Chapter 61 - [61] Betrayal Under the Moonlit Glade!

Pure white and flawless, with not a trace of dirt on its entire body.

Bathed in moonlight, it shimmered with tiny points of light.

It's a unicorn!

This was the first time Argus had ever seen such a pure creature.

He couldn't help but admire it from the bottom of his heart.

"That's our target!"

"Your task is to kill this beast and extract its blood!"

Voldemort's tone was urgent, completely ignoring Quirrell's struggles.

"Teacher, killing a unicorn is cursed."

Argus remained calm, showing no sign of making a move.

He's just here to go through the motions; he wouldn't be foolish enough to get himself involved.

The so-called Voldemort teachings were merely a means for him to improve himself.

Even without Voldemort, he still has the system, Vinda, and his cheap father!

To be tainted with an indelible curse by the mere guidance of Voldemort is tantamount to drinking poison to quench thirst.

"Argus, this is the second time!"

Voldemort's eyes were bloodshot as he stared intently into Argus's eyes.

"If you delay any longer, the unicorn will escape."

"Kill it, and I'll help you remove the curse!"

Argus looked at Voldemort's head and then at his pale face.

The meaning is obvious.

Do you think I'm stupid?

If you had that ability, would you need to suck this thing's blood?

It's okay to brag, but don't brag so much that you start to believe it yourself!

The rustling sounds around them grew louder and louder, and even Voldemort, in his weakened state, noticed that something seemed to be happening around him.

"You don't need to lift a finger. Your job is to keep watch and make sure it doesn't get away!"

When Voldemort realized he couldn't control Argus, he became desperate and disregarded everything else.

He gave him a cold glare, then pulled out his wand, ready to do it himself!

Hiss!

Just then, several streams of white, viscous liquid sprayed out from not far away!

Every single one of them was aimed at Voldemort and Argus!

Immediately afterwards, countless dark figures surged in.

The small ones are about the size of a hunting dog, while the large ones are as big as a carriage!

"It's an Acromantula! That damned bastard giant actually dared to release an Acromantula into the Forbidden Forest!"

Voldemort was both shocked and furious.

He commanded the Basilisk to kill Myrtle, and then framed Hagrid and his eight-eyed spider for it.

He never expected that a crime he committed decades ago would bring him such a big surprise today!

If he were in his prime, he certainly wouldn't be afraid of these things.

But now, he has to catch his breath after casting just a few spells, and finding a unicorn is already a stroke of luck.

Who knows when we'll find it again!

The unicorn on the lakeside noticed the commotion and, without a word, took off running.

"Avada Kedavra!"

Voldemort cast the Killing Curse with a swift incantation.

Unfortunately, there were too many giant Acromantulas nearby, and the unicorn dodged to the side before it could even strike.

"Bombarda!"

"Reducto!"

Argus unleashed several spells, instantly shattering the approaching Acromantula into dust.

The powerful force kicked up a large amount of fallen leaves and dust.

"Let's go, teacher."

"If we stay any longer, the number of spiders will only increase."

"Hold on a little longer! I'm going to kill that beast!"

Voldemort was clearly unwilling to give up easily.

Gritting his teeth, he chased after the unicorn again.

"Understood, teacher!"

Argus nodded respectfully, agreeing verbally.

He turned around and threw several wide-range spells at the weakest point in the encirclement.

Run for your life!

Having lost sight of Argus, all the Acromantulas lunged towards Voldemort.

Before long, they surrounded him.

"Argus, you... are very good!"

Voldemort, having been betrayed, was so angry he almost ground his back teeth to powder.

Ignoring his own weakened body and Quirrell's wails.

He quickly unleashed one spell after another.

Fortunately, the Killing Curse hit the ground, kicking up a lot of pebbles.

It scratched some of the unicorn's skin.

There was some blood on it.

He sped towards the spot where the unicorn had just been, waving his wand, and a few drops of silvery-white blood slowly rose to the surface.

