respectively, securing all entrances to Sunagakure.
In the square at the center of the village, the One Tail, Shukaku, remained motionless, as if it had fallen asleep. A heavy guard of ninjas surrounded it; not even a fly could pass through their perimeter undetected.
Simultaneously, a massive light barrier manifested, covering Sunagakure and a ten-kilometer radius around it. Just like the barrier at Marineford previously, any attack striking this dome would fail to cause even the slightest ripple, and no one could pass through it directly.
The image on the light curtain shifted, broadcasting the situation of the ten invaders in the Ninja World.
They were not together. Their backgrounds were different; some were hiding behind rocks, others inside buildings. None of them had been teleported to a location where they would be immediately discovered.
Now, Sengoku understood. He realized why they hadn't detected any enemy invasion at the start of the Marineford battle. This type of teleportation seemed to open a spatial channel, depositing people directly into specific locations. Furthermore, a strange energy masked the area. As long as they didn't move, even sensory ninjas would be unable to detect their presence.
The teleported individuals opened their eyes to feel a different atmosphere—dry air filled with fine grit.
This was the desert. This was Sunagakure.
A village standing in a desolate environment that had nonetheless become one of the Five Great Nations of the Ninja World. Although their numbers were far fewer than other villages, the harsh conditions meant that those who became ninjas were elite. In terms of individual combat ability, Sunagakure ninjas were often the most outstanding among the Five Great Ninja Villages.
Time passed, minute by minute.
The invaders teleported into the Ninja World had yet to step out of their initial areas. This behavior left the spectators in the Ninja World speechless.
"Don't these guys look very strong? Why haven't they started to act yet? Is it because they are afraid of Sunagakure's power?"
"Probably! After all, there are only ten of them, facing tens of thousands of Sand Shinobi and three Kazekages—one of whom can manipulate gold dust to stop meteorites."
"It's normal to be afraid! Once these guys show their heads, they will be eliminated! Haha! Ten people wanting to fight against the entire Hidden Sand Village? They must want to die!"
The people of the Ninja World seemed to have forgotten their previous worries. Emboldened by Sunagakure's terrifying lineup, their confidence surged.
However, they failed to realize that numbers meant little against the Seven Warlords of the Sea, two Marine Admiral-level combatants, and Smoker the White Hunter. None of them were easy targets.
In the auditorium of the Ninja World, Kurotsuchi of Iwagakure asked her grandfather, the Third Tsuchikage, Onoki. "Old man, why haven't these guys started to act yet? Are they really scared?"
"Scared?" Onoki smiled. He didn't know if the others were scared, but Yuichi—the monster kid who defeated the Konoha Sannin and even the Third Hokage—showed no fear. Would such a person be intimidated?
Shaking his head, Onoki looked at the people from the Pirate World on the screen, who were secretly observing their surroundings.
"No! On the contrary, this proves that these guys are extremely powerful. Facing a strange world and strange enemies, observing and collecting information—at least understanding the terrain—is exactly what the truly strong do!" Onoki's expression became serious. "Just wait and see! This battle will be extraordinarily exciting!"
Kurotsuchi nodded, though she didn't fully understand. What is there to observe for so long?
These ninjas seemed to have forgotten the special power of the Pirate World: Observation Haki.
Many of the Shichibukai could use Haki. Even if they didn't specialize in it, they could use basic Observation Haki or their Devil Fruit abilities to perceive the surrounding environment as much as possible.
Three minutes passed.
Finally, on the light curtain, someone took action.
The first to move was the former World's Strongest Swordsman, Hawkeye Mihawk. Although the title now belonged to Yuichi, no one dared to underestimate Hawkeye's swordsmanship.
He stepped out of a small, mound-like house. Hawkeye pushed the door open.
Crunch...
The sound of the door opening was particularly loud in the silence of Sunagakure. All civilians had been evacuated by the system, leaving only ninjas who maintained absolute silence.
The abrupt noise drew countless eyes in an instant.
Hawkeye's location was well within the village. But when he opened the door and walked out...
Outside, countless ninjas on the streets, rooftops, and surrounding buildings stared at him with intense, serious eyes.
Hawkeye glanced at the army of ninjas, turned around, and politely closed the door.
This polite action made the mouths of the Pirate World spectators twitch uncontrollably.
What time is this? He is still so polite? The habit of closing the door is good, but under these circumstances, why is he in the mood for that?! Incomprehensible!
"Spread out!"
"Let's start!"
"Ninjas, my name is Dracule Mihawk!"
"Let me see just how strong a ninja is!"
Hawkeye raised his head. His sharp, hawk-like eyes burst with a piercing intensity, like a sword unsheathed.
The blade on his back, one of the 12 Supreme Grade Blades, known as the "World's Strongest Black Blade."
Black Blade Yoru!
Hawkeye slowly pulled it from his back.
