Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Alternative ways to obtain super serum

A super soldier directly transfusing blood into an ordinary person and creating another super soldier?

At first, Qin Xiao thought it was pure nonsense.

But this was the Marvel universe. People could become superheroes just by getting bitten by a spider—let alone with a system involved.

In any case, no matter how it happened, at least he now had some means of self-protection.

Earlier, Qin Xiao had casually tested his strength on the road. With one hand, he had effortlessly lifted a pickup truck.

True, because of the angle, he'd only lifted one side—but judging from how it felt, the weight of a car was practically nothing to him now.

After that incident, Isaiah was overwhelmed with guilt.

He repeatedly warned Qin Xiao not to display his abilities casually, confirmed that his injuries were no longer serious, and then—eyes reddened—forced him out of the hidden basement.

Qin Xiao understood. Once he left, the old man would probably move away and make sure Qin Xiao would never be able to find him again.

Although their relationship had been altered by the system, Isaiah's feelings weren't fake.

There would be chances to make it right in the future.

Besides, according to the canon timeline, Isaiah was still alive and in good health even after Avengers: Endgame.

For now, survival came first.

Because the system had already issued its first mission.

Mission:Approach Tony Stark and successfully draw his attention—make him remember your name—to unlock subsequent tasks.

PS: Even with a system, when you first arrive, you still need to grab onto a rich man's leg.

In reality, this mission was extremely difficult.

Who was Tony Stark?

A genius scientist. CEO of Stark Industries. The richest man in America—if not the world.

And given his current personality, he wasn't exactly easy for ordinary people to deal with.

Even with the strength he'd gained from Isaiah's blood, Qin Xiao couldn't simply approach him.

Not to mention whether Stark would call the police.

Just look at what happened to Isaiah back then.

Qin Xiao had no intention of becoming another government or military experiment.

He needed time to plan.

Fortunately, in two days, it would be time to report to Stark Industries.

Qin Xiao bought a plane ticket and flew from the East Coast to Los Angeles.

Stark Industries was massive, with major facilities in both New York and Los Angeles.

Qin Xiao's internship was at the company's headquarters in Los Angeles.

His position: laboratory assistant.

In practice, that meant a glorified errand boy.

Copying documents. Making tea. Running small tasks.

Just like that, Qin Xiao became a regular nine-to-five worker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Every day, he traveled between Stark Industries and his small apartment.

Fortunately, the pay was decent, and the lab work wasn't exhausting.

Life was comfortable—but the mission was nowhere near completion.

Two months passed.

Forget getting close to Tony Stark—Qin Xiao hadn't even seen him once.

The only familiar face he'd spotted was the bald, burly man from Iron Man.

Obadiah Stane had visited the lab several times.

But Qin Xiao had only ever seen him from a distance.

This wasn't going to work.

Time was running out.

It was already April 2008.

Who knew when Tony Stark would head to Afghanistan?

Once he became Iron Man, approaching him would only get harder.

Qin Xiao stood in the break room, holding a cup of coffee, lost in thought.

A middle-aged man in a white lab coat with a receding hairline walked in, holding a cup of tea.

"Qin! Why do you look so down?" the man asked with a smile."Did your girlfriend dump you? Or are you in trouble? Come on—people our age are great at giving advice to the young."

"Oh, Dr. Rex, thank you," Qin Xiao replied politely."I just feel like this job isn't quite what I imagined."

Of course, he couldn't tell the truth.

"Oh, don't be so pessimistic," Dr. Rex said kindly."Everyone here starts as an assistant. Calm down. You've been here almost three months now, right? Congratulations—your internship is almost over."

Dr. Rex glanced around. Seeing no one nearby, he leaned closer and lowered his voice.

"I heard that once interns pass, the boss personally conducts the interview and assigns positions. It's a rare opportunity. You need to pull yourself together."

"The boss?" Qin Xiao asked.

"Tony Stark, of course," Dr. Rex laughed."What do you think this company is called—Stark Industries? I gave you an A-level evaluation. Get ready."

At Stark Industries, every new hire rotated through departments for three months.

Department heads evaluated them, HR conducted interviews, and positions were reassigned.

Dr. Rex—the man in front of Qin Xiao—was the director of the lab where he interned.

This information was crucial.

If Tony Stark really was the one conducting the interviews, then Qin Xiao needed to think carefully about how to leave an impression.

Three months passed in the blink of an eye.

That morning, Qin Xiao arrived early—only to be told he didn't need to report to the lab.

Instead, he was to go directly to the top floor for his interview.

Qin Xiao was ecstatic.

The top floor was Tony Stark's private domain.

It housed a personal lab, his office, and various fitness and entertainment facilities.

Only a select few—Obadiah, Pepper, and a handful of executives—had clearance.

If he was being called up there…

Tony Stark was definitely present today.

Qin Xiao took the elevator up, barely able to contain his excitement.

He was first led into a small conference room.

Tony Stark's personal bodyguard was already there.

Happy Hogan was the first to appear, conducting strict security checks.

After that, more than a dozen interns were arranged for interviews.

Unfortunately, Qin Xiao was last.

About ten minutes later, Pepper Potts entered the room with a folder, calling out names one by one.

Perhaps due to differences in aesthetics, she looked younger than in the movies.

Still, she didn't quite match Qin Xiao's personal preferences.

Back then, he preferred the Widow—or the Scarlet Witch.

Looks like he might get the chance to meet them someday.

For some reason, Qin Xiao felt even more excited.

Tony Stark's interviews were fast—only three to five minutes each.

One by one, the interns left the room.

Finally, Pepper opened the door again and called Qin Xiao's name.

"Qin… Xiao?"

She hesitated slightly over the pronunciation, then smiled.

"Come with me," she said."Mr. Stark is waiting."
