Chapter 111 - [111] The Diary's Shocking Return!

"Dumbledore didn't ask for a trade... it seems he has a backup plan..."

Argus walked toward the Slytherin common room, thinking about his conversation in the headmaster's office.

"I estimate that the Ministry of Magic will have to send someone over to take Harry and Ron away in the next day or two."

"I just don't know if Fudge has the guts to go head-to-head with Dumbledore."

"However, even if Harry and the others are captured, Dumbledore will probably do everything he can to get them out."

"After all, he was the one who designated Voldemort as the future hope."

"We will never let him fall into the hands of the Ministry of Magic."

As they were talking, Argus had already arrived at the Hogwarts Library.

There were originally classes in the afternoon, but this morning, all four deans focused their energy on dealing with this matter

The courses were temporarily postponed and would be made up later when there were no other classes available.

Just as he arrived at the library entrance, he ran into the Weasley twins.

When Percy saw Argus approaching, he hesitated for a moment, but still went to greet him.

"Argus, about what happened this morning..."

"Slytherin has mostly handled this matter internally. What about your side?"

Percy sighed deeply: "It's a pity that Gryffindor doesn't have a prefect system."

"There's a lot of internal turmoil in Gryffindor, and I'm trying to find a solution."

"We'll be taking classes together in the future, and if this isn't handled properly, it's bound to cause more trouble later."

"Really."

Argus nodded in agreement, but his thoughts were quite the opposite.

Wasn't Dumbledore trying to make Slytherin the enemy of the entire school, and then help Harry build his reputation in the fight against Slytherin?

If he could use this method, why couldn't he?

Gryffindors were far more capable of causing trouble than Slytherins!

It was easy to get them hooked with just a little teasing.

In contrast, Slytherins were at most arrogant, and those who liked to argue and fight were actually in the minority.

"Argus, do you have a better idea? Let's discuss it beforehand."

"We can't just let them start arguing in class, can we? If this continues, we won't be able to have class."

Percy turned to Argus for help.

"I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do about this."

Argus was more than happy for Gryffindor to cause trouble, so he wouldn't offer him any advice.

Percy had anticipated this, and although he was disappointed, he wasn't too surprised.

After exchanging a few words with Argus, he hurriedly headed toward the Gryffindor common room.

Argus was happy to have some peace and quiet, so he went into the library alone. As soon as he took out a book, he saw a familiar figure.

She was looking around at a table not far away.

The moment her eyes met Argus's, a hint of joy was clearly revealed in them.

She walked up quickly.

"Wait, Ginny!"

Argus raised his hand, stopping Ginny from getting any closer.

Ginny was completely confused by his actions.

Argus helplessly pointed to the Gryffindor members not far away.

They were staring intently at Argus, their eyes seeming to want to devour him alive.

"Now you know, right?"

"The relationship between Slytherin and Gryffindor is very sensitive right now, and it won't do you any good to get too close to me."

Ginny looked disappointed, took a black diary out of her backpack, and handed it to the table.

"This is the diary I found in my bag; it seems I took the wrong one."

"I asked around in Gryffindor, and no one there has lost anything. Could you please ask the Slytherin people to see if anyone there has lost anything?"

Seeing the strange look in Argus's eyes, Ginny thought he felt she had been peeking and quickly explained.

"Don't worry, I didn't open it, I just looked for the name."

"Unfortunately, nothing was written on it."

Of course, Argus knew that nothing was written on it.

The problem was, who the hell let her take it back?!

Argus felt like he was about to split open.

He had laid out this plan for so long, and it was only with great difficulty that he finally managed to send the diary over.

Ginny had actually returned it!

Wouldn't all his efforts have been wasted?

"I'm not worried that you've seen it. I've already asked the Slytherin members if anything is missing. If so, please let them know in advance so I can talk to Percy."

"But they checked several times and still couldn't find anything missing."

"This diary might have been lost by one of the injured Gryffindor members, right?"

"Oh right! I haven't asked the school clinic yet!" Ginny suddenly realized.

Ginny couldn't help but blame herself.

They didn't even bother to think before they started a conversation.

At least come up with a decent excuse!

What should I do? Argus saw right through me. Will he think I'm stupid...?

Argus was unaware of Ginny's overthinking and was only concerned with how to get Ginny to keep the diary.

He smiled at Ginny, but couldn't tell her directly to stay, so he gently comforted her.

"No need to worry, it's probably just that someone forgot. Let's go down and ask if anyone remembers."

"That's right! No matter who it is, they'll be anxious if they lose something, and they should return it to its owner."

Ginny felt that her behavior had already lowered her standing in Argus's eyes, and she was afraid that he would think of her as a meddlesome person.

She was determined to find the owner of the diary.

Argus saw this and was very anxious.

Voldemort, can't you give me some help?!

After all this time, he still couldn't handle a newly enrolled witch!

No wonder he was killed by a little kid like Harry!

Serves you right!

Argus was genuinely afraid that Ginny would give the diary away.

After all, no one could say for sure if there were people in Gryffindor who liked to take advantage of others and could easily swindle Ginny away with any excuse.

Initially, he intended to just throw the diary at anyone.

But he quickly realized that if Harry wasn't involved, given Dumbledore's temperament, he would most likely have taken matters into his own hands.

In this way, its effectiveness would be greatly reduced.

Only by involving Harry would Dumbledore feel that this cold serve as a test for Harry.

Only by doing it yourself could you have room to maneuver!

The only people who could get Harry involved and whose psychological defenses could be easily breached by Voldemort were a few.

After much thought, Ginny was the most suitable candidate.

On one hand, she was Ron's sister, and if something happened to her, Harry could not stand idly by.

On the other hand, based on the case in the original work, Argus could confirm that Ginny would be controlled by Voldemort for a short period of time and cause some big trouble.

After thinking about it, he decided to accompany Ginny to ask her himself.

To make sure the diary wasn't tricked into being given away by others.

"I recall that none of the injured Slytherin members asked about it either."

"If you don't mind, I can go with you to the school clinic to ask."

He put away the book he had just taken out, ignoring the murderous glares from the Gryffindors.

With Ginny looking on shyly, he accompanied her toward the school clinic.

He was trying to keep his distance from Ginny.

On second thought, it seemed like it wasn't so bad that Ginny was ostracized by the Gryffindor members

Perhaps this would make it easier for her to be controlled by Voldemort…