Amid Quirrell's terrified screams, it was placed in his mouth.

The next second, Voldemort, who had been weakened, seemed to have a sudden burst of energy before his death.

His entire demeanor was completely different from before!

With a casual wave of his hand, he cast a spell, and dozens of Acromantulas rapidly expanded like balloons.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Dozens of explosions rang out, and the once noisy Forbidden Forest fell silent in the blink of an eye.

The entire forest was covered in disgusting green slime.

Voldemort stared in the direction Argus had gone and let out a sinister laugh.

"Argus…"

"My good disciple...you are truly outstanding..."

...

Argus felt no remorse whatsoever for betraying his teammates.

You get what you pay for.

You want me to work overtime for you without pay? Are you kidding me!

I'm already being kind enough to go with you; do you really expect me to risk my life for you?

After passing through the secret passage marked on the Marauder's Map, Argus sneaked back to his dormitory.

After a good night's sleep, he arrived at the Hogwarts Great Hall early the next morning.

Just as they were happily having breakfast, Quirrell walked in through the front door.

His face was still pale, but his spirits had improved considerably, and his steps were no longer as unsteady as they had been the previous two days.

Upon seeing Argus, a smile appeared on his face.

But there was a hint of resentment in that smile.

Good morning, Professor Quirrell!

Argus took the initiative to greet him, which surprised Quirrell.

"Good morning, Mr. Grindelwald."

"It seems you had a good rest last night, Professor. You look much better than you have been recently."

Under normal circumstances, Voldemort would not show himself.

He would only intervene when teaching Argus or when there were other important matters to attend to.

They were just having a meal in the lobby, and there were several professors present. Argus was certain that Voldemort wouldn't dare show his face.

He wanted to get a sense of Voldemort's condition from Quirrell.

Compared to Voldemort, Quirrell is much easier to fool.

After just two sentences of conversation, Argus sensed that the other party had become much more confident.

Clearly, many unforeseen events occurred after he left last night.

Argus was certain that Quirrell wouldn't dare to turn against him in public.

The conversation grew increasingly superficial.

"Idiot, get out of here! Can't you see he's trying to trick you into talking?"

Voldemort's angry voice echoed in Quirrell's mind.

Quirrell then realized what was happening and hurriedly left.

Argus smiled slightly.

It seems Voldemort's condition is far from as good as he imagined.

It probably won't be long before he has to go to the Forbidden Forest again.

This time, don't blame me for selling him for a good price...

...

Time flies, and more than a month has passed.

Christmas is just a few days away.

In the West, Christmas is just as important as the New Year in the East.

Because the holidays were just around the corner, Hogwarts was filled with a joyful atmosphere.

What remained unchanged was that Harry and Ron still hadn't found a single piece of information about Nicolas Flamel.

Or rather, without Hermione's reminder, the two of them would have long forgotten about Nicolas Flamel.

Quirrell and Voldemort also had a tough time.

The unicorn blood they obtained in the Forbidden Forest last time was not enough to sustain them for long.

Argus, the only one who could help him, had not been in contact with him since that morning.

He hasn't even come to Saturday classes anymore.

Voldemort could vaguely sense that the other party was constantly watching his movements!

Although he didn't know what Argus's purpose was, he knew it definitely wasn't anything good!

Inside the dormitory, Argus was packing his things, planning to go back home for the holidays.

He said he was packing, but he was really just bringing a few books that he hadn't finished reading yet.

During this period, he didn't accumulate many achievement points, but relying on his talent, he still made great progress.

Relying on his talent, he successfully advanced the Disarming Charm to level seven, and his other spells also made some progress.

Go back and upgrade your gear, ready for the final battle of the year!

They took the Hogwarts Express all the way to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.

An elegant woman in a green robe was watching him quietly from a distance.

A genuine smile spread across Argus's face.

"Vinda, it's been a long time!"
