Cornelius Fudge was the Minister for Magic of the United Kingdom, who had taken office in 1990.
He was extremely enthusiastic about power.
Unfortunately, he had a retired emperor above him and was always suppressed by Dumbledore.
In addition, the factional divisions within the British Ministry of Magic caused him, as Minister of Magic, to encounter obstacles at every turn.
"It's an honor to meet you, Minister Fudge!"
Argus extended his hand to Fudge, inviting him into the ceremony.
Fudge held this newly arrived leader of the acolytes in high regard.
The manpower and influence the other side possessed far surpassed that of a few pure-blood families.
If he could gain their support, his power would be greatly enhanced.
At that time, he could completely reshuffle the Ministry of Magic and get rid of the title of puppet minister!
"I have already reprimanded Scrimgeour regarding the Auror matter. Rest assured, the British Ministry of Magic treats all wizards equally."
Fudge turned his head in surprise upon seeing the blond man beside Argus.
"Mr. Malfoy, you're here too!"
"Long time no see, Minister Fudge!"
Lucius quickly adjusted his mindset.
As the head of House Malfoy, he had a large number of pure-blood families backing him up, so he had no fear of Fudge.
His initial surprise at meeting them stemmed more from the fact that they would personally attend the opening ceremony.
The implications of this were enough to give one pause for thought.
"By the way, Mr. Grindelwald, let me introduce you."
"This is Amelia Bones, Director of the Legal Enforcement Division."
A gray-haired woman wearing a monocle nodded to Argus.
"This is Dolores Umbridge, the head of the Office for the Prevention of the Abuse of Magic."
A plump woman in a pink suit with a sweet smile next to Fudge smiled and bowed slightly, moving closer to Argus.
"Hello, Mr. Grindelwald!"
"Thank you very much for your support of the British Ministry of Magic!"
Idiot!
As soon as she opened her mouth, Argus frowned.
He never liked the pink toad in the original work. He thought that someone who could sit in the position of director must have some intelligence.
Unexpectedly, her first words revealed a silly air.
Your boss is still here, and he hasn't even thanked you yet, so why should you ask for thanks?
What are you?!
Sure enough, Fudge's face immediately darkened.
"Umbridge, this is none of your business to interrupt!"
Umbridge panicked, but didn't know where she had gone wrong.
"Your Excellency, I..."
"If you say another word, you're going back!"
Fudge turned to look at Argus and put on a real show of changing his expression.
"Mr. Grindelwald, your assistance is a godsend for the British Ministry of Magic."
"On behalf of the British Ministry of Magic, I would like to express my gratitude to you."
"Since I have chosen Britain, I should contribute my own strength to the British magical community. This is what I should do."
Argus's answer was utterly hypocritical.
If they could, who would willingly give away their own money to others for free?
He turned to Fudge and introduced the person next to him.
"Mr. Malfoy, you know him."
"This is Ms. Vinda Rosier, I don't know if you've heard of her."
"Vinda Rosier!"
Fudge's gaze towards Vinda immediately changed!
Previously, he had only thought that Vinda had an extraordinary demeanor and guessed that she came from some ancient and powerful family.
Little did he know, it was the legendary French Black Rose!
Grindelwald's number one follower! The acolyte's number two!
"I'm so sorry, Ms. Rosier, please forgive me for not recognizing you at first glance."
Vinda nodded, but didn't respond.
Seeing that the atmosphere was a bit awkward, Lucius spoke up to break the deadlock.
"The ceremony is about to begin, Minister Fudge, please come in."
Fudge smiled and agreed, but just as he was about to head to the ceremony with Argus, he stopped in his tracks.
An embarrassing scene unfolded.
Logically speaking, Fudge, as Minister of Magic and the most distinguished guest at the ceremony, should have walked alongside Argus at the very front.
But don't forget who's behind Argus!
Vinda Rosier!
At their peak, the acolytes were nothing more than tools in the hands of the Minister of Magic, let alone the International Confederation of Wizards.
Fudge was not a bold person to begin with, and he was particularly concerned with the hierarchy of people.
He was so anxious that he scratched his head in frustration.
Argus noticed Fudge's predicament and gave Vinda a look.
Vinda nodded and retreated from the other side.
"Minister Fudge, the British wizarding community is so stable today thanks to you."
"If you don't go first, I'm afraid no one will dare to take a step."
Lucius chimed in, "That's right, Minister Fudge, please!"
"We and Mr. Grindelwald will need your continued support in our future business dealings."
Upon hearing this, Fudge grinned.
His gaze toward Argus grew increasingly satisfied: "Of course. If you encounter any trouble in the future, as long as it is within my duties, you two are welcome to come to me."
"Mr. Malfoy and I will certainly not stand during the ceremony. With you in charge of the British Ministry of Magic, the British magical community will surely flourish in the future."
We will fully support you!
Having received the answer he wanted, Fudge grinned from ear to ear.
He accompanied Argus all the way to the ceremony, as if afraid others wouldn't know about their relationship!
Just as Argus was about to walk onto the stage with Fudge, a familiar yet incredibly powerful magical fluctuation caught his attention.
He turned his head, and a snow-white figure flashed past.
"Excuse me, Minister Fudge, I have something to attend to and must leave you here for a moment."
Argus looked apologetic, but his eyes were fixed on the direction where the white figure had disappeared.
Fudge didn't seem to care: "It's alright, Mr. Grindelwald, you go ahead and do your work. Mr. Malfoy is fine with me."
Argus nodded and sped off after the figure he had just seen.
He walked into a secluded room, where two people were standing.
Vinda Rosier's expression was indifferent, her wand pointed directly at Dumbledore!
Dumbledore, on the other hand, remained remarkably calm; his immense power gave him unparalleled confidence.
"Vinda, please go out first, let me talk to him."
Vinda glanced at Argus, offered no rebuttal, and silently left the room.
As she left, she gave Dumbledore a fierce look.
Dumbledore readily found a seat and sat down.
"Mr. Grindelwald, if I remember correctly, you should be at school at this time."
"So, is the Headmaster here to take me back?"
Dumbledore laughed: "If I had some Sherbet Lemon, I might have forgotten about it."
"Don't forget our agreement. Today is the opening ceremony, and I don't want anything to go wrong."
Argus, not wanting to mince words, went straight to the point.
He took out a piece of parchment and placed it in front of Dumbledore.
"These are the shops I'm going to open. You're in charge of dealing with the pure-blooded families behind them."
Dumbledore hadn't paid much attention at first, but after looking at the parchment, he couldn't take his eyes off it.
He raised his head, and the look in his eyes as he gazed at Argus seemed to ask a question.
