Boom
The wizards, who were in a hurry to shop, were stunned by the sudden explosion.
For a moment, everyone was at a loss.
Even the Aurors around them were stunned.
Since Voldemort's death, the British wizarding world had not experienced such a heinous incident for an unknown period of time.
Besides, this was Diagon Alley!
The explosion occurred at Gringotts, which had the most stringent defenses!
"All members of the Acolytes, prepare for battle!"
"Stand guard!"
Having anticipated this, Argus feigned a brief moment of shock before immediately leading the group of Acolytes into a state of alert.
After leaving some members to maintain order, a large number of Acolytes followed Argus and surrounded Gringotts.
Unbeknownst to anyone, Vinda and a small group of Acolytes had quietly infiltrated the crowd.
Argus wasn't worried about Vinda's actions.
His only request to Vinda was to cause trouble, to make as much noise as possible, and to further damage Gringotts' reputation.
They had been attacked twice in a row, resulting in the loss of one Galleon.
It just didn't seem right no matter how you looked at it.
"What are you all trying to do by crowding around here?"
"A robbery?!"
Before Argus even entered the door, several goblins rushed out from the entrance.
He angrily blocked the group of Acolytes at the door.
"Excuse me, Mr. Goblin, we just heard about the explosion at Gringotts and came to see if we could help you."
When outsiders were present, Argus always displayed a level of politeness and refinement that was difficult for ordinary people to match.
"No need! Gringotts does not allow anyone to enter. Please leave!"
"Yes, sir."
Argus turned and left without any hesitation.
He had achieved his goal; Vinda had been successfully rescued without arousing any suspicion.
Continuing to pursue the matter would only make him seem ill-intentioned.
But this retreat was not so simple in the eyes of other wizards!
Argus's polite and gentle image had long been deeply ingrained in people's minds, compared to the arrogant pure-blood shops and Gringotts, which were obsessed with making money.
Acolytes, which frequently held big promotions, were clearly more popular!
Large numbers of wizards rallied to Argus's defense!
"A bunch of short, stupid idiots who don't appreciate kindness! Mr. Grindelwald came to help despite his own business, and instead of thanking him, you kicked him out! Bah! What a bunch of trash!"
"Who knows what happened inside? Maybe these goblins are just crying wolf!"
"I guessed it! These goblins are always eyeing the Galleons in our pockets. Last time when something happened, they said nothing was missing, but this time they're not letting anyone in. It's obvious something's up!"
"Nonsense! You're talking nonsense!"
Several goblins became extremely agitated and even rushed out of Gringotts to attack the wizards who were speaking!
"Bombarda!"
Argus swung his wand, unleashing an explosive spell that blasted into the entrance of Gringotts.
The loud roar made the goblins stop in their tracks instantly.
"Goblin, are you planning a third rebellion?"
One sentence was enough to terrify the leading goblin, causing him to break out in a cold sweat!
This caused all the wizards nearby to instantly grab their wands and stare warily at Gringotts.
Goblins had rebelled twice in the wizarding world, in the 16th and 18th centuries respectively.
The two wars caused devastating damage to the wizarding world, and the goblins completely lost their means of survival, barely surviving by clinging to Gringotts.
But the battle between the two had never stopped, and even today, many goblins were still trying to overthrow the wizards' rule.
Suddenly, several flashes of light went off around them, and a number of reporters raised their cameras and started snapping pictures of Gringotts and Argus.
They just wanted to buy some things; they never expected to encounter such a big problem!
Whether it was the attack on Gringotts or the battle that almost broke out, they were both big news stories that would make the front page!
"I...I, respected wizard, I was just too excited."
"Don't worry, we'll leave right away, right away!"
A group of goblins were nearly scared to death by Argus's words.
Seeing the murderous gazes of the group of wizards, he didn't dare to say a word and hurriedly returned to Gringotts.
"Alright, thank you all for your help." Argus bowed slightly, earning the favor of many wizards.
"Mr. Grindelwald, you're too kind. It's what we should do."
"That's right, I've disliked these goblins for a long time!"
"I really don't know what Gringotts is up to. In a couple of days, I'm going to withdraw all the Galleons I've saved. I don't trust them at all."
Everyone chimed in with their own opinions; their attitude towards Gringotts was extremely negative.
The Aurors, who were late, finally arrived.
The team was led by Scrimgeour.
They saw Argus blocking the entrance to Gringotts.
He immediately pulled out his wand!
"Mr. Grindelwald, I think you need to explain why you are here."
Scrimgeour had never been fond of the Acolytes, and despite Fudge's repeated warnings, he still frequently sent people to investigate the Acolytes' movements.
To his surprise, before Argus could make any move, the wizards around him took action first.
As if facing a formidable enemy, dozens of wizards surrounded the Aurors!
Whether it was Argus disregarding the shop's business to lead the Acolytes to the rescue, or risking a falling out with Gringotts to unleash a spell to protect the wizards, they had all witnessed it.
Unconsciously, the scales in her heart gradually tipped in favor of the boy in front of her.
Now, the Aurors from the Ministry of Magic were going to attack Argus without even asking what happened. How could they tolerate this?
What are you going to do?!
"I'm telling you, I represent the British Ministry of Magic!"
"Put down the wand right now!"
Scrimgeour hadn't expected his simple action to elicit such a strong reaction, and for a moment he dared not make a move.
He could only roar at the wizards around him to stop.
He shouted for a long time, but no one paid any attention to him. Some of the hot-tempered ones even had their wands glowing red.
A group of Aurors looked around warily.
"Stop! I am Director Auror, and I order you to stop!"
"Do you even know how serious a crime it is to attack an Auror!"
"Stop right there!"
Scrimgeour kept talking, trying every possible way to get everyone to stop.
However, nobody paid any attention to him!
No matter how much Scrimgeour shouted or what threats he made, they simply wouldn't listen!
No one could help; no one was willing to put down their wand!
Argus gently raised his right hand.
Stop!
Upon hearing Argus speak, many people slowly lowered their wands.
"Put it down."
"Don't hold the wand!"
"I'll listen to Mr. Grindelwald."
"That's right, we'll listen to Mr. Grindelwald!"
The crowd slowly dispersed, but one of them, still feeling unsatisfied, angrily spat in the direction of Scrimgeour.
Scrimgeour was stunned.
He had shouted for so long without any effect, and they stopped as soon as he said one sentence?
How come your words carry more weight than mine, Director Auror, when you're just a shop owner?
