Chapter 65 - [65] Tonks Bursts In – Scrimgeour's Outrage!

With Vinda's help, the news spread rapidly.

Many of the elderly members of the church had extensive connections in Britain, and upon receiving the news, they immediately began contacting some of their old friends.

These people may not hold high positions of power, but they are at least industry elites.

Their joint questioning requires a serious response even from the British Ministry of Magic.

...

The Weasley family, who were far away in Romania, also heard about this.

Mrs. Weasley, a former Auror elite, was so angry she almost cursed him out.

"How could they do such a thing!"

"Argus is such a good boy, we must not let him suffer any injustice!"

"Then let's go see Charlie..."

"What are you looking at! Get back to England right now! I need to get a good look at what Scrimgeour is up to!"

Although Ginny, who was standing nearby, was not familiar with the composition of the Ministry of Magic, she kept nodding.

"That's right! We should ask them properly!"

...

British Ministry of Magic.

Inside the Auror's office.

Argus sat upright in his chair, his expression unchanged, just as he would at home.

Several Aurors watched him warily, fearing he might do something unpredictable.

A woman with pink hair and wearing a leather jacket burst through the door.

"Tonks, what are you doing in here!"

"I'm warning you, this person is extremely dangerous. The director said no one is allowed to get close!"

Tonks looked as if she had heard the biggest joke in the world.

"Dangerous? Tell me, how dangerous could an eleven-year-old who has just started school be?"

"What heinous crime did he commit that you treat him like this!"

Tonks completely ignored the warnings from her colleagues and went to Argus's side on her own.

She took out a few pieces of bread and put them on the table.

"Are you hungry? Go and eat something!"

Noticing the questioning look in Argus's eyes, Tonks smiled.

"Don't worry, these breads haven't been coated with any magic potions."

As she spoke, she picked up a piece of each and put it in her mouth.

Argus then remembered who the woman in front of him was.

Member of the Order of the Phoenix, disguised as Magus, Lupin's wife!

Her mother was a member of the Black family and gave birth to her after marrying a Muggle-born wizard.

According to seniority, Bella and Narcissa should be called Aunt!

In the original story, she was a rather rebellious witch with a strong sense of justice, who ultimately died alongside Lupin in the final battle.

He never expected to see her here.

However, considering the other party's rebellious nature and strong sense of justice, it is reasonable that she would be willing to help him.

"Eat quickly." Seeing that Argus didn't move, Tonks urged him again.

Just then, the door suddenly opened.

Scrimgeour walked in and flew into a rage when he saw the bread on the table.

"Who brought this for him! Who gave you permission to bring things in like this!"

"When did the Ministry of Magic decide that children can't bring bread to eat?!"

Tonks wasn't afraid at all and charged forward to confront Scrimgeour.

"Is he a child? He's a criminal!"

"What crime did he commit? Saving someone? Or did he fail to give our Auror Director a treat?"

"Nymphadora!"

What did you call me?

Tonks flared up the moment she heard the name.

The name "Nymphadora" sounds very similar to a less elegant term in English.

This makes her extremely sensitive about her name, and almost everyone she's met knows about it.

Scrimgeour's current pronouncement was rather tactless.

"Director, Director, calm down!"

Several Aurors winked at the people next to them, and a female Auror tactfully pulled Tonks outside the door.

One of them was whispering something in Scrimgeour's ear.

The exact words were hard to hear, but Argus vaguely caught a few phrases: "Minister...outside...it's a huge commotion..."

A confident smile appeared on his face.

You can ignore public opinion, but you must never disregard it.

Otherwise, if they suffer a backlash, the consequences will be far beyond what ordinary people can bear.

Scrimgeour showed his displeasure: "The matter has been settled. If we release him now, where will the Ministry of Magic's reputation be?"

"I have my own plans for this matter, it's none of your business!"

He pulled a chair from the side and placed it opposite Argus.

"I advise you to behave yourself and cooperate with me, or you'll be in big trouble!"

"Tell me, why did you go to Gringotts at noon today!"

"Go rescue them," Argus replied calmly.

From the moment he was brought into the Ministry of Magic, he knew that they hadn't found any evidence at all.

Otherwise, they would have been sent to court long ago.

Can we still eat and drink here?

"Still not behaving yourself! Do you really think I wouldn't dare to touch you?!"

Scrimgeour slammed his hand on the table, his already gloomy face becoming even more terrifying.

If it were an ordinary junior wizard, he would probably be really scared.

But Argus had already survived countless assassination attempts since childhood, so this kind of intimidation was nothing to him.

"If I'm not mistaken, the news that I was falsely accused and arrested by the Ministry of Magic should have already spread."

"If I walked out of the Ministry of Magic covered in injuries, what do you think the wizards outside would think?"

Argus's smile remained as gentle as ever, but Scrimgeour felt a chill run down his spine.

It was as if the boy in front of him could see right through him.

"You really think I can't handle you?!"

Scrimgeour's eyes were bloodshot: "Bring me the Veritaserum! I refuse to believe that the acolytes are completely clean and without any problems!"

"Director!"

The Aurors were horrified.

Veritaserum is only permitted to be used under certain specific circumstances.

In most cases, it will be strictly prohibited.

Even if used, its testimony cannot be taken as evidence.

Moreover, if the outside world were to find out that they were abusing Veritaserum, it would be a minor matter for ordinary wizards, but the pure-blood families of Britain would likely be in grave danger!

Few of them are clean!

The abuse of Veritaserum is tantamount to crossing their bottom line!

"Director, please think it over!"

"Yes, Director, if the wizards outside knew we used Veritaserum on an eleven-year-old child, they'd tear the Ministry of Magic apart!"

"Shut up, all of you! Whatever happens, I'll take full responsibility. It has nothing to do with you!"

Scrimgeour was panting heavily, clearly already intoxicated.

He was a person who hated evil as much as he wanted, and he was also extremely stubborn.

His natural prejudice against acolytes made him determined to eradicate them completely.

...

Another layer of the Ministry of Magic.

Fudge's office.

A large number of well-known wizards suddenly flooded into the floor that was originally quiet with very few people.

The Ministry of Magic staff tried to stop them, but they were simply not enough manpower, and any one of these people could be considered a minor celebrity.

They're just doing their jobs for a paycheck; there's no need to offend people so badly.

Bang!

The door to the British Minister for Magic's office was pushed open with a thud, and Fudge frowned as he looked up.

But the next sentence completely stunned Fudge.

"Minister Fudge, I think you need to give all British wizards an explanation."

"When did the British Ministry of Magic become a puppet department that only obeys the orders of Gringotts goblins?!"
