Halloween had arrived in the blink of an eye.
The Hogwarts version of the fat catfish and lobster duo always thought they hadn't been discovered by Argus yet.
He was secretly delighted.
Little did they know, their every move was being watched by Argus.
Meanwhile, Argus noticed that several senior students had already gathered together, trying to win over classmates for a surprise aimed at Snape on Halloween.
Argus felt that, given Snape's temperament, he would definitely be surprised, but whether he would be happy... was another matter.
Other houses followed suit, with large groups of people marching toward their respective heads' offices.
Noticing Hermione's sullen expression in the crowd, Argus breathed a sigh of relief and began preparing for his next move.
Percy!
That's right, the person he planned to follow tonight was Percy!
The Prefect of Gryffindor, a renowned academic genius at Hogwarts, and a descendant of the Weasleys.
With all three combined, his strength should not be underestimated.
Although he didn't fight much in the original story, his victory over Voldemort's chosen puppet minister in the final battle was enough to prove his strength.
If it weren't for Hermione, he would very likely be the future Minister of Magic for England.
He had even considered how to lure the other party into a trap.
Now that Harry and Ron were around, they'd definitely follow me if they saw me sneaking away.
It was only natural that Percy would chase after them to protect them.
As for escaping, Argus wasn't worried, having the Marauder's Map in hand.
The script was written, everything was ready, and all that was left was for the actors to take the stage.
...
Night fell quickly.
Hogwarts was brightly lit, and pumpkin lanterns hung throughout the corridors and staircases.
To enhance the Halloween atmosphere, even the ceiling in the Great Hall had been enchanted to create an eerie night sky.
The professors from each house sat in their chairs, their smiles impossible to contain.
Only Snape's face was as black as charcoal.
The students in each house reacted similarly; the Slytherin students were dejected, while those in the other houses bounced around like excited stuffed toys.
Argus shook his head at the sight.
"Tch, I thought you'd have some kind of weird outfit, Argus."
"So it's Death!"
Draco ate while making disdainful remarks.
Argus smiled but did not reply.
Black is the best camouflage color.
He dressed as the Grim Reaper in a black robe simply for ease of movement and concealment.
Argus glanced around the hall, making sure Hermione, Pansy, and the others were there, then quietly tightened his grip on his wand.
Bang!
The Great Hall doors were suddenly pushed open.
Quirrell stumbled in.
"Troll!"
"In the underground classroom!"
"There's a giant in the underground classroom!"
Upon hearing this, the once lively and noisy hall fell into a deathly silence.
"Do you know?"
After saying that, Quirrell collapsed to the ground.
The entire hall erupted in screams!
Countless people looked terrified and fled toward the doors in a panic.
Argus did not choose to speak at this moment.
While appeasing students would bring him a lot of prestige, it would also make him the center of attention.
This was extremely detrimental to subsequent actions.
Dumbledore slowly stood up.
"Quiet!"
"Please don't panic, everyone!"
"Now, the prefects are leading the students from each house back to their dormitories."
"Teachers, come with me to the underground classroom."
With Dumbledore's command, the students gradually quieted down.
They followed their Prefects out of the doors one by one.
Snape showed a hint of fear, then quietly left through the back door.
Argus also launched his operation at this time!
"Harry, look at that dark wizard!"
Ron's eyes lit up, and he grabbed Harry's robes, whispering in his ear.
Harry glanced around and noticed that Argus was quietly falling to the back of the group.
He couldn't help but have some doubts.
Did he really have some unspeakable secret?
He was gone!
"Quick! Let's catch up with him!"
Ron eagerly grabbed Harry and chased after Argus in the direction he had left.
Completely oblivious to the fact that Percy was taking attendance.
"Ron? Ron Weasley!"
Damn it!
Not far away, Percy watched helplessly as the two broke away from the group and couldn't help but shout out.
He wanted to tell the two to stop, but he was afraid they would be discovered and have points deducted.
With a determined look, he glanced at his girlfriend, the Ravenclaw Prefect Penelope, and the Weasley twins.
"George, Fred, you two and Penelope take the people from both houses back to the common room. I have something to do!"
Under the bewildered gazes of the three, he chased after Harry and Ron.
Harry and Ron followed, while Percy followed Harry and Ron.
A group of people made their way to the third floor.
Argus already knew about the secret passage here using the Marauder's Map, and taking advantage of Harry and Ron's blind spot, he slipped into the passage in a flash.
He then followed the secret passage to a secluded corner, and after the Slytherin members passed by, he quietly followed behind.
...
On the other side, the Harry duo, having lost sight of Argus, were as anxious as ants on a hot plate.
"What happened? How come he's gone?"
"I don't know! Never mind, he must be nearby, let's hurry and look for him!"
Ron wouldn't let that stop him.
He immediately plunged into the dark room on the third floor.
Harry had no choice but to follow.
Percy, who was following at a distance, was stunned when he saw this scene.
No, bros, are you two really that brave?
This is a restricted area!
Are you two complaining that Gryffindor has too many points and want to increase the difficulty?
He opened his mouth, wanting to call out to the two, but fearing that making too much noise would attract attention, he had no choice but to quicken his pace and catch up.
Harry and his companion followed the eerie passage until they reached the door at the end of the forbidden corridor.
"There's no way out..."
Harry and Ron looked at each other in bewilderment.
Without Hermione, the two of them couldn't even cast a lock-picking charm and could only stare blankly at the door.
Squeak!
Just then, the door suddenly opened.
Snape, with an injured foot, limped out from inside.
He was clearly taken aback when he saw Harry and his companion.
Harry and Ron were also dumbfounded, never expecting to run into Snape here.
"Good, very good!"
Snape was furious but laughed, noticing that Harry had seen the wound on his leg, and immediately covered it with his robe.
"Mr. Potter, Mr. Weasley, you had better have a plausible reason for being here."
"I…we…"
Harry stammered, and Ron didn't dare to say a word.
"Mr. Potter, if you want to show off your savior status by fighting trolls, you should go to the underground classroom!"
"Or are you so stupid that you can't even tell the difference between the third floor and the dungeons!"
Percy, who arrived late, saw Snape standing in front of the two of them.
He had even braced for the fallout.
But considering that Ron was his younger brother and that he was a Gryffindor Prefect, he still gritted his teeth and stepped forward.
"Professor Snape…"
"Harry and Ron are… are…"
He thought for a long time but couldn't come up with a reasonable excuse to explain their behavior.
If it were the head of another house, there might be a chance to mitigate the situation.
It had to be Snape!
Just as he was racking his brains for an explanation, he was completely unaware that a figure in the distance was staring at them with a gloomy expression…
