Chapter 97 -  Defeat and Retreat

The sky was still pouring with relentless rain.

On the battlefield, the Pokémon on both sides stood as stiff as statues, none of them daring to move.

Sheltering beneath a large tree, Mu Xue barely avoided the rain as she scanned her surroundings with deep concern.

For her Pokémon to show such an instinctive stress reaction, the strength of the unseen presence was self-evident.

The two Champion-level trainers from the Creation Society were no less uneasy.

They had never felt pressure of this magnitude before—not even from their own Boss.

"Damn it… this is just an ordinary secret realm. How can something this terrifying exist here?"

For the first time, the Champion Pokémon on the field actually felt envy toward the previously recalled Gengar.

At least it didn't have to face this godlike pressure directly.

"Do we still make a move?"

The two exchanged glances, then followed their instincts.

Wait and observe.

For the moment, neither side moved.

The scene became eerily surreal.

Two hostile factions—normally locked in a fight to the death—stood frozen, silently facing each other.

Even their Pokémon barely dared to breathe, afraid that the mysterious presence might notice them.

At that moment, Mu Xue's Milotic sensed something strange.

Its beautiful eyes blinked slowly.

Then, cautiously, it glanced at its companions—and saw the same surprise reflected in their gazes.

My energy… it's recovering?

While the enemy Pokémon trembled under the overwhelming pressure, Mu Xue's main Pokémon realized something astonishing:

The rain falling onto their bodies was quietly replenishing their nearly depleted stamina and energy.

Even their injuries were showing faint signs of recovery.

It was as if the rain itself carried spiritual power—like the legendary spirit rain from cultivation myths.

The Pokémon exchanged silent looks.

Without a word, they focused fully on recovery.

Time passed.

The mysterious existence still did not reveal itself, yet the crushing pressure remained.

"What now? We can't just stand here forever."

The one-armed Champion from the Creation Society spoke grimly.

"Let's wait a bit longer. If nothing happens… even if the mission fails, we retreat first."

No one could tell what the hidden being intended.

Then Mu Xue received astonishing feedback from her Pokémon.

They had already recovered 70–80% of their stamina and energy.

And under the stormy weather, their combat power was rising even further.

"Could it be… that presence is on the League's side?"

Combined with all the earlier anomalies, Mu Xue couldn't help forming that conclusion.

But now wasn't the time to overthink.

This was her chance.

Suddenly, Mu Xue's six main Pokémon launched a simultaneous counterattack.

The two Creation Society Champions reacted instantly, commanding their Pokémon to intercept.

But the moment both sides collided—

The Creation Society Pokémon were sent flying, unable to withstand even a single exchange.

"How is that possible?!"

The two shouted in disbelief.

"How do your Pokémon still have this much stamina and power?!"

Mu Xue gave no explanation.

She had no idea how long this storm would last—so she would end it as fast as possible.

Within the rainstorm, her Pokémon recovered energy continuously, allowing them to attack without restraint.

The result was overwhelming.

Six Pokémon drove back ten Champion-level Pokémon, forcing the Creation Society into steady retreat.

"This won't work—we have to seize control of the weather!"

As true Champions, they immediately recognized the problem.

Weather dominance was decisive in high-level battles.

Whoever controlled it gained a massive advantage.

The enemy Pokémon unleashed Sunny Day, Sandstorm, Hail, and other weather-altering moves.

But as their energy dispersed into the atmosphere—

It vanished without a trace.

"No effect?! How is that possible?!"

Before their shock could fade, Mu Xue's assault intensified.

One enemy Pokémon after another was severely injured and knocked out.

This was Oliver's plan.

By pushing Milotic's Primordial Water trait to its limit, Mu Xue's Pokémon could operate at 120% efficiency.

With Celebi's psychic suppression layered on top, the balance of power had completely reversed.

Hidden in the shadows, Oliver watched Milotic with concern.

It had never sustained such an intense output before.

Could it handle it?

Milotic gently shook its head to reassure him.

But the ancient markings across its body suddenly flared brightly.

"Miloo…"

Milotic collapsed to the ground, exhausted.

The ancient patterns faded back beneath its scales.

Celebi stared, utterly stunned.

When those markings appeared, the aura it felt was eerily familiar—

For a moment, Celebi thought it was facing the embodiment of the sea itself: Kyogre.

Only after snapping back to reality did it realize—

It was Milotic.

A Milotic that now carried a trace of Kyogre's primordial essence.

Considering Celebi itself had once elevated Milotic's potential, the shock was immeasurable.

As Milotic collapsed, the storm clouds slowly dispersed.

The torrential rain weakened to a drizzle.

The terrifying pressure that had dominated heaven and earth vanished completely.

Seeing the rain finally stop, the two Creation Society Champions grimaced.

They now had only two Pokémon left capable of fighting.

Mu Xue's Pokémon were injured—but every single one could still battle.

"As expected of the League's Water Champion," one of them said coldly.

"But the Creation Society never abandons its targets. Next time we meet, we'll finish this."

Mu Xue instantly sensed danger and ordered an attack—

But the two men each produced a strange bead and crushed it.

In the next instant—

They vanished.

Gone without a trace.
