Making money, becoming a drug lord, storming straight into the heart of enemy territory alone—hitting two different strongholds in a single day.
Qin Xiao felt that today he had been overwhelmingly imposing, incredibly handsome, and astonishingly efficient. It had been an absolutely perfect day.
That final, explosive scene was the perfect ending to it all.
And so, the cycle wasn't really complete yet—the circle had been bent into a vivid, living C shape.
Perhaps this was what people meant by trying to get B, but ending up with C instead.
Qin Xiao rubbed his swollen, aching eyes, wondering if something had gone wrong with them. Why did they hurt so much?
Before he even reached the front gate of the estate, he looked up and saw Black Widow smiling at him.
A black SUV was parked beside the gate, right next to the wall Qin Xiao had smashed into not long ago.
Judging from her smile, she had clearly witnessed everything just now.
"What the—why are you here? Where are the others? It's dangerous to be here alone."
Afraid she might bring up that embarrassing moment, Qin Xiao hurriedly changed the subject.
"Dangerous? Everyone here was so terrified by you they nearly grew wings and flew away. How could it be dangerous?"Black Widow flipped her hair and said teasingly.
"Then you must have missed me. Otherwise, why would you travel all this way just to find me?"Qin Xiao grinned and casually put an arm around her shoulder.
"I'm here to take you home. You've caused a huge mess. Get in the car—now!"
Black Widow pinched Qin Xiao's mouth until he puckered, then gave him a quick, dragonfly-like kiss.
"That's your reward just now. Compared to those superheroes who never look back at explosions, I prefer the one who actually gets hit by a rocket launcher. He feels real—and kind of cute."
With that, she turned and sat down in the driver's seat.
"I know you saw that. Then why did you still kiss me? I have to kiss you back, or I'll be at a disadvantage!"Qin Xiao shouted as he jumped into the car after her.
As soon as he got in, he pulled off the bandit mask he'd worn all day.
"I nearly suffocated. Now I finally understand why more and more robbers wear stockings instead!"
"Stop complaining about your mask. You took down two drug lords in a row and emptied their bank accounts. The Mexican government has already deployed regular troops—this entire city is practically under siege!"
"As for that," Qin Xiao pouted, "I only killed two drug dealers."
His confidence was sky-high lately; he clearly wasn't taking soldiers seriously.
Black Widow glanced at him while driving.
"Three. Three drug lords. Do you know how much money they funnel to high-ranking officials every year? Do you know how much it costs to rebuild even one cartel after its boss is eliminated? And that's not all. Add in the money you transferred from their accounts—on the black market, less than a hundred million dollars can buy a low-yield nuclear warhead."
Qin Xiao didn't bother calculating the earlier figures, but the words nuclear warhead caught his attention instantly.
"No way. They wouldn't deploy a nuke just for me, right? That's ridiculous!"
"Don't assume the Mexican government doesn't have people embedded with the cartels. Your combat capability is crystal clear to them now—and it's driving them insane."
"Alright, alright. I'll be more careful in the future. Still, this trip was worth the ticket price."
Qin Xiao adjusted his posture and relaxed into the seat. With Black Widow picking him up, there was obviously nothing to worry about.
S.H.I.E.L.D. truly was everywhere.
Black Widow led Qin Xiao on several detours before reaching a checkpoint. She casually showed a pass stamped with an unknown department's seal, then took him straight through.
Even so, they traveled west from northeastern Mexico, crossed into the United States through the Arizona border, and headed toward a small town in New Mexico.
After driving through the night, they finally returned home at an unhurried pace.
They didn't go to a restaurant, but instead entered a diner in town—where, surprisingly, Nick Fury and Coulson were already waiting.
A cup of coffee sat in front of Coulson. In front of Nick Fury was an extra breakfast, untouched.
Both of them looked pale, openly restraining the urge to punch Qin Xiao.
Qin Xiao pulled over a chair, sat down across from them, and slid the untouched breakfast toward Nick Fury.
"After sitting in a car all night, my butt is practically broken. Boss, you're really considerate—preparing breakfast just for me!"
He grinned and immediately started eating.
If not for his skin tone, everyone would have noticed how dark Nick Fury's face had become.
Is this breakfast something I ordered for you?If I'd known, I'd say this kid has no conscience at all.I started eating ages ago—so why didn't I eat this one? Why?!
Nick Fury turned and looked at Coulson.
An utterly confused Coulson stared back: He ate your breakfast—what do you think I was doing?
"Uh… sir, what's wrong?"Coulson asked bravely, since Fury was his direct superior.
"Go buy me another breakfast. Then come back. Thank you."Nick Fury said through clenched teeth.
"And another coffee too—Natasha's!"Qin Xiao quickly added.
"You've got quite the appetite. Do you have any idea how much trouble you've caused?"Nick Fury sighed helplessly, giving up on looking intimidating.
"Isn't this departmental funding?"Qin Xiao handed over a piece of paper with two long strings of numbers written on it.
"There's one billion dollars in that account—bank number and password included. It's to be used as operational funds. But I'll be clear: this money is for our group only. Don't let it leak anywhere else. I took finance electives in college—I'll be watching closely."
Qin Xiao mumbled around a mouthful of scrambled eggs.
Even if someone beat Nick Fury to death, he wouldn't believe that the entire billion came from this single raid.
But getting the kid to spit it back out would be even harder.
Besides, that wasn't the main point of this meeting.
Unfortunately, Qin Xiao didn't give him time to think.
He cut straight to the point.
"I know what you mean. Just do your job and stick to the agreement—I get it. Last time, the five hundred million didn't quite meet expectations. There won't be a next time, I promise. Besides, I wore a hood—everyone knows who I am."
That string of shameless rationalizations left Nick Fury completely speechless.
After breakfast, the ever-busy Nick Fury hurried back to headquarters.
The other three escorted him to the desert outside town, where a Quinjet was parked.
"Keep a close eye on this man!"Nick Fury emphasized to Coulson and Black Widow.
He turned to Qin Xiao, about to give him more instructions.
Qin Xiao immediately raised two fingers and swore to the sky.
"Don't worry. I swear I'll never cause trouble again. I swear! If I secretly mess around again, there's a Chinese saying—'Heavenly thunder strikes you down'. It means God will smite you with lightning!"
Before Nick Fury could comment, dark clouds suddenly gathered in the sky.
Thunder rumbled.
And it was concentrated directly above them.
The clouds churned, forming a vortex like a tornado.
Thunder roared, the sky darkened ominously, and everyone slowly turned to stare at Qin Xiao.
"Why are you all looking at me? I swear I meant every word! This has nothing to do with me!"
Qin Xiao waved his hands frantically.
Unfortunately, heaven wasn't interested in giving him face.
The moment his words fell, a bolt of lightning more than a meter thick struck Qin Xiao directly.
The others—who had survived gunfire and artillery—didn't need instructions. They scattered instantly, diving to the ground.
"BOOM!"
The lightning exploded like a bomb, blasting a massive crater into the ground.
People and aircraft tumbled into the pit together.
Qin Xiao landed at the very center.
Beside him lay an iron hammer, wrapped in crackling lightning.
