Chapter 35: What's Going On?
"Miss Yoona… Mr. Tatsuya… but you… how?"
Haruto said this in shock.
Sora and Daichi couldn't hide their astonishment either. Kaito, on the other hand, was scanning the people in front of them with a serious gaze.
What's going on?
As they struggled with these thoughts, Yoona spoke up.
"I didn't think you'd figure it out this quickly. Really… well done."
Tatsuya clapped as if in support.
"Haha, I didn't expect the truth to come out this early either, but unfortunately…"
He smiled.
"…we have to kill you here."
Kaito spoke with a mocking grin.
"Hah! You're going to kill us? Who do you think you are to talk to us like that, huh?"
Sora swallowed hard, frowning.
"Who are you taking orders from? Is this the job behind Lady Akira?"
Yoona and Norita burst into laughter.
"Hahahahaha!"
Norita suddenly leaped and positioned herself behind Yoona and Tatsuya.
"Yes, I'll leave the rest to you kids. Have fun."
Yoona and Tatsuya replied in unison, grinning.
"As you command, Lady Akira."
Daichi clenched his teeth under the shock, taking a deep breath.
"So you were actually kuriries all along?"
"Yoona, Tatsuya, and Lady Akira…"
"Did you steal other people's appearances?"
"Hah, you must be joking."
Haruto was angry but tried to laugh.
"Come on…"
He turned to Kaito.
"Kaito, now."
Kaito nodded in agreement.
In an instant, he swung his sword. The area lit up, visibility dropped. As the kuriries squinted, they saw only Sora in front of them.
Sora swung the fans in her hands as if dancing.
"Are you ready for the show?"
BAM!
From behind, Haruto created an explosion with his kuiri cards, but the explosion had no effect. Yoona suddenly leaped into the air; her hair turned pale red, her eyes purple.
"Good move… but you'll need more than that."
Tatsuya, dodging to the right, also transformed. Pale gray hair, purple eyes, and a black aura appeared around his neck.
"You're pushing us too hard here—"
At that moment, Daichi dropped from the roof.
"IYAAAH!"
He landed on one knee, laughing.
"Hehehaha… Tatsuya, you say you're not him, but you're making his moves."
Tatsuya grinned, not showing his surprise.
"Then let me tell you my real name."
"I'm Yoshi, Mr. Daichi."
He lunged toward Daichi.
"You think you know every move, but—"
Daichi escaped the attack with a backward somersault.
Kaito leaped toward where Yoona was.
"SORA! COME ON, ENERGY WIND BARRIER!"
Sora responded with a laugh.
"Got it, wise captain!"
As Haruto watched the events breathlessly, he suddenly shouted:
"SO WHAT WAS YOUR GOAL?!"
Norita kicked Haruto from behind.
"UGH!"
Daichi, Kaito, and Sora all turned to him at once.
"HARUTO!" Kaito shouted.
As Yoona tried to breach Sora's wind barrier, the aura around her neck touched the barrier and thinned.
"Ugh… ah… you—!"
She crossed her arms, landed on the ground, and maneuvered toward the broken window.
"You little—!"
Norita was laughing near the door.
"Our goal was to take that kid."
"But it looks like it's going to be harder than expected."
Yoshi formed something like black mist with his hands and extended it toward Daichi.
"Attack."
Suddenly, black human-like figures emerged around Daichi and pounced on him. As Daichi struggled to move, Yoona sat on the wooden part of the broken window, crossing her legs.
"You human rats… you're making this way too difficult for us."
Sora unleashed a sharp energy attack from right to left.
Yoona responded with a laugh.
"It won't work."
Sora paused in shock. Kaito shouted:
"Telekinesis! Sora, she can do anything with her mind!"
Sora frowned.
"Yoona, you—"
Yoona interrupted her.
"Don't call me Yoona, it hurts my feelings."
She grinned.
"Call me Tina, darling."
Sora clenched her teeth.
"Damn you—"
Kaito swung his sword upward. As Sora waved her fans, Norita froze both of them with a wave of her hand. She laughed while pressing down on Haruto.
Haruto couldn't get up from the ground, leaning back as he sat.
"Why…?"
"Why Lady Akira, San, Ren, Yoona, and Tatsuya…"
"Where are they?"
Norita approached Haruto with a laugh.
Haruto tried to move but was frozen.
"Ah… no… w-what did you do to me?"
He looked around.
Daichi and Sora were frozen, breathing heavily. Kaito was resisting, but the expression on his face gave away the truth.
Norita grabbed Haruto by the collar.
"Look at me."
"Tell me where that kid is."
"That way, I can kill you with less pain."
Haruto, not knowing what to do, looked around breathlessly…
