Nyla skidded to a halt behind a thick bush, her chest heaving. She shifted back to human form, her naked body pressing against the rough bark as she crouched low.
Being naked didn't matter—not when she was about to finally get answers. About to understand why these two men were losing their minds over Wish.
Aurex lunged at Hyrin in his massive wolf form, jaws snapping toward his throat.
Hyrin's eyes widened. Wind surged around him in a defensive barrier, catching the wolf's momentum and deflecting him to the side. "Sunshine, what's wrong with you?!"
Aurex's growl rattled through the clearing like thunder. His golden eyes blazed with pure fury as he circled back, muscles coiling for another attack.
Wish's breath caught despite the agony radiating from her shattered leg. He'd come. Aurex had come because he felt her pain. He thought Hyrin had hurt her—and now he was going to fight him.
This is bad.
