Chapter 75 - [75] Dumbledore's Ordeal and the Second Deal!

Argus had intended to give Dumbledore a gift as well.

Unfortunately, not knowing the password to the headmaster's office, he could only leave the gift at the door for the time being, waiting for Dumbledore to see it so he could take it.

After doing all that, it was already evening.

A few people who had come to eat were sparsely seated in the Great Hall of Hogwarts.

Harry hesitated for a moment when he saw Argus walk in, but still greeted him.

After all, Argus was the first peer he made in the wizarding world, and even though his best friend didn't like him, Harry still wanted to try his best to make the two of them get along peacefully.

His personality was flawed; due to his family background, he harbored timidity and low self-esteem.

Dumbledore's original plan was to use some opportunities to stand out during his time at Hogwarts to gradually build his confidence.

Unfortunately, the appearance of Argus shattered all those dreams.

Without Hermione's advice and help, Ron's jealousy and inferiority complex were also fully exposed!

These two factors combined made Harry's timidity even more apparent!

Completely different from the original work!

"Argus, I... I saw in the newspaper that you were arrested and taken to the Ministry of Magic. Are you alright now?"

"Thank you for your concern, I'm fine."

Argus did not show much enthusiasm and responded politely.

"Hey! George, look, our hero is here!"

The Weasley twins were eating when they saw Argus coming over and greeted him with smiles.

"You've come at the right time. Mrs. Weasley gave me quite a few cookies; I'll bring you some later."

"Spare us!" George pleaded.

"We've eaten so many over the years, you should keep them!"

Upon hearing the voices of Argus and the Weasley twins, the few remaining students at Hogwarts gathered around.

They all chimed in with concern for Argus's situation.

Because of the small number of people, even if everyone sat at the Gryffindor table, there were still large empty spaces.

"Evil Slytherins! They must have used some underhanded means to escape from the Ministry of Magic!"

Ron was indignant and took a big bite of the chicken leg in his hand.

Harry frowned slightly and explained for Argus, "Didn't you see in the newspaper that Professor Dumbledore and the four heads of the house all came forward?"

"There is also a large group of ordinary wizards speaking up for Argus."

"Tch! These people are all fooled by his appearance!" Ron continued stubbornly.

His eyes were filled with jealousy as he looked at Argus.

...

After finishing his meal, Argus returned to his dormitory.

He took out the notes that Arthur Weasley had given him.

Although he didn't intend to spend too much time on this, there was no harm in learning a little about it.

Some of the ingenious ideas inside might give him some other inspiration.

Suddenly, a ball of flame ignited in mid-air.

Immediately afterwards, a large red bird appeared before him.

"Fawkes??"

"Did Professor Dumbledore send you here?"

Argus got out of bed, took out a few cookies, and offered them to Fawkes.

Fawkes held his head high, seemingly unconcerned.

He tossed down a note and disappeared from Argus's sight.

He picked up the note; it only had one sentence written on it.

Mr. Grindelwald, please come to the principal's office. The password is "Cockroach Clusters."

"What could they possibly want from me?"

"It couldn't be that they made me come all this way just to thank me for the Christmas presents, could it?"

As Argus spoke, his body didn't stop. After tidying himself up a bit, he prepared to walk towards the principal's office.

Halfway there, he suddenly remembered something, turned around and rummaged through his bag for some things before finally setting off.

He arrived at the principal's office.

Dumbledore was sitting comfortably in his chair, enjoying the combination of Cockroach Clusters and milk.

"Mr. Grindelwald, thank you for the wool socks and candy. I really like them."

"Would you like Cockroach Clusters as dessert?"

When asked the familiar question, Argus shook his head in refusal.

"Headmaster Dumbledore, I haven't finished reading my book yet. Please speak freely if you have something to say."

"Argus…may I call you that?"

"Sometimes pushing yourself too hard isn't a good thing," Dumbledore sighed.

A hint of reminiscence flashed in his eyes.

"Back then, I taught a student who was just as talented and hardworking as you, and was loved by all the professors and teachers."

"It's just a pity..."

"Please forgive an old man's nagging; as people get older, they always like to reminisce about the past."

Is this the start of giving me a warning?

Comparing Voldemort to me?

Argus sneered inwardly.

He had anticipated this scene.

He just didn't expect the other party to be so impatient.

Fortunately, Dumbledore seemed to be still hesitant. Having learned from Voldemort's example, he seemed to be more lenient with himself.

This is good, as it gives me more time to plan.

With a polite smile on his face, he pulled out the weapon he used to deal with Dumbledore.

"You are a lot like my father. He also liked to reminisce about old friends and past events."

"Unfortunately, the person he remembered never seemed to come to see him."

Dumbledore's smile froze.

His eyes were filled with sadness.

Several times he opened his mouth as if to say something, but the words stuck in his throat.

After a while, he spoke again.

But he chose to change the subject.

"Argus, there's something I need your help with."

"What's wrong? It's not Scrimgeour, is it?"

Dumbledore shook his head: "No one can undo the mistakes he made!"

I don't believe you for a second!

Not long after Dumbledore left, Fudge sent a message to Argus.

He told him Dumbledore's intentions in detail.

Argus immediately instructed Fudge to publish the entire story in the Daily Prophet the very next morning.

In this way, if Dumbledore were to try to do something else, he would be making an enemy of all British wizards!

How could a positive person like him do such a thing!

What are your thoughts on Professor Quirrell?

"Professor Quirrell is a very good teacher," Argus said, feigning ignorance.

"Is that so?" Dumbledore looked at him with a half-smile.

"If we're talking about Dark Arts alone, there are indeed very few people in the wizarding world who can compare to him."

"You've been in his office for so long, you should know very well."

"Some things, you can also sense."

Argus was not surprised that Dumbledore knew about his visit to Quirrell's office.

He hadn't intended to keep it a secret anyway, so he took this opportunity to be frank with Dumbledore.

"You mean, Voldemort?"

Dumbledore was slightly startled, then laughed and said, "It's rare to see a young wizard who dares to call him by his name."

"Since you can call him by name, you must have already met him."

Argus did not refute, but nodded silently.

"Eleven years ago, Professor Trelawney made a prediction."

"The one who will destroy the Dark Lord is near... born into a family that has defeated him three times, born at the end of the seventh month... The Dark Lord will mark him as his formidable rival, but he will possess powers that the Dark Lord does not have... And one of them must die at the hands of the other, because if one lives, the other cannot live... The one who possesses the power to destroy the Dark Lord was born at the end of July..."

"This person is Harry?"

"That's right! That's why I want to give him the necessary guidance at certain times." Dumbledore observed Argus's expression, trying to discern his thoughts.

However, Argus had been practicing in this area for a long time, and Dumbledore could not see any clues, so he could only continue.

"Mere guidance is not enough for him; he also needs the courage to confront Voldemort."

"His current remnant soul is the best training for him..."

"Professor Dumbledore, I have no intention of being a babysitter," Argus interrupted Dumbledore.

Dumbledore had anticipated this and spoke slowly.

"Argus, we made an agreement."

"The agreement only required me to guide Harry, not to send an eleven-year-old wizard to fight Voldemort."

Dumbledore sighed.

"In that case, Argus, how about we make another deal?"
