Chapter 48 - Chapter 48 A wedding with paper money flying everywhere

Dozens of imposing, aggressive-looking men and hundreds of funeral wreaths were neatly arranged along both sides of the red carpet at the hotel entrance.

Everything happened far too fast—so suddenly it left people stunned.

Luxury cars blocked the entrance as men in black suits carried wreaths forward and placed them along the red carpet.

Afterward, the men remained standing in pairs on both sides, evenly spaced, separating each wreath from the next.

"You… who are you? What are you trying to do?"

A relative of Guo Xinliang pointed at Qin Xiao, his voice trembling.

The hotel staff member nearby wisely kept his mouth shut.

Delivering funeral wreaths on such a special day meant deep, personal hatred. Judging by the convoy and the posture alone, it was obvious these people were anything but ordinary. This was not something he should interfere with—better to turn around and walk away.

Qin Xiao ignored Guo Xinliang's relatives and casually waved his hand. At once, more men in black suits stepped out from behind the Ferrari convoy.

They moved swiftly, escorting Guo Xinliang's relatives away and stopping the bride and groom's family members who were trying to come out of the hotel.

Under normal circumstances, ordinary friends wouldn't get involved. Only close family members would rush out to argue—but the moment they reached the entrance, they were blocked by tall, muscular men in black suits.

No pushing. No shouting.

"You can scream if you want," their presence seemed to say, "but you're not getting through."

Even the wedding convoy itself was controlled. Except for the lead car, every vehicle had two men in black standing beside it, preventing anyone from getting out.

Seeing that the stage was fully set, Qin Xiao smiled and walked slowly toward the lead car.

The moment Guo Xinliang and Qu Fang saw him, their minds went completely blank.

Half a month earlier, they had asked people to investigate Qin Xiao's situation.

At the time, he was lost, obsessed only with reclaiming the company. He had no stable job, lived in a converted garage in a county town, and debt collectors called him every few days.

For reasons unknown, Qu Fang had even sent him a wedding invitation.

But the scene before them now—this convoy, these men—was something Qin Xiao couldn't possibly afford, even if he sold everything he had.

They had believed they knew everything about him.

What they were seeing now completely shattered that belief.

Then there was Qin Xiao himself—his clothes, his bearing, his confidence.

If not for that familiar face, they would never have believed this man was Qin Xiao.

"What? You don't recognize me?" Qin Xiao tapped the rear window lightly."I came to your wedding. I even prepared something special for you. Aren't you going to thank me?"

Inside the car, Guo Xinliang and Qu Fang exchanged a glance.

Guo Xinliang took a deep breath, rolled down the window, and forced himself to speak.

"Qin… Qin Xiao. Why are you here?"

"The invitation," Qin Xiao said calmly, pulling one from his pocket and flicking it into the car."Didn't you send it to me?"

Guo Xinliang stared at it, then turned and shot Qu Fang a vicious look.

Whatever had happened to Qin Xiao, this situation could no longer be avoided—and today was absolutely not the day to escalate things.

Qu Fang, usually sharp-tongued and domineering, fell completely silent.

Left with no choice, Guo Xinliang forced a smile—uglier than a ghost's.

"Qin Xiao… I know we wronged you. But today is our wedding. After it's over, we can talk. If there's anything I can help with—"

He was right about one thing. With so many guests watching, he had no choice but to go through with the ceremony.

"You make it sound like I came to collect a debt," Qin Xiao said with a chuckle."I'm just here for your wedding. Look—I even prepared the cars and the flowers."

He gestured around.

"Look at your convoy. Is this really worthy of a future chairman of a listed company, brother?"

Guo Xinliang was practically losing his mind.

Who the hell brings funeral wreaths to a wedding?

Yet no laws were broken. No one was hurt. Calling the police would do nothing.

"Thank you for your… kindness," Guo Xinliang said through clenched teeth."But our convoy is already here. Can you let us go in? The ceremony is about to start. And… could you remove your 'flowers' first?"

"Of course."

Qin Xiao snapped his fingers.

The convoy withdrew, and the pickup trucks slowly cleared the road.

"But since you already have a convoy, you can't refuse my flowers," Qin Xiao said cheerfully, producing a twisted confetti launcher."Come on. Get out of the car. I'm still waiting to welcome the bride and groom."

Trapped and unable to retreat, Guo Xinliang's convoy rolled forward.

He helped Qu Fang out of the car—she was unwilling, frightened, but powerless.

With wreaths lining both sides, Guo Xinliang steadied himself, took a deep breath, and led her onto the red carpet.

Qin Xiao genuinely admired his composure.

But after planning for over ten days, did anyone really think this was all he had prepared?

As the couple stepped onto the red carpet, Qin Xiao raised both hands and waved.

Men in black suits standing along the carpet reached behind the wreaths and pulled out twisted confetti tubes.

"Bang! Bang!"

Perfectly synchronized—like a rehearsal.

A storm of confetti burst into the air.

But instead of colorful streamers, white paper slips—each the size of a coin—rained down.

A five-star hotel entrance.Red carpet.Balloons overhead.A bride and groom in formal wear.

And yet—funeral wreaths lining the carpet, white paper money floating down like snow.

The contrast was horrifying.

Some guests panicked. Some called the police. Others raised their phones to record the surreal scene.

A few tried to argue, pushing against the men in black.

Then—doors in the parking lot slammed open.

Another group of men in black rushed out.

This time, each held a gleaming dagger.

Though Qin Xiao had ordered them not to hurt anyone, chaos at a wedding was bound to be terrifying.

The moment blades appeared, the crowd instantly fell silent.

Even the most hot-headed guests were restrained by their own families.

Qin Xiao looked at Guo Xinliang and Qu Fang, their faces deathly pale, and smiled.

"Do you think I went a little too far?"

"I think so too," he said softly."That's why I prepared a real gift for you."

"One made just for the two of you."

"And it's extremely precious."
