The morning after Elias Voss disappeared from the headlines, the city woke up to something it didn't recognize.

Not peace.

Not chaos.

Possibility.

Mira noticed it in the smallest places first.

The café across the street from her mother's shop had changed its chalkboard sign. Where it used to read TRY OUR NEW LATTE, it now said:

ASK QUESTIONS. WE HAVE COFFEE.

Someone had taped a printed article to the lamppost outside , a deep dive into the Legacy Projects, complete with citations, interviews, and a photograph of Moreno standing in front of Blackwell, looking tired but unbroken.

People stopped to read it.

They didn't just scroll past.

They stood there. They pointed. They argued. They laughed. They frowned.

The world wasn't fixed.

But it was paying attention.

Mira stood in the doorway of her mother's shop, arms crossed, watching a man and a woman debate something loudly near the newspaper stand.

"They're arguing about ethics over bread," her mother said behind her.
